Planet Fitness

Was really excited to return back to the gym after Planet Fitness announcement of Aug 1 all members are required to wear face masks. Well, thats not necessarily true. After walking through the door and checking in, nobody was required to wear a mask. And yes i get it, masks are not fun to wear and make it harder to workout. But in an environment where everyone is having droplets out of their mouths i personally don't feel safe in Planet Fitness lack of safety precautions. No temp checks, face masks are optional, social distancing only at cardio equipment, didn't see any cleaning or equipment sanitizing. Canceling memberships for myself, wife, and kids.Really sad to see Planet Fitness only caring about monthly membership and not their customers health. The whole point to the gym is to be healthier.

I enjoyed getting back to my workouts. Although masks are required, not many people were wearing them when they were walking around the gym. However, I can definitely understand taking it off at your workout station.

Staff is friendly!....let's keep them PLEASE. :)Club is big with lots of equipment....although they should probably get a couple of boxes for exercises like step ups or box jumps. They have it on the rig in the back of the club, but doesn't help if someone is already utilizing the rig. Plus it will keep people from using the benches to do these types of exercises. Please get some jump boxes!Back to the what I like...Club is clean for the most part. The staff is always cleaning.Massage beds and chairs are also a plus!Very convenient location and you can't beat the hours! I've been a member since the club opened.

Called a handful of times to cancel my membership. The first time I called they said it was cancelled and I would not be charged again. I have been charged 2 times since I cancelled, both transaction for $40 each, even though I signed up for the $20 a month membership. Even tried calling corporate and they couldn’t do anything about it. They told me the only way to cancel would be to come in, I moved out of state, so clearly that is not something that I can do. They even told me on the phone that can’t refund me the money I was charged over that past 2 months when I cancelled my membership.Save your money, there’s definitely better gyms out there that care about people and are definitely more understanding.

Place is clean and a lot of cardio machines as well as weight lifting machines. Plenty of disinfectant and hand sanitation stations. Also 3 different workout areas, stretching, 30 min full-body area and resistant workout area. Plenty of tvs around, free weights and benches. Bathrooms look good, Plenty of lockers but need your own lock, got some showers as well. Pretty much has everything you need to have a good work out at a very good price.

The staff is awesome! They go out of their way to help in any way. I have a back issue & someone from the staff gave me special exercises to do and even a recommendation for a great physical therapist:) Everyone makes sure to say hello & good bye every single time and seems like they take the time to get to know you. It's VERY clean, bathrooms included. This Planet Fitness is a pleasure to routinely work out at!

Visited this location while visiting family in Elgin. I have to say, Raquel Mance made it worth the visit. She’s a great person with a vibrant personality. Glad I got a chance to meet her.

Eight months ago I finally got the guts to go up to a trainer and ask for help. I said "I know I'm too out of shape and too old to step up to the front of the gym and work out"...as I talked, Tom, the trainer at the Elgin Planet Fitness …

Great place to work out. Equipment is in good condition and the ladies behind the desk are always helpful. Best of all I feel comfortable working out at this gym!

This is an extremely clean gym, and it truly is a judge-free zone. There are people of literally all ages working out at this gym. The black card is definitely worth it if you like a workout buddy.
