Often crowded. Inexplicably few weight benches and dumbbells, which you always have to wait for, along with all the cable machines, but they have a ton of unused treadmills and ellipticals. Two rail-based racks for all your squats, bench press, and deadlift-- why are there only two?? Staff is friendly and helpful. Locker rooms are enormous and pristine. Nobody ever talks to me when I'm there, which is pretty cool I guess

They have a lot of equipment. $10 per month for regular workout please take my money. It's a little crowded in the evenings. The staff are good at keeping it clean and knowledgeable staff. They have upgraded a bit after the pandemic but they have still maintained their standards.

My fiancé went in person to cancel his membership (as is ridiculously required by Planet Fitness policy). The gym’s system was down and so he was unable to cancel the membership, even though he had made an in person trip specifically to do so. We moved out of MA the next day, but the gym has refused to make an exception and cancel his membership via phone, even though it was the gym’s fault that its system was down when he went in person. Ridiculously bad service. Anyone would be frustrated by this situation.EDIT - PF responded by uselessly restating their cancellation policy (in person at the club or via mail) and not addressing the fact that my fiancé did attempt to cancel in person at the club, and was prevented from doing so because PF’s own system was down. The PF management could and should have offered to take his signature while he was there in person, and/or make an exception in his case since he visited the club in person to cancel and it was PF’s own malfunction that prevented this. Really frustrating to just get a stock response that doesn’t actually address the situation here.

Tiny, overcrowded free weights section surrounded by a sea of unused treadmills. In the last several years I've never seen more than half of them in use at any one time. Makes absolutely no sense.Edit: lowering from 3 stars to 1. It has been absolutely impossible this summer to use any of the weights or machines, it is way too crowded yet the oversized cardio section of the gym remains half empty. Very frustrating. After a several years of membership I finally had to cancel, since I'm just wasting my time and money at this point. Management absolutely nowhere to be found despite corporate imploring people to contact him, but I assume they know this perfectly well since they provide no address/phone at which to do so.Cheapest gym around so a lot of weirdos seem to have descended on this place since COVID mania has started to die down. My wallet was stolen from one of the lockers here by a homeless guy that, according to the police, has been busted here on numerous occasions.

This gym is constantly not opening on time. There are countless times a group of people are waiting at the door at the posted time it should be open and having to wait for someone to arrive and open the gym. Today the lad was asleep on the couch in the Black Card lounge while quite a few of us were waiting to get in. We knocked and tried calling the gym multiple times but there they slept. It wasn't until 20 minutes after us waiting at the door that the security guard went in and woke them up to let us in. This has been an ongoing issue for months.

Really small compared to other PF gyms, which makes sense given the location, but there's so much broken equipment here, and it never gets fixed. Sinks and toilets are constantly out of order, as is at least one of the massage chairs. Not worth the full price of a black card membership if this is going to be your home gym.

This is a great place to work out. I’ve been a member now for almost 3 months and it really has given me the tools to succeed. If you have a bit extra to spend, get the black card. You can bring a guest every day and use the hydro tables and massage chairs. I was skeptical about the extra cost until I tried the hydro table, I don’t know a lot of folks here so it was about the in gym perks for me.The staff is fantastic and very friendly and the gym stays pretty clean. My only wish would be that you could rent a monthly locker and not have to bring your workout gear with you each time.A major plus for any LGBTQ folks, with the exception of one other guest being rude, the gym is extremely trans friendly, they even have trash cans in the mens stalls. I’ve also noticed they’re awesome with all of the LGBTQ community, but being trans myself, I found the extra touch in the bathroom commendable.

The planet fitness cambridge ma location continues to get worse and worse -- as you can see, if you sort these reviews by most recent. And I have been going here for 3+ years. Where to start? One of the 3 sinks in the men's room has been broken for weeks. The desk is chronically understaffed, which is probably the cause of dispensers being empty of both hand soap and paper towels frequently. The water fountain/water dispensing mechanism had not worked for over a week, which is really indefensible since hydrating during exercise is critical. Each time I go, there are less and less cup holders for your water bottle on the bikes and elipticals, and you have to keep switching them from active or the broken equipment. It would be difficult to recommend this gym to anyone. The only positive is that recently -- after months -- they finally got 1 of the 2 hydromassage couches to work adequately. I plan to start checking other gyms in the area.

The gym seems to be consistently under-staffed, and there are never enough towels and cleaning spray. Some machines (for example, one of the rowers) are constantly out of order, and there’s always a lack of soap in the men’s bathroom. I’m a member because it’s cheap, convenient, and never too badly crowded, even during peak hours. However, if a different gym opened nearby with comparable rates I’d strongly consider switching. The Watertown PF is far better.

EDIT: September 2022 it was ok for a few months but it’s back to not opening on time. 20+ minutes of waiting and nobody showed to open the gym. Terrible service for the twenty people waiting. Literally never seen another business this bad at opening.March 3rd 2022 STILL an issue. Twice at least this week no one was there at opening. Absolutely horrendous service and waste of timeEDIT Jan 19 22; STILL an issue. Waited 30 minutes and had to leave before anyone showed up. Still a massive waste of time.EDIT Jan 9 2022: Late opening at least 3 times this week by 15 minutes. Today we’ve been waiting over 35 minutes and nobody has shown up. Huge waste of timeI’ve never seen a business struggle so much to open on time. Been a member for years and at least 25% of the time I wait 20-30 minutes for someone to unlock the door in the morningEDIT: this is still happening. Manager is aware and unable/unwilling to fix it
