If you are considering a Gold’s Gym membership, CONSIDER ANOTHER GYM!!! Read the fine print in the contract carefully & expect to pay for another 30 days AFTER you cancel your membership. DO NOT SET UP automatic payment using a credit card!Last summer, I had knee surgery. You cannot cancel you membership by phone or email so I hobbled into Ben White location on crutches to fill out their form. When I asked young associate at front desk if my card would be charged again, twice he replied “No” so imagine my surprise when my card was charged again!I went to see Manager Sunny Reese who could see I was on crutches yet told me to read fine print in my contract. She expected me to go back to my surgeon and return back with a written physician’s statement.I filed a dispute through my Capital One credit card & they refunded charges. However, I found a sympathetic manager who also got me a refund. However, “Gold’s Gym” was only noted once on my charge card so I did not realize that my card was credited twice.Over my 3 years of membership, I estimate that I paid approximately $4000+ for dues and personal training, NEVER had a late payment since it was automatically paid by my credit card. Instead of contacting me about this clerical error, Gold’s Gym charged me a mysterious (punitive?) $40.00 charge and sent my account to a COLLECTIONS AGENCY! I have an 832 credit score so this experience has been very stressful for me.I have tried to resolve this issue for more than a month. Gold’s Gym’s “Customer Care” does not accept phone calls only emails. I receive cold, impersonal & unsigned emails from Customer Care. They did not reply to Capital One in writing during the 90 day period so refund Capital One gave me was not put back on my card.I recommend that you choose another gym (YMCA? 24 Hour Fitness?) where management may treat their clients with empathy & respect.

If you decide you want to cancel you might want to get a notarized document signed. We canceled in the beginning of January and did everything in our power to make sure it was canceled. Including paying for an extra month because of the 30 day cancellation policy. Now after they charged us for 2 more months. We call and get defensive and claim there is no proof of our cancellation and they will not refund us for their mistake and told us to call corporate. Very unprofessional treating us like liars when they are the ones that dropped the ball.

Love this gym! So many options with equipment, staff is much more friendly than even other golds gyms, and the cardio cinema is amazing. If you know how to workout, this is the place for you.

I joined this gym 3 weeks ago and I still haven’t seen one person wipe a machine down. Every bench has sweat marks from the person before and the gym does absolutely nothing to correct this, not one sign, nothing. Please institute some type of policy!

Great location, very nice gym. However, we moved and I paid to cancel my membership. Kinda sucked, but okay, I paid. Next month, they still pulled from my bank account! We moved, so we no longer use that account and it caused the bank to overdraw my account. This has happened several times. I called in to get it sorted out and they hung up on me. Very professional, couldn't believe it!

Nice gym but... They have billed us for services that were canceled. The General Manager said that they will refund our money, after more than a month no funds have been received and they are still trying to charge the card. We had to cancel the card. My suggestion is that if you want to use this gym you pay cash. Never let them see a credit card.

Staff is cool, machines are nice and there's a wide variety of them. It's clean, plenty of parking and good location.This is not something that can be helped by GG, but worth noting:This place is often very crowded and people are very bad about sitting on machines and using their phones.

I came in to this gym to get some measurements done and I loved the warm, inviting feel of the gym, especially the fact that the staff didn't try to pressure me into training sessions or anything. The gym looked very well-maintained as well. The only reason why I'm giving it a four star is because they recently changed their policy around kids and will charge a fee for bringing them. That was one of the things I appreciated and why I switched from 24 Hour Fitness.

Worst experiences with the worst responses/ follow ups/ customer service. Double charged and told that I'm SOL when they can't figure it out. Moved over a year ago and card was stolen charged over $800 at once for a balance that I had called about in the past and never received a follow up call from management like I was told I would be.This company could care less about its members and only wants money.Customer service/ front desk always seems like they're waiting on someone from higher up to help, but they never show. Absolutely unprofessional and being a veteran or anyone's that's ever been around all types of gym's this is by far the worst experience I've ever had in my life.God forbid anything happens to you because you will not get a response, nor will you receive answers. As long as your check clears you don't exist to them.

Typical big gym chain in that they require an act of God to cancel your membership. We initially called in to cancel and were told everything was set, only to see charges keep hitting our card. When we called, we received the typical run around. The great kicker here is that when we cancelled, they actually started charging us DOUBLE. We were getting our regular charge around the 16th of every month, and then another charge started to be added at the end of each month. Luckily we put it on our Amex and are letting them deal with the rest (note: Amex rep said the same thing had happened to him and they frequently get calls about Gold's).Please note, the staff is actually really nice and helpful. My husband did the Gold's Fit and liked it while I loved the dance, yoga and other classes. They could benefit from having some towels and more wipes to clean down equipment, but overall a good gym for the money. The review is more reflective of the business practices of Gold's vs. the individuals at the Bee Cave location.
