Crunch Fitness - Westland

The gym itself is fine, nothing to write home about but it gets the job done. However this last time I was there the staff was extremely rude and unprofessional. It’s like they hire the youngest people they can find, who obviously have no experience in how to interact with paying clients. They need to better train their staff on how to act professional and have basic social skills.

The equipment is nice and well maintained, there’s plenty of each different type of machine so what you want is always available and the gym itself is clean. So far, every staff member I’ve dealt with has been friendly and helpful. The hydro-beds are pretty sweet too.

Best gym in the area by miles!! Staff couldnt be any friendlier or knowledgeable. I've dropped about 25lbs of fat and replaced it with over 40 of muscle at 53 years young. Love this place!!My only complaint- I'm a service connected disabled vet & wasnt offered a discount at all. I was told that might change and hope it does before my prepaid year is up.I also figured out theres No benefit to prepaying your membership. Might as well hold on to your $$ and pay monthly. I didnt save a dime prepaying. This WILL NOT happen again. I drive past 2 planet fitness and lifetime to get here. If I'm not offered some sort of deal in 3 weeks when my membership is up, ( I also have sent many other paying customers up here to join) I plan on checking out the other places I pass on the way here to see how they value Vets

I've been coming to this Crunch location for about 5 months now. Honestly, its like your average gym with locker rooms, a sauna, all types of exercise equipment, tanning, and hydro chairs. BUT, what makes this place extremely unique (and within about 10 years I've joined about 7 gyms) is their HIIT classes. I love absolutely love these classes. They really push you and you start seeing results over time. I aim to attend these classes 2-3 times per week. Now be aware that they do have like 3 different membership prices and each membership price comes with certain benefits. The HIIT classes are obviously included in the higher price category.One thing I'd like to see is for this gym to be BIGGER. To have two floors, bigger locker rooms, more ab machines , and maybe even a track would be fantastic. And now that winter is here, the foot traffic is really flowing in since its too cold to exercise outside. Fingers crossed!

Very clean gym. Great staff, and all the equipment you need to get a good lift in! Best gym I’ve been to in the area for a even better price. Would definitely recommend it to anyone

Wow, I think the list of dislikes could take up the entire grid of dislikes. Douchy people, money hungry management and let's not forget how unclean this place is. No one enforced masks, nor properly wiping down equipment. Allows new members to buy "bring a guest" then after a few visits, they say it's not allowed to bring a guest, but.... They (said guest) can sign up for a membership... But only the same or higher value package... Completely and utterly the worst gym ever

I just signed up in August. Had the free assessment, that was cool until I layer understood clearly I was stuck in a 12 week contract with trainer. No one ever gave me copies of that or my original membership agreement.. but they easily charge my card every-time.. im in this blind. When I asked for copies no one knows how to send to printer. I tried to go online to look at my account and its saying my member card number don’t exist.. I feel im being taken advantage of.. I have been very patient and its wearing thin.. this place runs business very poorly no one seems to take the customers finances or legal paper work seriously.. I will be contacting the news about this issue. I thought I was joining somewhere who was better than planet fitness. I could’ve stayed there instead had I known something so simple would be an issue

My wife is having a very alarming & terrible experience. Her and her best friend wanted to try out this gym among others in order to decide which one would be their permanent home. After experiencing Edge Fitness they decided to leave crunch. Her friend went into the gym to cancel her membership and everything was done perfectly. My wife entered the gym in January to break the news and cancel her membership, she she followed the same procedure as her friend and was told her membership was cancelled... UNFORTUNATELY THIS IS NOT THE CASE... after repeated conversations with employees at Crunch Fitness... it is March and they are still not able to stop the auto drafts! She had to ask her bank to reject any payments associated with Crunch Fitness because for some "unexplainable reason" this company cannot stop pulling out of her bank account... I strongly advise anyone in this area to go with Edge Fitness or another gym if you value the control of your bank account. The unfortunate part is the gym itself is nice, the staff seemed very nice when I visited.*If they do not allow you to use a debit card that is not linked to your bank account I would not go to the gym... unless you have a separate bank account for auto draft items, that your main income is not deposited into.

I love this gym and everything about it. It is where I found myself and grew so much as an individual. I am very comfortable at this gym and promote this gym to as many people as I can. Very affordable and has everything you could possibly need. It is always clean and staff is always so friendly and welcoming. No gym compares. I have been here for almost 3 years now!

The Crunch here in Westland is a great gym! It allows you to be versatile with your workouts with all of there equipment that is always up to par. You shouldn’t be going in doing the same thing every day as there is more than enough to workout with. The staff is amazing at keeping the place neat and clean. They’re also great people as they are inviting and kind people who you could even have a conversation with. The trainers are great and understanding and not a**holes like other trainers. They only want you to get better and will do what it takes to get you there. All in all, this is a great gym that I’ve been apart of for over a year and never had problems with!
