Twice this winter the showers were freezing cold, there was absolutely not hot water. It took over 2 weeks to fix each time. They did not communicate with members that there was no hot water, I guess it was meant to be a nice surprise... When I cancelled my membership, Katherine O'Connor provide very poor costumer service. I was charged an annual membership fee of $60 after I cancelled. I called in to discuss and they were unwilling to do anything about the charge and said that if I cared I should have come in sooner. Anyway, this gym is a disappointment, there is a lack of maintenance and the management at this place is unfortunate.

3/7/2019 - Updating becuase once again there was no hot water this morning. Wasn't told until i was already walking into the locker room and saw the sign i uploaded below. Also there are 6 stairmaster machines and FIVE are broken. 3 of which have been broked all year long....it's truly ridiculous.Agree with a previous rating that the location is truly the only redeeming quality of this BSC. Machines and TVs are often broken and they are CONSTANTLY running out of hot water. The water situation is the most frustrating part. It happened last winter as well...It’s in the same building as my office so it’s the most convenient location for me or I wouldn’t be going here any longer.

This location is most well kept location I go to except the spin bikes. Today I tried three bikes all three I had difficult time to adjust handle bars. I HATE the blue/black light in spin studio. It is harsh to my eyes so I try not go there if I can. Otherwise it is decent club.

Charged me 4 months worth of payments because of customer-manager miscommunication problems. They said that they would send me a cancellation email to proceed with refunds, but I haven't heard back from them at all. I called 8 times from South Korea where I'm currently serving in the military, but each and every time I called, they didn't sound like they were willing to help.

The location of this club is great, although, it is run down and very dirty. I sprained my ankle in a Zumba class because the wood floor is splintering and coming apart. The machines are outdated and used to belong to the prior sports club, which BSC took over. My ex boyfriend got an extremely bad staph infection from taking a shower here without sandals. The training sessions are very expensive and the quality of the trainers is inconsistent, so, you really have to do your research. I have been with BSC for over 10 years and the one consistent aspect is poor management; because of this, paperwork is often mishandled. Over the years, I've had at least a few instances in which I had false charges or price changes without my knowledge. Though, they are always apologetic and eventually get around to fixing the problems if you point them out. I've heard they were trying to fix their management/ corruption issues and I have not had any problems recently. I tried to avoid BSC for a while, but, they bought out every little gym I joined, so I finally gave in. Their best asset is accessibility;no matter where I am in the Boston area, I can easily find a BSC to get a work out in if needed. And, compared to other clubs in the area, their monthly rate is not too bad.

Great for a gym to go to during lunch. Their yoga classes could be in a better room and a bit more challenging. The space could use an upgrade. The womans locker room comes stocked with towels, hair dryer, shampoo/conditioner, body wash and mouth wash. It gets very busy during peak hours but still has plenty of space and machines to get a workout in.

I had first spoken to front desk about cancellation and they told me Manager will call me back. I did not hear from then, I had spoken to Member Services in May 2015 and had complained that I am getting charged for membership even though it’s supposed to be cancelled. They have this documented in the account that I had called. I had mentioned to them that I would like to talk to sports club to ensure I do not get charged for April/May and instead they noted I rather resolve the membership cancellation with the office directly and they never cancelled my and my wife’s account and kept charging $149 every month since then. Now when I called to ask why I am being charged they say that service was never cancelled so even though I had called but don’t have conformation there is nothing that can be done about the charges. I told them to pull up the recorded conversation ad they do record it and they said we will not be doing that. I cannot understand even though the notes show that I had called and we have not used the service why would they still want to charge.I use to love the place and use to recommend to any friend but cannot believe when had to cancel the membership they would do it this way.

The Prudential location is a great spot. The classes that this location offers are really good, with engaging and fun instructors. The equipment is updated and there are a lot of treadmills. It gets pretty busy around 6p, but that is to be expected.

After having worked out at the Fenway location for a couple of years, this location is such a step up. Both the size of the facility and the offerings in it are vastly improved. Plenty of lockers, larger towels, several water dispensers (not sure fountains) with cups. None of that begging for towels either, they are just out for the taking. Wide array of kettle bell weights. And the place is kept much better organized and tidy. The down side is that it gets VERY busy during peak hours with all the office buildings in the area.

The gym itself is nice but it gets a little crowded around 6pm when I go after work. The locker rooms are probably the nicest ones I have seen at any gym. I would probably give the gym 3 stars if it wasn't for the trainer Ian.I had a slipped disk in my lower back that I had seen numerous trainers and physical therapist about for years and made little progress. Within two times working with Ian my back felt so much better. We worked on my posture and strengthened muscles that were imbalanced. He showed me exercises to do on my own as well. He opened up a whole new world of fitness to me and I look and feel like a new person. Unfortunately I moved so I am no longer working with him but out of the many trainers that I have had he is by far the best. I would recommend going here just to train with him.
