I was homeless as a teenager fir a few weeks (because I was being a stubern teen who was acting dumb) and I had $100 to eat for the next two weeks I had all my bills paid from mid town bit the chared me at the beging of the month when they know I always pay at the end of the month so I called furious and they basicly told my tough luck piss off call corprit which was closed for 4 day due to the Holliday weekend so they dont give a crap about you health or wellness just your wallet

This is a great gym. I have used the personal trainers and find them to be well trained, attentive. The overall cleanliness is very good, and the equipment is in good working order. I highly recommend Midtown.

This is great place that offers everything you want and pay for. Love the evening hours not to many stalkers like other gyms. Only thing I don't like is the excessive nudity in the locker rooms!!! Towels everywhere and yet they just walk around as if you are in a nature walk😳 …

This place is garbage and only wants your money. The weights are always in use by people on there phones. The only time I tried to play basketball some guy and kid came in spouting that they have the gym at this time all the time. Staff didnt care when i complained. I went back in to use half of the court and the older guy went out and complained and had me removed. To top it off, I had to move out of state and they charged me $250 for cancelling my membership.

Not a gym! It's a health club that offers much more than a simple gym! Been a member for years.. If you don't like a community that cares about you and wants you to meet your fitness and health goals, then don't go to Midtown! If you want cleanliness, sincerity, and amenities then DO!

They allow and condone dropping weights and yelling warcrys in the gym, actually it is mostly the staff making all the noise. Personal trainers take up huge areas of the gym for 1-3 clients during busy hours and aggressively hit on girls who are working out. The lockers have been redone and are pretty nice however, the nudity is gratuitous. The worst offenders include the guys (more than one) who furiously scrub their genitals in the shower with the curtain open and trying to make eye contact with everyone, the guys who uses the hair drier to dry their pubic hair for 5 min (after 1 min you are just having fun), and that one guy who takes glorious naked naps on the bench with his hands folded behind his head snoring like a train. Racket ball courts apparently can't be reserved unless you pay extra on top of the already unreasonable monthly dues.Sounds pretty bad but the worst part of S&W is dealing the Wellbridge corporate office which is who you have to talk to if you want to do anything other than sign-up. It started when the card used for automatic withdraw expired and required me to update the info which only the expiration date had changed. So the next month there is a $25 NSF fee which I later learned meant "non-sufficient funds". But the first time I called I was told it is a normal charge and is probably from adding a person to the account. This charge kept coming so I called again and this time was told the the card declines the charge on the 1st of the month and when they try again on the 18th it goes through. They were charging the old card on the 1st then the new one on the 18th. They wouldn't/couldn't tell me which cards they had on file and accused me or my bank of being at fault and I needed to take the issue up with my bank. The bank never showed an attempt to withdraw on the 1st or less than enough money in the account to pay the bill at anytime. When calling them back they let up a little and started trying to bargain with me of how much they were going to reimburse me. I had to talk to a manager to get the full reimbursement and asked him to delete my card info from the system. I got the money back but next month another NSF fee... they hadn't deleted my card info. I canceled my account and recommend Defined Fitness, Liberty Gym, SNAP Fitness, or any other gym in Albuquerque. If you are wondering why I was there for so long under these conditions, it was to encourage a friend to go to the gym more frequently.

It truly boils down to geographical convenience for me. There are two S&W locations within 4 miles of my house where there are 3 Defined fitness within 9 miles of my area of convenience. Sure, the hot tub closes all the time and the prissiness of the staff is beyond comprehension, but one must evaluate from their current position the advantages and disadvantages of accessibility in relation to location.I like that there's lemon in S&W's water... there I said it.

My contract was fulfilled 6 years ago. I got free membership at Defined Fitness, so cancelled my $126 per month membership at Sports and Wellness on Feb. 4. I was told I not only had to pay for February but also for March. This was small print in the contract I signed 8 years ago. No justification, just a money grab. Shame on them for this.

This Sports and Wellness is the one I most frequent since it's closest to where I live. It's the racquet ball Mecca of all the S&W gyms in town. It has all of the amenities that you would expect for the price you pay for membership. Besides racquet ball courts, it has an outside pool which they put a dome on during wintertime, jacuzzis, sauna, a basketball court, cardio room, excellent weight room facility, etc. I would give the gym 5 Stars aside for two reasons: 1) They have not invested any capital into remodeling their locker rooms. Many of the lockers are falling apart and they are at, the very least, 20 years old. 2) Excessive nudity in the locker room, especially near the shower area. I mean, let's face it, you're bound to see some naked people in a gym locker room but this is ridiculous! There are no shortage of towels in this place either. Other than that it's an excellent gym.

I had a gym membership here for 3 years. They kicked all the amazing instructors and these instructors started their own gym. The day I decided to cancel my membership to join Evolv Fitness is when the staff started learning my name and about my family - whom also had canceled and went to the new gym.The only "group" classes they give are 80% the LeMills Body Pump/Cardio Box type classes which are all monotonous and repetitive for 3 months straight. The additional TRX/Pilates are only a small fee of $20 additional dollars PER class ON TOP of the $80.00 membership you already pay. There are TONS of better gyms just as clean and much more friendlier than this ridiculous place. Save your money.
