Was hoping for the best but only getting worse after Bay Club acquisition. Been a member for over a decade. Today was our last day. Moving on because of upkeep messiness bad food and clueless customer service.

This gym is exceptional. It's huge! Basketball courts, new updated equipment, lots of free weights and a very friendly staff. One of the best gyms I've been to!

The personal trainers at club sport were rude, acted territorial like animals, the customer service was horrible and the clothing department was over priced. The food was over priced! The monthly dues at 138$ a month wasn’t the problem, it was the nobody’s who thought they were somebody!

The issue with Bay Club is a simple one. You sign up, and it's expensive. With that expense comes higher quality of individuals attending. However, they then nickel and dime for certain pro classes, rock climbing, summer camps, etc. It seems asinine to spend $220 per month for two people and then spend $200 for a 6 week group bodybuilding class or $40 to learn how to belay or rent equipment. If you do all the activities that seem interesting you can soar above $500/month easily for two people. Nickel and diming on top of the exorbitantly high monthly fee makes no sense and can only be explained by dropping numbers of memberships forcing price hikes.

After 5 years as a member, I give up. Frequent fee increases, construction rendering parts of the gym completely unusable for extended periods of time, and management that really doesn’t care if you’re able to get a good workout. If you have little kids you want to dump off while you walk on a treadmill for 45 minutes, this will work for you. If you don’t want people laying on the floor to stretch next to the weight bench or would rather not dodge teens on their phones loitering, there are other options. Save your money for a business that wants you there.

They have gone completely downhill. I’ve been billed at a different day of the month for over 8 months. Then told to call the billing department in California. So disappointed in their customer service and workout equipment. They need to update their weight area but won’t. I was told they are making a lot of improvements like towels in the locker room. The fact that we have towel service and just now got them in the locker room is embarrassing. It’s like having soap in the bathroom. That isn’t an improvement that is just common sense. Improvement would be better weight machines and stair steppers that don’t break everyday. Their main cable machine has been not working properly for 2 years, I can feel the weight of another person If we are using the machine at the same time. Also they never call you back and never follow through. Bad customer service!!!!! Totally not impressed and will be leaving.

I rarely make it into the Bay club due to commute the past year. The cost is just too high to visit the facility just once a month. Unfortunately, Bay Club does not offer any flexibility for working out just 1-2 times per month. After cancelling my membership after over 4 years, it took a few weeks for Bay Club to get back to me that my cancellation request has to be done through an online form. Ugh. After doing so I received notification I'd be charged a partial monthly bill. A month later they charged my account a full rate of $150. Now the club replies I have to cancel a month ahead of time in order to prevent being billed another month ahead of time, this makes no sense. So I would have had to cancel in December in order to not be charged for February... On top of that they increased my monthly membership over the past few months without notification by email or mail. Since canceling, do the math, $300 for one workout. That is quite a rip by this club.Bay Club I just may have stayed if you at least attempted to work out a way to retain a longtime member... but not at $150 a month. I don't know how your club can continue going like this. Times are changing, people are busy, commutes are bad, and costs are increasing. You need to offer an annual membership and charge a per visit fee. I just may have stayed. If it wasn't for such a nice facility I would be leaving a one star rating.

We loved this place when it was Club Sport, but unfortunately it's gone downhill since Bay Club took over. Rates were increased without notice, and will be increased again not even a year later. The EDGE facility has become overrun with small kids "supervised" (very, very loosely) by their parents, literally running around between people lifting, throwing chalk everywhere, messing with weights, while staff does nothing (the rules state that children under 11 need to be with a trainer). Equipment is frequently broken or missing. It's disappointing, as the location is so convenient- but the amenities no longer justify the sky-high rates.
