Find another gym if possible. This gym is consistently overcrowded in the afternoon/evenings, weekend hours are terrible, equipment is often either broken or on the verge of being broken. AC/Vents do not work properly in the free weight area, and the front desk indicates no active effort to fix it.

When I went to sign up for a membership, the representative told me that there wasn't a contract and in order to quit I could just pay for the next coming month. I now know that this was untrue. I never would have signed up if they were honest with me and now I'm stuck in a long contract, it seems really deceitful.

This is my favorite Gold’s in Austin. It’s super clean and the staff is incredibly friendly. Also, if you want the best workout of you life you MUST do bootcamp with Genesis! Can not recommend her class enough!!!

Just be careful of kids club hours. They will tell you the wrong time on the phone, you can also arrive and no one is staffing it. Happened 4 times. I did email management nothing...no response provided. If you call the front desk they will change the answer on hours. Pretty poor training. Also heat/AC really poor in gym a 1 star

Don't sign up at golds. When my card was compromised, they showered me with late fees and made that period of time even more difficult than it already was with being robbed and having to update all of my billing and card payment services. They also make canceling very difficult. You have to go in person. You cannot simply cancel online.

I've been coming here for 3 months now. Craig there old manager was very helpful and kind. Now they have a new manager named Justin. He is very impolite and rude. Puts off the I'm taking your money vibe. Another employee came up to me that was not wearing his uniform while I was working out after work. I wore Jean's and my work boots. He came up and as loudly as possible said sir I need you to start wearing workout clothing. I understand telling me this when everyone isn't staring but this was way out of line. I politely said okay I didnt know you had a dress code. Disgusting managment and disgusting employees. Take your money elsewhere. Quick update I cancelled my membership and got a confirmation number that it was cancelled. For the past few weeks they have been texting and calling me telling me my payment was declined. Once again having to call and deal with something that should have been delt with on their end. Terrible service. I'll never be going there again.

Good gym full of ordinary people of all shapes and sizes. Modest clothing required. A lot of equipment choices, and even at peek, I don't have much trouble getting on machines. A little crowded by the padded free-weights area during peek, though.

I've been a member for over four years. It's a nice neighborhood gym. When my wife went to China for six months they froze her account and the staff talked to me about making sure the freeze was working. I've seen guys have seizures and stuff there and the staff is cool-headed and responsive in emergencies. Most of my complaints are with the other gym members not putting stuff away after they use it, doing selfish "circuit" workouts that involve monopolizing as much equipment as possible, or dragging foam rollers away to completely inexplicable parts of the gym and leaving them there. (Maybe they're part squirrel?). Anyway, that's not the staff's fault. I've also met some really nice people at this gym.

I was in the middle of finishing my workout and an employee turned off the music and dimmed the lights. It was only around 7:40 and the gym was supposed to close at 8 pm. I felt rushed and really uncomfortable with finishing my workout, so I left upset and didn't even finish my last set. Another guy complained to the employee and he went back to turn on the lights (but not the music) with no care in the world. I've been on the fence of switching gyms and this may just be the reason to.

Been a member for 2.5 years. Seen a lot of (negative) changes as reflected in other posts in regards to attitude, safety, machinery, classes, etc. Few are trying/willing, but a great majority of the good folk are already gone. Exploring other options isn't so bad.
