Julian Macy and all the staff have been absolutely amazing! I just started back in the gym a few months ago and I had previously only been to the YMCA, and I’m so glad I switched to Genesis! No, I’m not paid or compensated in any way, I just never thought I’d enjoy a gym this much! Every one of the staff has been incredibly helpful and I’ve never once felt like I was being judged or that anyone was staring. Everything is always super clean, and I’ve used two training sessions with Natira so far and she was very welcoming, knowledgeable, and great to work with-I felt comfortable trusting her advice. Julian goes above and beyond and it feels great to be acknowledged when you’re working hard-sometimes it’s easy to lose motivation when you start back in the gym, and just having someone recognize that means the world, and I really appreciate that about the staff there. I’ve started bringing friends with me, and just taking a tour was a step in the right direction to get my health back on track. If you’re hesitant, don’t be-there’s something for everyone there no matter what your fitness level is :)Thank you to all the great employees at Genesis, y’all give me the motivation to want to come in and make positive changes. ❤️

Had a very odd incident happen today at the Genesis on Harry where I’m a member. Got what felt like an interrogation and accusation on presenting a 7 day trial pass for a friend that wanted to check the gym out with me. Got asked who did I get it from, when, did I just grab it off someone’s desk basically asking me if I stole it and also some comment about me possibly finding it on the floor. Was told that today he could go in but next time the managers might have a problem with it which I was sure there was one or two managers standing there listening to this interaction and why would the managers have a problem someone using a trial they offer is still unclear. I’ve heard a lot of negatives about this company overall but never anyone getting crazy pushback from trying to use a trial pass provided by one of their people. Was slightly embarrassing and even the one I was with was trying to figure out what just happened. Doubt he’ll be joining after today.

They apparently think talk shows and the home shopping network is motivational as it's on the majority of the screens in the weight area. So bad that I have considered canceling my membership 🤔 …

Had a problem with the ac but I spoke to a young lady on Monday morning and she assured me that she would have the problem fixed by the next time I came in and I am very happy to say that she did indeed did remedy the problem. Thank you so much to her and everyone else.

Transition between gyms is a mess. They randomly just changed their hours of operations without sending out an email. No email or anything. Then, they try to bribe you to stay with them once you cancel your membership. The worst customer service I have seen to date.Vasa at least sent out a change in their app when they were here.I really wish Vasa was still here.Edit: they closed early again on Labor Day without notifying us. Guy at the counter pointed at the door and said they notified us. Well yes, I have to show up to see your sign on the door. This place has horrible management.

The reason I still come here is because it's closer and maybe nostalgia of the old vasa. Ever since Genesis took over, the vibe hasn't been the same. My biggest complaint is the soap in the bathroom are empty most of the time and it takes them forever to check and replace the soap. I can understand why the traffic has been slow and attendance decrease tremendously. I miss the old vasa staff cuz they were all so much friendlier and easy to talk to. What's the different between the genesis staff and a battery? The battery has a positive side. Mic drop 🎤

Transition has been a mess. Didn't get charged for membership so I called to make sure everything was okay and I wouldn't be penalized for a late charge since nothing was ever taken out, and the employee was clueless about billing. He said he's only been working for 5 days with them, so I understand but he's evidently been left to run everything on his own so nobody who knew what they were doing was there to help me. he said to call back tomorrow to talk to his boss.... I asked if I called another location would they know what to do? he said he didn't know. I asked him to guarantee I would not be charged late fees since he was not able to help with billing and since I have to wait for someone else. he said he couldn't guarantee anything. So you can't guarantee I won't be charged late fees, but you can't solve my problem?? what a mess. I get being a new employee so it's not necessarily his fault, but nobody else was there to help.Update: finally decided to go back after the switch, and I've noticed a few things about the facility that are poorer than before. First of all, it's 80 degrees outside, WHY ARE THE FANS OFF INSIDE? The number of kettlebells available has dropped by half, seemingly migrating to the cage. I would like the kettlebells to come back to the turf so I can use them. The audio in the movie theater isn't synced with the video and they didn't have the movie schedule published anywhere. The class options are a joke now. The majority of the classes are during working hours. I pretty much only have the option of zumba during evenings and weekends.

I don't care for Genesis dor two reasons one is the Stevenson own them. And two they had a grand opening at the one on east Harry and they promised us shirts and some gifts they had in a drawing because we were the only two left this guy said you guys get these gifts and ill bring them to you Friday I manage the one on Woodlawn well its been almost 3 weeks and the shirts are on order. And the gifts also never made it either. Sothats why I don't like Genesis at all they are not friendly. At all ill go to the YMCA where the staff cares.
