24 Hour Fitness in Hermosa Beach offers a spacious multi-floor gym with a wide range of equipment, including weights, weight machines, treadmills, ellipticals, a basketball court, pool, and saunas. The gym has a good layout and friendly staff, creating a motivating workout environment. However, the facility is often crowded, especially during peak hours, and suffers from cleanliness issues.

The gym has undergone some recent improvements, such as upgrading equipment and refurbishing the wet area. Despite these improvements, many members have expressed frustration with the gym's limited hours, which contradicts the '24 Hour' branding. Issues with broken equipment, inconsistent cleaning, and poor management detract from the overall experience, making it less appealing to potential new members.

Pros:

  • Spacious multi-floor layout
  • Wide range of equipment
  • Friendly and helpful staff
  • Refurbished wet area
  • Motivating workout environment
  • Free parking available
  • Reasonable pricing for memberships
  • Good equipment condition overall
  • Childcare available during off-peak hours
  • Recent upgrades in the facility

Cons:

  • Not open 24 hours as claimed
  • Cleanliness issues in restrooms and showers
  • Frequent problems with broken equipment

Horrible customer service. The facility is very dirty. Swimming pool is always busy and water never changed, instead they put more chlorine that causes sever skin rash. The training equipment is very limited, lot's of time you have to wait for it. Parking is horrible, many times no parking is available, so you have to park far away or just go home. It's more frustration, than exercising. The music/TV they play is so loud and annoying. Also, if you'll freeze your membership, they will start charging your card automatically without any note. Rip off place, stay away!

Clean and good air conditioning. There are no weight abdominal machines and the only bikes that has feet straps were racing type cycles..When I asked the only employee (front desk) that I could find he said I would have to bring my own! We joined the 24 hour fitness in Manhattan Beach and guess what they have straps on the recumbent bikes like every fitness center that I have been going to for the last 40 plus years.Since I have a prosthetic it is difficult to go up and down stairs. The elevator and escalator were not working this morning. Enough said!

I go in the morning (7am) and it usually isn't too crowded, but about once a week I'll have to wait to use something. Smaller dumbbell weights (up to 30 pounds) are gone from the rack about half the time. They would benefit from adding more low weights. Bathrooms are sometimes fine, but sometimes messy. Staff is friendly.

It's a decent gym and has a basketball court, but the facilities and equipment are not up to date

YEAH I WOULD LIKE TO WRITE THAT STEVEN AND SOME BLACK GUY THAT WORKS THERE WOULD LIKE TO HARASS ME AS I LEAVE EVERY TIME IM THERE! THEY DONT DESERVE TO WORK THERE, THIS IS NOT HOW YOU TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS, I WOULD RECOMMEND THAT THEY GET FIRED AND LIVE ON THE STREETS! RAY THE MANAGER REFUSE TO HELP AND ALLOWS THEM TO DO IT! BY FAR WORST STAFF BUT THE BEST GYM, IF ONLY THE HAD A NEW STAFF THE GYM WOULD BE PERFECT!

I've been a member since 2007. Get the 2yr plan from Costco! I've used it twice so far :)My favorite part is when I end my day in the sauna :) sometimes if you're lucky, you might meet people with interesting stories... Or run into Wee-man from Jackass. If you see a caucasion-looking man in his early 50s napping in the sauna, don't be alarmed, it's my friends dad. He naps in saunas a lot, tell him I said hi.Parking may be an issue when it's busy. Best to avoid the busy hours the beginning of summer or early January. There are a lot more parking space if you go down the lot instead of up.I love taking their Monday Zumba class (show up early because she is popular), Tuesday turbo kick (jenn, the instructor is so fun!!!) and Wednesday weight training/turbo kick (enthusiastic instructor).I've been to other 24hr gym and this is the cleanest and it doesn't smell at all (but if u do smell something, might be the guy next to u).I really want to try their boot camp but I don't think I'll last. Cycling class is popular so come early to reserve a spot.People who shouldn't go during busy hours: Girls in makeup with brand new gym outfits that match their gym shoes, who walks on the treadmill while texting on her phone.Best time to go: super late at night when you have the place all to yourself :)

I have been on and off coming to this gym for years.. Loved it until tonight . I got my stuff locked in one of the combination locks that they provide there . Monique tried to help, but thought it was. A good idea to throw some snarky comments at me in the end. "Why did you leave your stuff in a locker ?" Um because it's a locker lol. She did not seem to care that my clothes , make up, wallet, house key, a couple energy drinks , and my $200 box mod vape were in there ( stuff I carry around everywhere) . Finally got the locker open she provided no help

Good gym, gets crowded during rush hours like any other gym. Address listed here is wrong. The gym is on 1600 NORTH PCH, not south pch.

avoid at all costs - it may be close by but the management is rude and totally unhelpful, unhelpful that is unless they are collecting dues or selling product. Don't you just want a fitness business that is interested in actual fitness instead of increasing revenues??

Overall, a good facility. It has child care, but that fills up fast unless you come at off hours and the quality of the care takers is hit and miss. The equipment is in good condition overall. Gym gets very crowded at peak hours and parking can be a pain at these times. On the upside, you no longer have to mess with parking tickets and getting it validated for two hours - its just plain free now.
