Out of 10+ treadmill machines, 6 are broken (sic!). Dirty showers and floors. Most of the upper level lockers are permanently occupied (even if there are only few customers at the gym). Not sure, I was subscribing to THAT...

When will the Elliptical machines be fixed? Some of them have had out of order notices on them for about a year now. The ones that do work do not have options. You can do only one program. I’ve been at other gyms with the same Ellipticals with all options working, so the problem is with the club, not the machines. If you don’t do the treadmill, you will have to go elsewhere for your cardio because all the rest are broken, non-functioning, never fixed, never even looked at by staff (other than someone checking you in and one housekeeper now and then, there are no staff members ever to be found, so there is no one to talk to about these issues). This gym has never cared about its members or even the gym itself, which is very sad, as it used to be the best NYSC in downtown Manhattan, but not caring has been taken to a whole new level now because there is no staff—I would gladly return to surly employees than none at all). I’ve been going to this gym for 20 years and it has become so rundown, a shell of what it once was. Most of the machines have been there since I started going, I kid you not. Very few machines have been replaced in all those years! I go to other gyms and marvel and the machines there: tip-top working order, none broken, the latest and freshest machines and I’m always so jealous. Here, even the benched are old, torn up, missing knobs. Weight machines are in terrible condition, rusting, broken, weights are left on the floor and very often you can go back the next day and find them exactly where you saw them the day before. I have had to get additional memberships elsewhere in order to use top quality weight and cardio machines, for classes that are lively and exciting, even just for simple free weight days. I only go to this location these days when the weather is bad because I live a block away. It used to be the most inspiring place, so busy you couldn’t get to machines, but now it’s a ghost town and it seems those running it are just waiting until the place collapses rather than putting any effort into making it even half-decent.

When machines break staff put a sign up and dont bother to get them fixed for several weeks. Showers are often not adequately stocked with soap, etc. Locker rooms are dirty. Monthly price gets increased each year with little warning yet they don't actually offer more... If anything staff here have given up and have no pride in keeping this location functional or clean.

I really like this location. It’s always clean and has everything I need. My favorite part of this gym is coming to the Burn and Core Conditioning classes on Saturday with Maria. Her classes are tough but great!

The deals are great, the decor is awesome and inspiring when being motivated to lose weight however, sorry there are no restrooms to the public and why would there be it is a gym after all. Since this is New York you may find parking on the side street of the club but it is first come first serve. Pop in and see it is pretty nice

Beware that when you need to cancel your membership you need to let them know 45 days beforehand otherwise they charge you 1.5X your monthly fee. This is a scam to charge a termination fee because they don’t advertise it when you sign up so how should one know about this.Anyway, I had to cancel my membership due to relocation. Based on the contract which I saw later, I didn’t need to give them 45 days notice. I went there in person once and called several times to cancel. But each time I could not reach the general manager, Mr. Kenny Rivera. I left messages each time and even emailed him directly but received no response back. My impression is that this guy doesn’t care or even worse, he deliberately ignored my messages so that they charge me the “termination fee”. Either way, terrible general manager, terrible club.UPDATE: don’t fall for the response the owner gave to my review. They never replied to my email. The whole thing is deceitful PR scheme. If you want your money stolen, go ahead and sign up!

This gym has always been on of my favorite spots to hit up for a great work out. They have old machines but they are good. Some things are just not made the same anymore so I can appreciate this older machines. There are some new machines as well. The steam room and sauna room are excellent and they are always kept clean. Nice location as well with many options where you can grab some food before or after your workout.

My secondary option coz its not too far from my job, thou prefer to walk few extra block to get to 23rd st club instead. This club is super small. Rush hr is almost impossible to workout without altering ur flow. So I only go when I got no option to visit 23rd st club

They claimed they didn't do auto subscription. But they still charged me after I canceled my membership. When I complained about it, they said "I will tell my manager" and keep charging me another 49.99 today!!!! Horrible! Worst gym ever!!!!Don't believe they will reply to your email. They intentionally make this, otherwise how could they make money?

I’ve been trying to cancel my membership for almost 2 months now. I’ve spoken to multiple reps at this location promising to send me an email confirmation and to get my account canceled. Instead they’ve charged my card multiple times. As I no longer live in NY, I can’t even go in person to get this handled. It’s absolutely ridiculous the hoops I’m having to jump through just because their staff is incompetent.
