If you don't have the condition for Tabata-styled HIIT routines, but want a high-energy routine that you'll push yourself through, this is the place!

I was here for the first time. The class is at 130pm and they have this policy you have to arrive 30 mins earlier and I got that. They called me twice, at 1230pm and 1255pm. I was driving couldn’t answer the phone. I called back at 1pm after I arrived at assembly and was told I was late and not allowed to join the class due to their policy. I literally drove all the way here, hit some traffic, was right at partners garage made this call 30mins earlier and got denied told me to head back home. I think couple minutes really bothers them and wasting my life driving back and forth doesn’t really matter.

I love the energy, the coaches, that the workout is always changing, and that classes go by quickly. The coaches truly encourage and understand the balance between pushing yourself and going at your own pace, which makes the room feel positive.

My worse Orangetheory experience ever! The coach was new, the fan was blowing hard on the weight lifting area and the wind was blowing everyone away! Such an uncomfortable way of doing weight lifting and when I raised it to the front desk and the manager attention, they all looked as if its the first time they ever noticed it! Just a very poor customer service and a terrible experience overall. Do not recommend this branch although unfortunately there are not many other options around.

I have been going to OTF Somerville since they opened summer of 2017. The staff has been incredibly friendly and helpful, the coaches have motivated me in ways other gyms have not, which has helped me keep a healthier lifestyle and in turn helped me lose and keep off 20 lbs since starting. . They offer a variety of class times throughout the day that fit my schedule and best of all it challenges my entire body by giving me the best of both worlds (cardio and strength training).

I want to start by saying I think fitness classes are generally kind of stupid and unnecessary. With a basic gym you should have everything you need to increase your fitness. ...but I've had such a hard time dragging myself to the big box gym right next to my house.OrangeTheory looks like a bunch of overpriced hype from the outside. My fiance started doing it and convinced me that it was fun and the workout was brutal. I used to go to a crossfit gym which I liked, but it's crazy expensive and hard to get good at unless you go most days which isn't practical for me currently. I love the heart rate monitor and the screen, though I think it doesn't work perfectly all the time. The treadmills are the 2nd best I've ever run on (bulging discs in my back) second only to the TruForm runner you would find at a crossfit gym. The instructors have all been really positive without being annoying and intrusive. The people who work at the desk are very pleasant and try to be as helpful as possible. Occasionally there are issues with the tech, mostly the app, but the website always works. I LOVE that rowers and treadmills always take up a bulk of the time because those exercises are unmatched.I only write reviews unless something is absolutely horrid or fantastic. OTF in somerville has been the latter. I'm legitimately excited to exercise again. However - don't really buy the calorie number that's given to you at the end. It's based on a measure that's pretty well studied but measuring metabolism is debated in the literature. Regardless - it's a super consistent way to make sure you're working hard and pushing yourself. I love that. Can't ask for anything better. The negative reviews on here are kinda funny. Their policy is STRICT and OBVIOUS about being on time. I like that. No classes are impacted by people being late or staff having to go attend to other things during the workout. The facility is nice. It's clean. The equipment is in great shape.
