I absolutely LOVE this place they have accommodated all my needs with already having had 2 back surgeries and trying to still work out! They are always available if I have a question and they absolutely care about how you are doing! Very motivating and helpful! They are amazing! Love it for sure! So glad my friend recommended them to me!-Amber B.

OK so I have tried out several gyms now like Orangetheory, 9round and F45. These are all great gyms but none of them compare to Rock Box fitness. If you combined all three of these you might come close to what you find here at Rock box. But you still wouldn’t get the awesome music or a chance to literally hit some bags to relieve your stress. So I’ve done Rock Box for the last four months and I knew I was going to have to take a break for the month of May so I thought I’d try out some other gyms while I was on a brake with them (work related) just to make sure I wasn’t just falling in love with something because it was the only thing I knew. Orange theory was great if you like being a robot ( not a lot or side talk encouragement and pretty straight forward Run/walk on your treadmill then go to the rowing machine and then do a short functional. Nine round was OK if you don’t like talking to anybody. You walk in ,you start around one and you go your “nine rounds “ and then you leave , you really won’t get to know anybody that way and it’s hard for me to stay on track without multiple encouragements . And F45 is great for functional stuff but not really cardio. Don’t give me wrong there cardio day will have your painting it’s just not quite the same. And it’s only cardio there’s not a whole lot of strength building on those days. If I could’ve gone every day of the week it might’ve been OK but I only go every other day and every other day was always cardio. I say all that to say you can find all of those things that I’m looking for a RockBox Fitness. You will find your cardio while punching the bags (20mins is longer than you think) and you will find your strength during the functional’s (25mins of strength training with arms or legs or core) they never let you slack on technique which is great for somebody who is new to this like me. I really don’t know that I could say enough good about this place to do it justice but let me tell you their family. And if that wasn’t enough they also have people there that can help you with your nutritional needs all day long. Which some of the other places offered but I’m not sure how in depth they go. But I do know how far Rock Box goes , because I am down 46 pounds after four months and I’m still losing weight and gaining strength and flexibility thanks to Rock Box fitness.

This is my personal experience with Rockbox and my rating is based on several factors my experience with their so called free six week challenge, membership pricing, workouts, gym availability, and gym amenities. My review is not based on whether I like the owners or coaches, or whether I made friends or not. Everyone is nice and of course when you attend a class regularly you are going to make connections. I don't feel any of that is relevant to my review.Six-week challenge reviewI first came across this gym via a Facebook ad stating they were looking for 30 women to join for free for a six week challenge, no calorie counting. I setup an orientation and find out it's not free. I either had to either pay 499 upfront or join the gym at a 159.00 per month rate. The challenge was only free if I lost 25lbs or 6 percent body fat, came to workout 3 times per week, and wrote an online review that was to be reviewed by the gym first. I chose the upfront fee because I knew I could stick to the guidelines. What I did not take into consideration was. What if the diet they give me doesn't work, then what. Well, the diet did not work for me or several other people. I only lost an average of 1 pound per week. I started complaining as soon as week one weigh-ins and kept being told don't worry about it. The coaches would start talking about calories and macros, but when I would ask what should they be to get specific guidelines they would just say just follow the plan. The nutrition education consisted of a handout which listed legumes and potatoes under both veggies and carbs which was very confusing and about a 15min quick talk to a room full of people who were not all on the same diet plan. Needless to say I did not meet the challenge goal and was faced with the decision to either A. Walk away from my 499 or B. Choose a membership plan I can live with so I don't completely walk away empty handed. If faced with this again I would have walked away as soon as free was not free.Membership pricingSuper expensive. Unlimited visits 240.00 per month, there are other options but all very expensiveWorkoutsIf this review was based solely on the workouts it would be a 4 star review. They are really good, challenging, and fun, but there are some moves that are done with the gloves on like: planks, mountain climbers etc that are really uncomfortable with the gloves on. The gloves are not as impact resistant as I was told when I bought them, my knuckles have hurt since the second week.Gym availability and amenitiesThis is not a gym you can use whenever you want. The only way to workout here is by signing up for a class. They offer lots of different class times, but not as many options as I would like.AmenitiesProsChildcare for lots of class timesNice colorful lighting during workoutsWater fountainPhone app available to schedule classes and check-inCubbies to put personal belongingsConsOnly 2 bathroomsNo lockersNo showersMusic playing during workouts are based on trainers selection mostly older music rap/hip-hop/pop not much current musicWorkouts only available during select class hoursNo set parking lot mall parking only

I would give RockBox 10 stars. By far the best gym in Murfreesboro. If you want a challenge and a fun experience please go check them out. They definitely think outside the box and the motivation you receive is great.I signed up for the 6 week challenge in January. Yes the promotion running on Facebook said free, but like the promotion states it is a challenge. The day I did my orientation the owners were very transparent. Also the contract you sign is a straight forward contract. The "free part" is if you reach the goal of the challenge. The challenge I did it was lose 25lbs or 6% body fat in 6 weeks. If you lose the 25lbs or the 6% body fat you would get your money back or if you signed up for the monthly membership you would get a discount off of that. If you did not lose 25lbs or the 6% body fat it was very clear in the beginning you would not get your money back. There is no magic pill you can take or snap your fingers and you lose 40lbs. I started the challenge at 240lbs. I knew from the start, I had more weight to lose than the 25lbs for the challenge. This is why I chose the monthly membership, because I want to lose 50lbs.I was successful and loss the 25lbs. The meal plan you receive and if you attend the 3 or 4 workouts a week you can beat the challenge. The plan takes determination and discipline. The first 3 weeks I loss 16lbs and probably followed the plan about 95% of the time. The last 3 weeks I only loss 9lbs but I probably only followed the plan about 80% of the time. You have to cut out the bad habits you develop over many many years. I ate fast food a lot, snack on chips and little debbie cakes, but I knew if I was going to be successful I had to cut out the fast food, the snacking and oh yes I had to say no to sweet tea/sodas. Yes going cold turkey was difficult, but very rewarding. You might be saying to yourself you can't afford it. Trust me look at your bank statements for the last 90 days and if you add up all the fast food, snacks, sodas/sugar drinks and cut those out of your budget you will be able to afford a membership with no issue."Success is never final, failure is never fatal, it is courage that counts" -John Wooden

If you are a busy mom, like myself, or anyone who doesn’t have 2 hours to kill in the gym just hoping to burn enough calories to make it worth it...then this place is for you! Seriously, I’ve been to many gyms, both on my own and group work outs... nothing has come close to these classes. I went in with NO kickboxing experience, so don’t let that stop you! The coaches are AMAZING and will help make sure you have it right, they will teach you all you need to know. I just finished my 6th week there and lost over 7% body fat and 20lbs...and y’all, ive been to other gyms regularly and never saw those results in MONTHS of working out. But not only that i am soo much stronger than i was on day one! I bring my 4 kids to their childcare- which by the way, is VERY clean and wonderful with a sweet staff- my kids ask me if they can go to rockbox and play all the time! RockBox will not disappoint, I promise! The music alone makes the 45/60 min work outs FLY by all while you burn 700+ calories!! It’s a blast and you won’t want to stop—don’t be afraid to punch those bags and push yourself...you’ll get results fast! Your first class is free...so Go check it out!!

When I found RockBox I was at my lowest both physically and mentally, finding them was an answered prayer. I did not have one personal coach, I had several whom I was able to have any question answered at any time. RockBox helped me find my smile, rediscovered my passion for healthy eating, balance and my new passion for boxing. Rockbox has helped me be a better employee to my company but most importantly a better mom to my beautiful daughter because she deserves the best I can give her. And if I am healthy, strong and confident then I will raise her to be the same. And let me NOT forget the friends I have made. I have lived all over the country but never had I had such a group of supportive perfect strangers who are now my family. Long story short. I LOVE ROCKBOX!

If I could give 100 stars, I would! The coaches were always open to answer questions that I had, or talk me off the ledge. The workouts are great! The coaches are really invested in you. They want you to succeed! It can be confusing at first, but literally all you have to do is ask and you'll be answered pretty quick! It's a community here. Everyone is supportive and helps keep you accountable as well! If you do a challenge and don't lose all the weight you're supposed keep in mind that a lot of it is on you. Unless you have a medical issue. Best people I've met and the only place that's helped me lose weight. I couldn't even do a push up because it felt like my wrists were breaking. But with help, I'm able to put more and more pressure on my wrists. It really has been a life changing gym. There's many other things I was unable to do, and I could go on, but just come see for yourself. 😊
