The Edge Fitness Clubs

I love this place. It's great being able to use the treadmill while watching a movie, the employees are really nice. The protein shakes are delicious. But It would be Great if the gym was open 24 hours like most gyms are now. It would really help, especially for those who work until after midnight and are only able to get to the gym late at night.

I wish I could rate this place lower than zero. Management doesn’t care about customers, they just want your money. If you have a complaint they will pretend they care and promise to take an action but they will do NOTHING! I recommend to look for different fitness!

PLEASE READ EVERYTHING BEFORE SIGNINGIf you choose to cancel your membership before the end of your term, you either need doctors note saying you can’t physically workout for the next 6 months, can’t move or are disabled. It’s a beautiful gym but they try to trap you. The guy didn’t even tell us what would happens if we wanted to end out membership until it was too late.

Right when my daughter turned 18 she went there just to check it out. The guy there pressured her into an up-sale (higher priced membership than she wanted). I went there with her and explained to the manager that she had just turned 18 and she felt pressured and did not want this membership. He informed me that she was put on a 2 year contract. My daughter was absolutely floored and stated no one told her it was a 2 year contract. My daughter thought she was signing a Liability Waiver. Unfortunately teens are more trusting rather than looking over what they are signing when the company is not being upfront. They said there is nothing they can do and they will not cancel or at least decrease the contract to the more affordable membership. They said she is only allowed to upgrade and not decrease. When children first turn 18 unfortunately they are easily manipulated. They saw my child as an easy target. They have low morals. I do NOT recommend!UPDATE: They did reach out to me on 12/17/2019. I spoke with Anton that runs the gym. He stated he was going to cancel my daughters membership due to the circumstances. My daughter has been charged every month since her membership was supposedly cancelled. My daughter was just charged again last week. I have spoken with Anton every time my daughter gets charged. In February 2020 Anton assured me that was the final charge and she would not be charged again. She continues to be charged for the membership. This complaint has NOT been resolved and Edge Fitness is not holding up their end of the agreement. This is highly unprofessional.

Cool gym.What's unique about it: the cinema room is where you can do your cardio and watch a whole movie. It's pretty cool.Childcare room from 12 weeks to 12 years.Group classes.I enjoyed my 3-day trial pass.

I signed up here and I’m paying more because they have women only area but I get no privacy, several times someone would be filming or having live sessions. I talked to managers several times they will apologise and promise will take care of it but they do nothing.

TL;DR: CYNICAL, DISHONEST business that tries to game customers by locking them into an year’s contractImpossible to cancel gym membership in case of a job loss. This is a very cynical way of running a fitness business.Once you cancel the membership, there is a 30-day “cooling off” period where you’ll still be billed.Edge Fitness locations in Connecticut don’t have a contract that locks you in for 12 or 24 months like their Michigan locations do.Edit and response to owner’s reply on Dec 15 2022:Yes, I did email edge fitness with my concerns.If you as a business are expecting customers to read the fine print with a “cover your ass” mindset, then you’re just a cynical rent-seeker.

I barely come here to work out but the few times I come is huge disappointment! still I haven’t cancelled my membership (40us btw) in hopes this gym goes back to what it used to be 2 years ago when I enrolled here. The guy at the front desk tried to deny my 14 year old daughter to come in when she’s been working out with me multiple times already that same guy is the one who cuts off the music at 6:30 pm on the weekends to make your workout more enjoyable. So sad with the latest customer service you guys have.

I watched the cleaning crew clean the toilet with the toilet water this week. Use the bathroom without washing their handsAlso it’s a custodial employee that will basically vacuum your feet while you are working out. You can be on a machine and he will vacuum under the machine while you are using it.Besides that it is a gym.
