Significant issues with cleanliness in pool and locker areas, ridiculously expensive. This place is going down fast, lots of employee turnover

BEWARE!!!! I was overcharged monthly for classes and training that I had canceled and I have tried to resolve them direct with the club before disputing them on my card. They are unresponsive and keep charging the card. Finally had to cancel membership to make it stop. They are a billing machine with ZERO customer service to back it up.

I really wanted to get a membership back at lifetime. Not a fan of my current gym and I’ve always liked lifetime. So I spent the $40 for the day pass. YES $40 TO WORKOUT FOR 2 hours. I haven’t been to this location in about 2 years. And was very shocked to see that literally nothing has changed about this place. Nothing new and exciting. But they want to charge $140 for a membership?!? So no updates have been made to this place since the last time I was here two years ago. Where is all that membership money going? They surely don’t have a lack of memberships due to how busy this gym always is. Also paid $70 for a membership at the time as well. I mean what a joke. I refuse to sign up at this gym now. Such greed from this company. There super small shakes even cost $10 now. They used to be actually affordable. Why would a company make, living a healthy lifestyle so expensive. Such a shame.

Long time member, very disappointed with child care hours. How are there no hours on Friday, Saturday or Sunday night. Especially Friday nights? For as much as we pay there should be more child care hours available! Now they want more money for the outdoor pool that has always been included in the membership. I have been a member since 2009! This is ridiculous. Don't bother coming here they nickel and dime for everything. I have always loved it but this is not ok.

Very expensive and not up to the standards. Used to be cleaner and well administered. Now, its only higher membership more fees but not improved.update. March 2023 I can say that the place is getting better.

My youngest is in swim lessons there, my oldest learned how to swim at the Vernon Hills location o a decade ago. They have amazing teachers and instructors. They’ve been updating all the equipment and the facility the last few years as this is the first Lifetime club that was built in Illinois. I do wish it had an indoor soccer field like VH but other than that all amenities are worth the cost.

For the money they charge they should be 24hrs instead the gym is overpacked in the evenings to a point where you have to wait for equipment. If u come with a partner forget about getting two treadmills next to one another. Last night i changed treadmills 3 times because they were either not operational or made weird noises. Seems to me like they have way too many members and now its overcrowded. I dont worry about covid but if you do this is definitely not a place for you. They have a great kids club for the little ones but thats where the good things end. Water in the pool was so heavily chlorinated it hurts your eyes. Now the pool is closed because the water is supposably getting replaced( maybe it will address the chlorine concern). The slides are almost never open so why even have them? lifetime needs to open another location in the area. I am seriously considering quitting due to the overcrowding. Even when i have a day off from work and come in the middle of the week at 10am its crowded. Evening are unbearable. I was offered free swimming lessons for my 6 year old. Now for a month i have been trying to get charges reversed from the aquatics department and they are still charging me. I spoke to everyone there (when they chose to pick up the phone) i was told on several occasions that the charges will be reversed and i will not be charged but they sure keep going. I would be very careful signing up to anything in that club. It seems easy to get charged for things you never used but impossible to stop them from taking money out of your account without your permission. After several attempts someone finally stopped the charges but my money was refunded in weird amount which did not total up to the actual charges but after dealing with it for a while i just let it go.

Worth every penny if you’re looking for a nice, clean gym, with lots of weight & cardio equipment. For beginners - advanced. Would recommend.
