GymIt was a great gym for the price until they changed their policy about their cross-training/CrossFit area. Effective Jan 27th 2020, only VIP members or personal training clients can utilize that area. I asked the front desk person why they changed their policy, and he blamed it on the members. He said that the members were removing weights from the area and not returning them properly. However, I’ve been going to GymIt Watertown for over a year now and have noticed that it’s actually the personal trainers who do not properly return their equipment to the correct locations. This policy change is basically making members pay more money for a VIP membership/personal training in order to use this space, when before it was completely free for ALL members. I’m pretty upset because this gym can get packed on the weekends and week nights, and that space takes up about 20-25% of the gym space. I’m most likely going to leave GymIt if they don’t change their policy.

Changing my review from 5 stars to two. I had been a member for years since gymit opened in Watertown. When I first joined it was quiet, clean and inexpensive. It was also intimidating, but that's all changed. The gyms gotten busy and crowded it's almost impossible to find a parking spot after work and there really isn't a good transit option. They now have high pressure trainers. I was also able to join in the winter and quit in the summer when I exercise outdoors without a problem. Looked into joining again this winter and the rates had gone up drastically. You're now paying Boston prices in Watertown and just for looking online I'm getting marketing emails and cold calls. A hard pass now - it used to be a humble gym no more

Their reservation bookings after COVID are always filled as soon as they open and had to cancel. I was able to went 7-10 times during my 2 months membership, got charged 50$ annual fee after a month and totaled to 100$ to be able to go a few times. Barely able to use my gym membership. Emails got ignored. Avoid.

The culture of this gym is changing and I am seriously considering looking elsewhere. What was once a friendly and welcoming staff has been replaced with pushy personal trainers at the front desk. This is a budget gym, and for many, personal training is a luxury. I want to go to the gym to zone out and independently work out, not feel like I am being pushed to buy something.Furthermore, at the start of 2020, they have undergone several policy changes furthering the push toward personal training. There is a back room with extra squat racks, weights, and an area to dead lift. This takes up a large portion of the gym and is great during really high volume hours. Now, only people who - shocker - use the personal training are allowed to use it. Not a fan.

As a few others have mentioned the culture and rules have been changing the last few months, and not in a good way. I've been a member for years and I'm starting to look for a new gym. Super disappointing. The gym itself is great, but taking away an entire room of equipment for no reason is infuriating. 3 entire racks with tons of bumper plates locked up for what? The 2 people working with trainers? I've never witnessed any "regulars" not put weights away or clean up. I've also rarely seen the trainers put equipment away (at least not the current group of trainers.) I can't recommend GymIt until they allow members back into the power lifting room.

Got everything you could want at a gym at an amazing price. Only gripe is parking can be limited at times.

Staff is friendly, the gym has everything you could need for a good workout

Everything I want in a gym, it's clean and membership prices are reasonable. Classes and training are available but not included in basic membership.
