Definitely one of the better PF locations I’ve visited. Staff is friendly and available more often than not, the gym itself is very clean and well maintained. Great place to get in a good workout in a relatively quiet and peaceful environment, the people largely mind their own business and I haven’t ever seen the ‘lunk alarm’ being used. My only pet peeve is people often don’t re-rack weights, kind of annoying. The best time to go is later at night when the place is not crowded, I can give this place 5 stars during non-peak hours!

Some employees look at you and judge you if your willing to give 100% and sweat or breathe hard. (Probably because they look like they dont use their own gym equipment) Otherwise its alright but the slogan about a judgement free zone is totally not the case. Its super cheap and close to my house though. Those are the real/actual selling points. If you have money or a closer place, hands down go there instead.

Always a friendly staff. CleanReasonably priced. Just the massage bed and chairs make it worth the priceThey throw in tanning and body enhancement. Free pizza once a month and bagels.

Awful. Brand new customer never been to any location before, stopped in to get my membership and use the tanning I also wanted to use the massages, the girl acted like I was more of a bother than a new customer she basically ignored me then after she gave me my card I had to remind her I wanted to tan the she said “so you wanted a tour”? I said not tonight I just wanted to tan then a guy came up she helped who wanted a massage chair she said we only have 1 because ones broke then she said your ready to tan I was like where? I never been here the tanning bed was filthy no head pillows no goggles no towel the bed was from the 80s it was hot as hell in there another new member came in she said welcome also would you like your free t shirt? I said oh I would she ignored me I mean the only thing I really wanted was to work out a couple times a week and use the tanning and massages see that’s pointless so I’ll be canceling and going back to the tannings salon I’ll pay $80 a month for that and use my complex little gym.

Just started going to this location about a month ago. The staff is very friendly. I am hoping to get some personal training help as they have a good selection of training times. Always easy to find the exercise bike I like using. I would recommend this location to anyone wanting a good place to work out.

I really enjoyed the gym, but the customer service is lacking. The assistant manager is snotty and rude, no corporate number to report bad customer service, they will take your money sooner or later than the day they tell you. But you also can't change that day. Lesson learned... If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

Planet fitness is great. I visit different locations around the valley but what makes this location awesome is the staff. My star player here is Serena! She is welcoming and helpful. Anytime I go in to workout she is there with a smile and is always willing to help. If your looking to join planet fitness at this location ask for Serena she will answer all your questions and make you feel like family. It is what it is: a cheap gym. I used to go to Golds, which had a very different... audience. Not to say that this vibe is worse -- I love the body positivity atmosphere that they push so hard for. That being said, I never want to go into a gym that is giving out pre/post-workout candy. They also have pizza and cookie days?? Excuse me?? I'm trying to build personal discipline here and I feel like they're very anti-discipline. On that note, the staff really sucks and the equipment is old and terrible. They usually have like 4-5 people at the front all chatting or hanging out on their phones, and I'm only greeted half the time and have to check myself in the other half. The equipment seems to break all the time and takes forever to be repaired. One of their five stair-stepper machines was broken for weeks and when I tried using it, it was still broken. I notified the staff over three weeks ago that it still wasn't working -- all they've done in that time is to put a "broken" sign on it. That's it! On a high note, it's very clean and their body positivity element does get across. If I'm looking like a mess or feeling stupid on a machine, I never feel like I'm being judged. Overall great gym for beginners, but discipline is obviously not a priority.

I have been going to this gym for over a year, and I absolutely love the staff. They really personalize their relationships with everyone by addressing members by their first names, which I love! The staff is very friendly and approachable. I used to go to LA Fitness and hated the fact they were all about the upsell. Planet Fitness is a great place for people to workout without feeling like they are being judged.

This particular planet fitness location (Southern and McClintock) in Tempe is the absolute worst gym that I have ever been to. This location is poorly mismanaged, by leaving only one employee behind the front desk to work at night and most of the time he is not available to help members. This African American weekend night shift employee is hostile, racist, and abusive towards members, and he should not be left alone unsupervised. Do not go to this location, unless you want to deal with PF employees who try to pick fights and argue with their active members. I have been a member at planet fitness for over five years. I have been to several PF locations across the country (I have the premium black card membership). Most PF employees at OTHER locations seem to be decent people and are also pleasant employees. Stay away from the location on Southern and McClintock.
