This is my favorite gym! The staff is nice and helpful. I usually don’t have to wait for a machine or massage chair. The only thing that I don’t like is some people do not wipe their machine down after they use it...I don’t understand that mentality!

Now that this gym is FINALLY open, I've had a chance to actually test it out. So far so good. It's bright, fresh, clean, and when I went, totally uncrowded and I definitely felt like I had the run of the place.Downstairs you'll find the weight machines and the locker rooms. If you're a Black Card member, you'll also find the "spa" which contains all the extra stuff you get with that membership (hydro-massage, tanning beds, etc.). You'll also find the locker rooms. The men's locker room contains plenty of free lockers with built-in combination locks, toilets, and four shower stalls. There's also private changing stalls adjacent to the showers.Upstairs is the cardio area. Plenty of treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, blah blah. Each has a TV attached to it, with 11 channels. One is the PF TV channel for listening and watching the music and music videos they're playing throughout the gym, and the rest are more or less local channels and news. TIP: bring plug-in headphones if you want to listen to the TV. The only way to hear the TV audio is to plug in at the machine you're on. Each machine also has a USB port for charging your phone. A nice touch. One thing I did notice though, is that while there is a QR code that you can scan to supposedly connect to the machine with your phone and sync your data, it doesn't seem to work. I googled the issue and it seems Planet Fitness doesn't have the server inside the gym to sync up the data from the machines. So it's useless. If you want to sync your data, download the PF app which makes you take a picture of the screen when you're finished. It works, but meh, would have been nice to have it sync with your phone automatically.

Love love love this location! Has that brand new smell and it’s so clean. The staff there is really friendly and helpful, they have lockers so you don’t need to bring your own combo which is convenient!Don’t listen to the people giving this place a bad review and it had not being open yet, not fair! Glad I joined and waited👍🏼

Amazing for the cost. This gym has freaking fantastic showers, and is rather spotless inside. For the Black Card holders, the hydromassage tables here do NOT go flat, if that is something you are looking for.

Third day this place opened (without any announcement) and I was turned away at the door and told by a staff member it was closed due to plumbing issues without any idea as to when it would open again. Good job on this first week of being opened. What happened to delaying the opening so this gym could be “perfect”. What a joke.

Signed up in December and was told January. I got tired of calling and asking the three musketeers up front when they were opening. All they kept telling me "next month". Poor business practices! Made me go to the National City Planet Fitness which by the way is nasty. I think the homeless have memberships to use the showers in the morning. So much inconvenience. So many lies and deceptions. Should've just kept my membership at Anytime Fitness. You get what you pay for. Membership has been free since December, at the expense of convenience.

OK, so my first day. The gym is super clean and has lots of machines. I loved the hydro message, that was really nice. Overall for the price it's awesome. I can totally see this place getting packed at peak times but hopefully not for awhile.

I wasn’t enjoying my experience at Crunch gym, so I decided to try out Planet Fitness now that this place finally opened...WOW! This place is beautiful for its price! I am used to small budget gyms but this place is very spacious, 2 stories and they even have their own stretching room. TVs are connected to some of their cardio equipment, which I liked. The lockers are soooo spacious! They also have their own locking system (I wish I knew before I bought my own lock!) I am very impressed so far, I work right here at the mall so I’ll be coming here everyday before work. :)

I understand a lot of people are not happy with this planet fitness, understandably so: they failed to communicate effectively with customers that signed up, and opening date kept shifting. That said, I finally got a workout in today at Planet fitness in Otay Ranch and here is my experience.Upon arrival, I was greeted by the staff, they processed my membership, and proceeded to give me a tour of the club. My work out was great. There are a variety of machines— all of top quality, and good for all levels of fitness. I like the full body workout room; it’s a 30 minute workout and essentially takes the thinking out of it. Finally, the best part of my experience was the hydro massage bed. Oh my goodness!! It was awesome!!In sum, if you haven’t actually been there, don’t judge by the negative comments. I hope this helps!

I walked in yesterday signing up for the Teen Summer Challenge. At first a girl was alone at the desk but then she got back up right away, so that’s good. The sign up was very quick. I remember it being an REI so when it turned into a gym, it looked small. But for sure, the gym was super nice and clean. The plumbing issue has to due with the showers. Final conclusion, the place is nice and very clean. Everyone minds their own business but my friend asked for a spotter and the old man was kind enough to join in for some bench presses. The place has a lot of machines, but it can get crowded in the future when people realize how good of a gym this place is.
