I've been a member with the Alaska club for little over a year now, and all I can say is that I'm very happy that I joined!!If it wasn't for Jariel (JJ), I would have never joined! He greeted me with a smile, asked what my fitness goals were, and if there was anything he could do to help me achieve them! After signing up, he gave me a tour of the gym. Asked if there were any equipment I didn't know how to use and if I didn't he'd show me. He's pretty amazing!Other than that, A+ on keeping the women's locker-rooms clean. Wide variety of workout equipment to break a good sweat. Complimentary towels and headphones when you forget yours!

Watch for their scams! The Alaska Club has no problem taking advantage of people knowing that 80% of people will not go past the 5 month mark, let alone the 3 month. The Alaska Club will attempt to pull you in with a 3 month comfort guarantee and tell you, "you can cancel any time in the 3 months", This is not the case. Read your contract before signing.1: You must have a health consultation. Not bad right? Keep reading2: You must go to the gym a certain number of times which they will attempt to verify using security camers make sure you don't simply go in, scan and leave. This is why they're so eager to get your photo day 1.3: you can cancel within the 3 months if you pay $500.00 and submit a 30 day notice.4: you can only cancel the membership on the 3rd month (thus paying 200.00 after the 1st "free" month) and submit a written notice 10 days of your final 3 month time period expiration. So their comfort guarantee is a scam. The salesmen will not verbally inform you of this. suggest avoiding this company all together. If not, i at least read the ENTIRE contract taking all the time you need to do so.

I love the Alaska Club, I signed up a year ago with JJ and right away I felt welcomed and cared for. The amenities here and classes helped me out to live a healthy and happy lifestyle. Every time I come in I am welcomed with a smile, if I have questions they are always answered. Unfortunately I am moving and had to cancel my membership, but I was extremely surprised as JJ when only giving my first name remembered me and could easily look up my information. This is a great place to not only work out, but make connections with couches, class teachers, fellow members and staff. It has been a second home to me through out my year here in Anchorage. On another note I recommend the hot yoga, especially for the cold winters in Alaska! :)

Great staff, Richard and JJ took great care in setting me up with the package that fits my routine. Awesome new equipment. Not a lot of fighting over space either. Also after being in Alaska during the winter, you can't beat the indoor pool and sauna.

**Be AWARE** - the wording of their payment agreement is convoluted and vague. They will not notify you after your contract expires that they are continuing to bill you even though you believe that your membership has expired. Read the small print - you are releasing them from all claims even for negligence on the part of the club or its operators. Even with doctor's written verification of physical impairments they will continue to bill you to the end of your contract unless the documentation states that you are to abstain from all exercise. Once you sign and "drive off the lot" they couldn't care less. Worse than used care salesmen. Other than that...the facilities are nice to an extent and they do provide the services and schedule as stated but customer service and locker room cleanliness suffers. If you can afford it and don't mind being locked in...have fun. If you are concerned for any reason that you may not be happy there, affordability is in question or circumstances may change...DO NOT LET THEM PRESSURE you into signing that contract or the Payment Agreement. I wished I had paid better attention.

Long story short: The front lady Charlotte would not let my little daughter's in with me to go swimming because they weren't on my account. I understand she had a bad day but to give my daughter's attitude after ignoring us for 5 minutes. I said I've been going there for 1 year and never had a problem and I would clear it up on Mondy; she said that she doesn't care and it would be $15 for each of them. Needless to say, I or the gentleman I brought in to get a membership will not be renewing our membership.

We purchased the special 12 day pass for $25 each. It’s a great bargain. JJ was quick to assess our interests and needs. We primarily signed up to use the pool. The pool hasn’t been busy during this holiday time so we haven’t had to share the lanes. The water temp is a bit cooler than the APU pool, but the hot tub compensates for that. Appreciate the private showers, warm dry towels, and clean locker rooms. Great staff!

This is a great gym. It is clean, roomy and has everything. And the people are super nice. I am getting back into swimming now and I love it. I wished I had joined years ago.
