It was a good place, now don’t waste your money. I have a membership through the end of the year, but I’ll join another gym as soon as I find one. This gym was too crowded to get a workout in often, but now Midtown location closed and this gym is mostly unusable. In slack times, the garage is full, every piece of equipment I wanted was in use. I think it will soon be as dirty as midtown was, who can clean when it’s packed.Follow up 4 weeks later. Its worse than ever. What used to be the most slack time now was packed. Furthermore, they apparently removed two racks of dumbells, I never got to use the weight i wanted -- I waited for every workout station. Worse they are advertising specials -- I guess they don't want renewals.24 Hour fitness is good at talking your money but being able to work out is another matter. I had one gym close a few years ago and made a longer commute to midtown. After Covid I discovered the West University Place location, now It is futile to go there. I can't wait for competition to open.

It's an average commercial gym that could use improvements. I've been coming to this location for a good 7-8 years. In that time, I've seen a decline in some areas that can be attributed to corporate like closing the Kids Area and getting rid of towel service, but I've seen little improvements like not allowing the cleaning solution bottles to become empty. I can tell that there's been an increase in patrons since the Midtown location was shut down at the end of May 2023. This location, the Richmond Ave., and the Heights locations are now the only locations inside or adjacent to 610, and this location seems to have taken on most of the former Midtown crowd. That means even in non-peak time, there might be a wait for benches and machines. People are nice about working in, but it can be inconvenient when you're pressed for time. The cardio machines are in fair condition. They've been replaced during my time there, but some still need maintenance. Cleaning staff is visible wiping down machines/equipment and cleaning mirrors. I don't use the locker rooms, so I can't speak to their cleanliness. The parking garage is a tight, dark, dank place (even in the daytime) that needs better lighting 24/7 to help with security and to help see pedestrians and cars coming around the tight turns. Security is in the form of a Rice Village Shopping Center patrol vehicle driving through the garage occasionally. Previously, someone would man the booth in the garage or would patrol on foot. In all, it's ok for my needs, but could be better.

Update 5/23 This gym is not safe. Lockers are broken into regularly. There are clearly professional thieves working the locker rooms. Do not use the locker room. Cars are regularly broken into in the parking structure. It's just not safe.Increasingly, there are a small number of people in the gym who have a chip on their shoulder. They are hostile and anxious to intimidate. They "park" on one or more machines at a time and will not move for their perceived "oppressors." With no oversight of the locker room or weight room, personal safety is a concern. Do you really need this in a gym?Pros: Lots of cardio equipment, weights, etc. Staff are generally pleasant. Very rarely wait for a machine until recently. Easy, but dangerous parking. Affordable.Cons: Simply not safe.Men's showers are filthy. No towel service. Soap dispensers run out. Shower valves sometimes don't work, drains plugged. Very, very slow to fix things. Bathrooms only get a light cleaning. Staff is supposed to sell memberships and personal training; zero help learning machines, etc.Overall: The gym business is challenging. Perhaps that, political lockdowns, and their California taxation explains the lack of investment and cleaning. This gym really needs to step up cleaning and dealing with hostile clients. Crime is a growing problem and I'm not sure what 24HR can do about it.

Its middle of the road in every way. Used to be my favorite 24 in houston, now its overcrowded all the time. All the equipment aside from the relatively new olympic Power racks are old, rusty and frequently broken. Mens locker room is disgusting now (even for a mens locker room). It always smells. The showers dont drain well. Also annoying they dont offer towels. Half the treadmills upstairs barely function. The worst thing about it is how unusable it anytime from 3pm to 8pm because how crowded it gets. I used to get there at 3-4pm after work and it'd be crowded, but now you have to wait half an hour (or get very lucky) if you want a squat rack, flat bench or Leg press. Not really the gums fault, houston has grown and 24 hadnt added new locations inside the loop to disperse the crowds.

I took the 3 day free pass and I am glad that I didn’t enroll in this gym. It is disgusting, smells and dirty. They should invest a little bit in the hygiene. Don’t waste your money or your time!

If I can give them 1 star I will do that. The managers are the worse. I went to cancel my membership in March 31st. But they made the request on April 3 because they wanted to charge the monthly membership. Please go to another gym.

Been a member there for years. They went bankrupt during COVID, but now is packed. I see very little evidence any of all the new money has gone back into club or benefit of its members.Maintenance is sporadic at best. Usually some broken machines is common. Things seem worn and seldom does anything new appear.Cars are broken into in the unguarded garage to steal property (mine included). To me doesn’t even seem like a safe place.

Best workout here! If you want variety in your workouts this is a great gym to come start broadening those horizons.
