I honestly love the Black Card features. After my long day at work I love to enjoy a massage. I just pop in real quick and take the stress off. I have really enjoyed the circuit training for my workout, fast and focused keeps me on track. the Staff is very helpful and always available.

They are open 24/7 making it convenient for anyone to use. Price of plans are very reasonable. Employees are very helpful. I use my membership as a way to do physical therapy by walking on the treadmill & I never have had to wait for one. Also the facility is always clean.

I love coming to this gym! But recently the staff have been overwhelmingly rude and have acted in a very unprofessional manner . More specifically the heavy set girl on the left and older bald man to her side, I was yelled at and mistreated for using the wifi instead of working out. I pay for the membership! Why is internet use without working out an issue? I was using an unoccupied tanning room and instead of asking politely to leave the room so other people can use the tanning rooms (no one was using any of the 8 tanning rooms) I was yelled at and talked down to. Even threatened to be kicked out. This behavior is despicable, where is common courtesy? Im so disgusted Im cancelling my years long membership. I urge the public to take care of themselves and not to be mistreated, Planet Fitness is Public Bullying at its worse.

Very nice! They have very new equipment. The place is clean. The crew is friendly. It's not overcrowded. And I really appreciate that the bathrooms don't have motion sensors. My last gym had motion sensors and they were out of order more often than not. Not to mention they always turned on or off when you least needed them to.

A new policy dictates that personal towels must be kept in the cup holders on the machines- which seems to utterly defy logic. A place in which wet drinks are stored, should not be the same location that anything dry should be smushed into. I learned that months ago when I set my phone and headphones into a cup holder and then proceeded to twist a wet earbud down my canal. My bad. Today, after good a run, I plunged my face into dank, mystery moistness. Yum.Planet Fitness is a squeaky clean place and the peeps are very friendly. You can't prevent Bubba Townie from slurping down a protein shake on the treadmill. But please execute a bit of common sense on this one and either provide towels so people don't have to bring their own onto the workout floor, or offer an alternative storage protocol of personal towels. It sucks because I do like this place for the most part- it's cheap, very convenient, and I think most of the people working there are incredibly nice- so can't we please just fix the towel issue?

I love the gym! It is a great facility and my fiancé and I get to work out together. The staff are very helpful and courteous and professional. I would recommend this facility to everyone I know! And there are no hidden fees like some people say, they explain in detail what to expect up front and I like that about them! Plus the unlimited tanning and massaging chairs and beds are awesome! I love the fact that I designed my own workout and they actually listened to me about what I needed and wanted to work on!

So, like every gym, they screw you left and right on fees but on top of that, every employee tells you a different story and no one does anything they say they will. So I asked for the owners name and number and was transferred to him. He is the worst example of a human, let alone a business owner. Not only didn't he let me speak, he talked over me the ENTIRE TIME and laughed at me. Then, when I got furious and started yelling and cussing because he continuously pushed me by laughing, interrupting and ignoring me, he hangs up on me. So I call back even more livid and he instantly begins yelling at me like he's an abusive boyfriend, telling me he's not going to help me if I maintain that attitude. First of all, he wasn't helping me when I wasn't pissed so that's no surprise. Second, you're stealing my money and lying to me so, if you don't listen, my lawyer will get your attention. Finally, he tells me that he knows his employees don't know what's going on and they're working on it. Classy. I'm pissed, yes. I'm sure others enjoy it like I did until I needed to end my membership. This person who owns this planet fitness needs to be out of a job and fast. I'm working on that because I don't think anyone should experience what I've experienced during the past 4 months of trying to end my membership. I'm not going to pay some loser's bills while he yells at me in an abusive manner. I literally felt threatened. I'm a business owner and I don't screw people over for one, but I sure as hell don't yell at them or laugh until they become infuriated. Talk about the ultimate trash. He also refused to give me his name. Nice.

Up until yesterday (10/20/13) I would have given this gym 5 stars. I have been a member of PF since it opened its doors for business here in Lubbock a couple of years ago. I love the facility. Most of the non-management staff have always been friendly and helpful. The equipment is all new, functional, and the place is very clean.Yesterday (10/20/13), I was interrupted while running on a treadmill when a heavy-set elderly woman whom I have only seen working there recently came up to me rudely demanding that I move my bag to a locker. I told her no and explained that I keep my inhaler in that bag, which I needed to keep with me at all times. She threatened to get the manager if I did not comply with her demand, so I told her to do whatever she felt she needed to do, but I was continuing my workout. Sure enough, a couple minutes later, the assistant manager "Victoria" came up to me, once again interrupting my workout, and once again, rudely demanding that I move my bag to a locker. I've brought this same little light-weight cinch-bag in every day I have ever came into this place for a couple of years now, and suddenly they had a problem with me carrying my bag with me? I was told that corporate came in recently and found they were not enforcing this rule that had always been in place, so they had just started enforcing it. Again, I explained that I need my bag with me for my inhaler, and "Victoria" told me that I can keep my inhaler in the well of the treadmill. I'm not going to do that because it will get left behind and lost, as has happened several times before, not to mention the treadmill is not the only machine I planned to use. "Victoria" then told me that either she would TAKE my bag or I could leave. I was not about to let her lay a hand on my bag, so I told her if she was going to make me leave, then I wanted a refund of my money they took out for this month for my membership. Suddenly she didn't have any authority to do such a thing. Already infuriated, I then spoke to the manager, "Eric" over the phone, and he was even more rude than "Victoria" was. He also refused to refund my money, yelled at me at the top of his lungs over the phone, and hung up on me when I refused to give the phone back to "Victoria" until I had my refund. I was handed a copy of the list of rules, which I later read and clearly states, "Fanny packs or other on-person storage devices are permitted," but yet, wearing my cinch bag as a back-pack was not a solution that anyone bothered to offer me. They apparently thought it was better to just cancel my membership without me even signing the cancellation form and kick me out of the facility all together. They even threatened to have authorities escort me off the premises if I did not leave, like some common criminal. When I asked for a contact number for their corporate office, I was given the number to the Amarillo location instead, who by the way, stated that they have had several phone calls from people with complaints about the management here in Lubbock. What a shame, they would rather boot someone out the door that has been a loyal member since they opened for business than to offer a solution that would benefit everyone involved, or heaven forbid just be polite to someone and request what they wanted in a friendly and courteous manner to begin with. I actually had other women come up to me before I left saying that they had the same experience with the heavy-set elderly woman rudely demanding they remove their bag from the floor area. I hope this review will be useful for anyone considering a membership here. Good luck.

The gym itself is fine, however, be aware of some unnecessarily restrictive and inconvenient policies. I wanted to freeze my membership for a few months, as I would be out of town for the summer. They were unable to do so except that I first show up in person to sign a document. Since I was already out of town, this was not possible. The only other option they could give me was to cancel my account. Here again, I encountered an unnecessary and inconvenient restriction. In order to cancel my account, it was necessary to send in a written request by certified mail. That's $4 and half an hour out of my day that I really shouldn't have to spend for something that should take about 30 seconds over the phone. It seems to me like they need to update their policies to be more compatible with people who, you know, aren't living in the late 19th century or something. If they did things reasonably, I'd have just put things on hold and picked back up later. Instead, they've likely lost a customer. The way I see it, there really is no good reason to request a certified letter except to make the process of canceling more of a hassle. That's inconveniencing me to boost their bottom line--I regard this as a somewhat shady business practice.

I love this gym. The staff are always friendly. I've only seen the staff intervene when someone was slamming the weights around and even then, the staff member quietly discussed the issue with the person - not what I would call rude. I've had no trouble with any of the machines (I've seen one down every once in awhile but nothing like some of the other gyms where half of the machines were out at once). I have noticed that there does seem to be frequent staff turnover but, frankly, I don't care. I'm there to work out, not chat with the staff. I'm just happy that the staff isn't so busy flirting with each other and the "hot" patrons that I can't get signed in like at other gyms.
