Not a good experience at this location. First and most likely last visit here. I did not feel welcomed at this location. Nor did I feel like I belonged. The cleanliness was the first thing I noticed. I was put in a tanning bed where the room was filthy. Looked as if it hadn't been swept or mopped all day. There was old tanning lotion on the walls. When I got in the bed I instantly noticed at least 3 bulbs out in this particular bed. I kept waiting for the tanning bed to get "hot". It never did. These bulbs seemed far past the time to change them. The bed itself looked wore out. I left no one looked up and acknowledged me. So disappointing as I had intended to change my home location to this one but after my first visit I couldn't imagine going there everyday. Many people have told me this is not the nicest of the all the locations around guess I had to find out for myself. Too bad because the area is a desirable area. I love planet fitness just not this one.

This is a good place to work out. It's cheap, clean and has a wide variety of machines and weights. The staff is nice and a lot of the people are friendly. The atmosphere is nice. It doesn't have pools or basketball courts or anything, but it's great as a basic gym.

Yikes. I came by to check if my black card worked fine as I'm away from my hometown where I usually go, and this place is awful. Extremely hot, smells disgusting, and absolutely crammed with people. Literally all the machines just crammed together in one tiny room with no organization. Plus the staff was awful. Two employees stood at their computers flat out ignoring me. Finally one just yelled "you all set?" and wouldn't even look at me. It made me feel really out of place and uncomfortable, almost as if I don't belong there and aren't worth their time because I'm out of shape. Massive disappointment as the one in my hometown is fantastic.

Planet Fitness is great and affordable, however this specific gym used to be my go to when I was visiting home. But now that the student participant has grown it has begun to take over, it is extremely dirty and smells as if the restrooms haven't been cleaned in quite sometime. I love planet fitness but this one needs some work. They need to open a second location near campus now that it is becoming over populated!

I had a great experience here today! The lady that checked me in to tan, but it hadn’t been over 24 hours yet (about 23 hours and 45 minutes so it was close). She was nice enough to swipe me in under her name. When I was walking out I wanted to buy a $10 lotion. She took my card to swipe it then said “here you know what? Try this lotion it’s amazing. I’ve been giving some out. Take this instead!” She was such a sweet lady. I always have a good experience here, but this was above and beyond!

I really enjoy this gym. The staff is friendly, and the facilities are clean, if bare-bones. (I really wish there was a squat rack, because i can't get the weight I want to squat onto my shoulders without assistance.) A LOT of student members. Overall a pretty friendly crowd.

I am very satisfied with the workout equipment, cleanliness of the bathrooms, showers, locker room, and more. I have always enjoyed going to this location and have had no desire to go to any other.I would give this a five star rating for the staff too but on more than one occasion as of late, new people have asked to scan my black card to use the tanning bed. I never had to do that before. Now I understand that they are following "policy" or atleast I assume they are, but tonight there was a man that pissed me off.He asked for my name three times and kept pulling up the wrong people and being condescending to me as if I was lying that I should be there in the first place. He was even the one that scanned me in when I first got there. When I asked if he was new after he finally found me and asked me other questions he asked why. I told him it was because this was taking a long time. He told me "that is because maybe he wasn't in a rush." His rudeness and condescending nature is a complete 180 from all the other staff I have ever dealt with. His name is Juan, and he needs to be taught how to talk to people if he is going to last in the customer service industry.

So far my experience has been pleasant. I enjoy the machines and free weights area it has to offer and the other amenities that go along with the black card membership as well. I generally go in the morning so the gym traffic is usually very light. The workers at the front are generally unresponsive to most requests except for Ernesto. Anything I need while I'm there he's the only one that seems to want to make my experience the best it can possibly be. He is the only one I usually see on a consistent basis making sure that all areas are clean and have clean towels to wipe down machines.

I love the Okemos location. It is my home away from home. I consider the manger my "gym" mom. She always goes out of her way to help me. Over all the staff is great. The facility is super clean. I always see someone cleaning. Lots of up to date equipment. I also enjoy the fitness training classes.

Let me just start off by saying that the establishment itself is very clean and well put together. It offers a wide variety of every exercise tool that you could ask for and the people that choose to workout there are very nice. THAT is the only reason that I give it three stars. However, every single employee that I have come across in the five months that I have been going there has been the rudest bunch of individuals I have ever met. That is coming from someone who has worked in customer service based jobs all their life. The only two who have been kind or even courteous are the night time custodial worker with prior military service, and a young lady who used to work nights who I no longer see anymore. I go in to workout 3-6 times a week at varying parts of the day and every single time that I make my way to that front desk I am greeted by someone who is sarcastic, short, and ill mannered. This is supposed to be a motivating and nonjudgmental environment but I always leave there feeling irritated due to these people. I don't expect you to spit out rainbows or perform a dance routine about how excited you are for me but I do expect you to at least be kind and look like you don't want to shank me for walking threw that door to come workout. The guests that I used to bring with me to initiate into the gym lifestyle don't even want to come with me anymore because of how awful they were to them. In their eyes they are treated like the commercials that you preach against. I am an extremely patient person and it has taken me 5 months to get to this point of irritation. Go here for the workout equipment and fellow gym nuts but I would avoid spending any time at the front desk.
