The young girl that was working the front desk in the day time was so professional, and kind. I didn't bring a water bottle, but she was kind enough to find one for me and bring it to me on the floor. It was really a great way to start off the first day at the club. So thank you!!!

This gym has be very understanding with me during the last year. They encouraged me to place my membership on hiatus when I had a hardship due to the pandemic. Upon my return, things are cleaner than ever, and the group classes are socially distanced. I can’t wait until Downtown is re-opened!

Initially, I enjoyed this gym. I liked all the amenities it offers and well supplied locker rooms. I had no problem paying my membership fee every month as I agreed to do and did so without any issues for couple years. I recently became a student and was no longer able to keep up with membership fee so I decided to cancel. They mentioned I still had to pay an additional month. Thus, I talked to management accounting, whom I had to email, rather than talk on the phone. After explaining my situation they would not let me out of this portion of the contract even though they have complete authority to change the contract. Why I'm give this two stars, not because they didn't oblige my request, but the "manager" I spoke with STOPPED talking to me, with no goodbye, thank you, how else can we help. Nothing. I've never felt more dismissed especially as a faithful paying customer. Very disappointed with this company. In response to owner. Account was under my maiden name (Brull).

FINANCIAL COERCION. This place should be closed. Management promised a deal, during "week sale", singed under promised agreement in 10/2020 - now billing crazy monthly charges and sending me to collections. Finance office and Gym are completely disconnect. No customer service, available. THIRD WORLD COUNTRIES HAVE BETTER CUSTOMER CARE AND SUPPORT. Wish I never stepped into this place. AVOID IT , YOU LL REGRET IT.

I love how attentive some of the staff are and how clean the place is when those workers are on shift. Also love all the BBQs and events like fitapalooza. Also they offer full service locker rooms and towels. Something no other gym does. Worth the money to avoid Meatheads and thugs at defined and chuze. Make great friendships along the way. Go midtown.

If I could give this place zero I would.. don’t join their membership unless you ready to deal with their continuous billing.. after trying for several months to cancel my membership I finally got too but one thing they don’t tell you and was not mentioned in my contract is you have to pay for the additional month after you cancel with them. When I signed up I was told if I moved out of the area I wouldn’t have to pay a fee and my membership cancellation would be processed immediately... nope.. i have been living in Missouri for some time and was still getting billed over the summer. Technically they wanted me to pay although I live no where near a sports and wellness facility. Mind you I’m a graduate student so I’m not really pleased to pay (almost a 100 a month) for something I’m not going to use. Save your money and go to planet fitness or elsewhere.

Security huge issue. Multiple vehicles broken into daily. Midtown has done nothing to help increase security. Been a member 20 yrs. staff rude, unhelpful and likely part of theft ring. Don’t go unless u want your car broken into and valuables stolen. Midtown will do nothing to help. Showers have been updated for 30 yrs, but monthly membership has increased. This is a known police crime spot!!!!!! Midtown does nothing to help prevent theft.

Welcome to the ghetto. I have been a member since 2011. The other Sports and wellness locations are much much nicer. This one is overcrowded. They just want to sell more and more memberships for the $$. If you are considering a membership at this location go during the peak hours and see what it is like. I go during non peak hours, mid morning, and still have to wait to use equipment. The mens showers are pretty disgusting. They aren't interested in maintaining the facility or equipment,, just making more $$. The younger trainers here are very arrogant, for the most part, and consider you an inconvenience in THEIR gym. If you work out in the aerobic area, treadmills and bikes, prepare to listen to gangster rap coming from the basketball court. I have to crank my own music earphones way up to drown it out.So the astute reader may be asking why the heck do I go here. It is one of the few places I can play racquet ball. I also like some of the classes here. It is also at a very convenient location for me. If I stop playing racquet ball I will definitely find a better and more affordable gym. This used to be a really nice upscale facility, no more.

OMG! They "remodeled" the lobby, but it looks like a cheap, plastic McDonald's. They painted it bright red and yellow! They changed the floor to like a wood training floor and it's SUPER slippery when wet. The chairs are really small and uncomfortable. It does look fresh and clean but so out of place compared to the rest of the club. They put lipstick on a pig, it's just the wrong shade! The club is run-down and is in desperate need of a revamp. There are scuffs and dents on the walls, dents in trash cans, scuffs in the chairs, the furniture just looks old and used. There is no design with old vinyl chairs and blue carpet. The weight room floor is way too crowded with too many machines. The group ex room has HUGE cracks in the walls and ceilings. And when it rains, there are leaks everywhere. You can't walk anywhere without stepping over a bucket. And there is something ALWAYS wrong or broken with the cardio equipment. I get that things break, but maybe investing in newer cardio equipment that can handle the use would be a good upgrade. And don't get me started on the SHOWERS! They did this whole ugly remodel in the lobby but the shower stalls are faded yellow plastic with rusty hinges and moldy grout!? The rest of the locker room is actually ok with hotel towels and amenities but the shower area is way outdated and something you would find in a '70's community center. The rate is OVER $100 per month!! I moved to Albuquerque from other cities, small and large. I always belong to a gym and gyms in other cities are bigger, way nicer, more modern and MUCH cheaper!Sports and Wellness has nice amenities but the building is way out dated and it's overpriced. Shop your choices before making a decision. There are other gyms in town with the same stuff, newer and less expensive.

PLEASE READ BEFORE JOINING: Seems nice enough at first glance HOWEVER - the weight room / cardio / useful areas are maybe 1/3rd of the club - the rest is wasted space. Those areas are insanely busy. Want a bench press - cool only two in the whole facility all in use. Good luck trying to find clips or the correct weights in the heap. The machines are constantly broken - most often the steam room in the locker room. Ah the locker room - the never ending hunt to MAYBE find a locker and the finishes of a 1950's middle school. All for the bargain price of $95 per month and YOU must give 60 days heads up of cancellation in which you will pay for those two months. The parking lot is brimming with crime; at least two cars broken into per day! The two managers Mike Baker and Bova embody dumb and dumber. One is a bigger joker than the next and are very unhelpful and I speculate drink on the job. Heads up Chuze opened down the road - half the price and 10 times the quality and flexibility.
