Went to try a 3 day trial pass. Was treated poorly by the sales manager. He didn't even show us around the gym and spoke to me and my girlfriend very disrespectfully. He had typed my address incorrectly and when I said it was incorrect he shrugged, said nothing and didn't fix it. I won't be needing my other two days. There's tiles missing in the sauna. The locker room was gross. All around pretty dirty.

Have been a member for 6 years and have been disappointed the last couple of years. Literally half of the TV's are now on a 24 Hour Fitness station that continually runs a commercial for the gym - are they really marketing the gym to folks who are already members? This has only made folks I talk to want to quit the gym. Moreover, many of the audio jacks on the treadmills and stair climbers do not work, so we cannot hear the TV's. Some of these machines themselves also do not work.On the plus side, the pool is often uncrowded and many of the workers have been friendly and they all kindly change (non-24 Hour) channels when asked. Also, the rates have been low for us which has kept us at this gym. If you can obtain a low rate, this gym may be worth it; if your rate is close to that of another Boulder gym, consider the other gym.

I have been there for 3 months. The shower curtains have had masses of red mold mildew on them the entire time. No one cleans....They should be ashamed of these conditions...Where in the hell is the manager?i just tried to file a cleanliness complaint to 24 hr - corporate...but, strangely, couldn't get through the email panel...the security 'capture' code would not be accepted...no matter what I tried. I was in thecomputer biz for years by the way, so I don't think its me.24hr Fitness does NOT want to be contacted concerning the unclean conditions. Pretty amazing. All a manager has to do is walk back there.

I have been a member of 24 hour fitness for over 10 years. I have the all "sport" club pass. Recently they upgraded this club to a "Super sport" which would be fine if there was a "sport" club a reasonable distance away. Unfortunately the closest club is 16 miles away and a 25 minute drive. 24 hour fitness is doing a huge dis-service to all the long time members who have moved to Boulder and didn't set up their original accounts there. Members like myself who signed up with good lifetime deals are slowly being squeezed out of their clubs with these "upgrades" to disqualify them.

I can't believe all the negative reviews. Unfair. I've been going to this gym for more than 7 years. For $40 a month or less, you're not going to find a better gym. Lap pool, showers, plenty of changing area, sauna, steam room, hot tub, all the lifting equipment you could ever want, full basketball court, classes, plenty of plyometrics, and stretching area, more. It's clean enough, they get a lot of traffic, I think they have more than 10,000 members. Shut up and get your workout in, or spend $200 a month at another club.

Where are you people working out? Are you sure we're talking about the same place?! 24 Hour Fitness on Iris? I've been to countless clubs, all over the country. This has got to be one of the cleanest most well managed clubs I've ever visited. They have two employees perpetually circling the club with all manner of cleaning equipment; they have what they call an 'all-staff, deep clean' practically on the hour. The place sparkles! Sure, some of the equipment is dated which is why I gave the place four instead of five stars, but the employees are friendly, knowledgeable and responsive. Plus, the place has a steam room!

Dirty locker rooms, EXTREMELY pushy salesmen, terrible management. I originally went in to try the advertised 3 day trial, and I now regret not putting my foot down when the salesman insisted I buy a package. Total waste of money. I tried to address these and other issues with one of the managers. I was getting nowhere with him, and mentioned how close I was to writing a bad review. In response, he threatened to close my membership. I haven't been back since this happened, and highly doubt that I ever will.

The Good:The location is pretty good. The staff is both pretty helpful and knowledgeable. The equipment it mostly up and running in good condition most of the time. The Bad:Parking can be a bit of an issue. This is both a pro and a con though. Parking used to be better, but then the Walmart market came in next door. SO parking is an issue, but you can pick of a quick drink/snack after a workout. The Unfortunate:The club is really pretty useful if you are a fully abled person. However for someone like me with both back and nerve issues it’s not quite as accessible. And this is not due to the club itself so much as lack of understanding. I find myself going at odd hours trying to avoid other people who make it difficult for me to use the equipment. This also includes the pool and hot tub.My story:I lost the use of my right leg back in 2011 and was in a lot of pain. Turns out the disc between L4 and L5 had ruptured and sent material into my spinal column. Which in turn pressed on my spinal cord and caused my leg issues. After surgery I have regained use of my right leg again and am probably at 80% functionality now. Mostly meaning I can walk normally but trying to place a game of pickup would be very very difficult and likely painful to match. My back itself now has a damaged disc and will start the process of fusing over time. The things that helped the most with physical therapy were swimming and the hot tub. While I can’t kick swim I can do the Elementary Backstroke. Which is about it. Though with my physical size I have to use 2 of the four lanes in the pool to fit (my arm span is quite wide). However this is also for my and other swimmers safety. With the nerve damage to the right leg I won’t always feel if I kick someone. So I wait until the pool empty or near empty and avoid times where there a lot of users. Partly because it’s less trouble, but also because people don’t seem to care and try to swim and or block my 5-10 minutes session. The same can also be said for the hot tub. Using the hot tub it relieves pressure on my spine and allows me a bit of piece in what is normally a fully active set of core muscles that have to go all day. I run the hot tub without the jets because the jets don’t allow me to relax my core (makes it very unstable for my back basically). (Also for clarification whether the jet are on or off, it’s still a tub and it’s still hot, therefore still a hot tub.). I wait until the Jet’ers are done then head in. Looking to get at most a 5 minute session. The problem is at this club you have a basically three different types of people. You have the Jet’ers that don’t respect anyone else and even if there are three people in the hot tub enjoying it without jet’s they turn them on without asking and get in. The Second type of Jet’er will be passive aggressive about it. They will ask and when you say just a few more minutes they go into a rant that this is a hot tub and jets are the only way to enjoy it. Sometimes these type will let you finish you few minutes and sometimes the will just say you have to wait until they are done. And then there is the non-jet’ers. We are either non-jet’er because we are disabled, partially disabled or just plain like the hot tub without jets. We usually don’t speak up or out. We generally take the abuse that’s doled out at the club because we don’t want to start trouble with the Neanderthal in front of us or it’s just become to tying to try and have any rights there.Final:My final advice for you is that if you are not a fully abled person the main part of the gym is fine for the most part. However if you want to have access to the pool it will be limited. And if you want fair access to a hot tub, buy your own. Trust me it will be less trouble. (They don’t even post a sign suggesting jet’ers share with non-jet’ers)

24 Hour Fitness is cheap. Which means the locker room is perpetually dirty, someone else's hair clogs the shower drain, and there are always a few pieces of equipment either broken or scarily rickety. It's the kind of place where you don't take your shoes off and must wear gloves when the machines and weights. That said, you never have to wait for a cardio machine, the pool is kept at a bracing but tolerable temperature, and the showers are surprisingly hotThe thing to remember -- and that I have to keep reminding myself -- is you get what you pay for.
