Cant believe they give you such a hard time about cancelation, I mean they dont even consider people dont want to work out in pandemic, they can tell me all they want about people still coming in, but if I dont feel safe im not going to, so cancel my membership. When you talk to these guys on phone, they make it sound like we owe them monthly payments, very frustrating. Ones my contract is done I would never go back to these klowns even though its literally mile from my house, and won't recommend anyone I know either. #backtoPlanetfitness

If only could give them 0 stars I would . Terrible custumer service. When you join them so easy to do that , all in person and good. As soon as you want to cancel membership here starting a nightmare. Hard to contact them, because only by phone. And staff are not helpfull at all, explaining all in a very bad way, like special, for get after extra fee money. When u send them email for cancelation no even email back that we are accept ur request or cancelation. My husband and I canceled 3 months before finish year, but was surprised to see that they keep taking money in a new year too. When we canceled payment they keep charging even more. Strongly DO NOT RECOMMEND this place, hard to get out of there and they are keep taking ur money!

Great chain of gyms overall. I wish that they would expand to Central Long Island. The Norwalk location loses a star for not having tanning, meaning that you have to fight I-95 traffic to go to the one in Fairfield. It loses another star for enforcing a sneaker policy when you are doing arm and chest exercises. That's what prompted this review. The only machines you really need sneakers for are the cardio machines that require you to lift your feet completely up off of the tread surfaces, like treadmills and stairmills. I appreciate that you are doing part of your job, but think, too. There is zero toe protection against crushing in sneakers. I deliver and unload freight for a living, and understand protective footwear. It's just as easy to break a toe in sneakers as it is to break a toe in sandals. This level of enforcement seems more like corporate bureaucracy, or possibly a concern with a marketing image. People who are working out have to dress to fit a formulated image that says they're at the gym, and it's total baloney.I'm going to soil a spotless pair of sneakers that I keep just for using my erg machine at home. Unless you are buying me a new pair, don't reply to this review. If you reply anyway, blindly trying to save face by defending irrational customer interactions, then that's just terrible customer service, deserving of an even lower score.P.S., This review was written in a state of irritation, and I would like to add that some of the staff here are very friendly if you talk to them.As for the cancelation policies, unfortunately, that's part of the business model of gyms. The average subscriber goes maybe 6 times, and is locked in for 2 years. That's how the gyms can pay for enough 5 thousand dollar machines for everyone and keep a lot of staff on the payroll. It's hard to gauge how much gravy there is, and it is sort of crooked, but it's industry-wide. I was at worse gyms on LI, one of which cost twice as much, and they were both pretty tenacious, insisting that you had to cancel in person if you moved. If you've moved from LI, it is a huge pain in the backside to go back just to cancel a membership.Penn & Teller did and interesting episode of BS on gym memberships. The only way to keep it from being a scam is to work out there regularly, and get your money's worth. If they didn't have guaranteed revenue, they wouldn't be able to cover their huge overhead, so, no gym is likely to change this model. The music is very depressing. The first two songs in a row since I got here today were musically uninspired EDM tracks, about people whining about God because of their love lives and talking about dying. Not great music for getting pumped to.

Great gym with sensible Covid protocols. Some machines are restricted to allow for distancing and masks are required. Like everywhere else, a few people are sloppy with their masks, but they respond when told to pull up. Otherwise the workout space is great and the locker room and showers are always nice and clean.

Hello,I’ll start by saying I would have given this gym a 5 star rating prior to the pandemic, for the simple fact that EDGE Kids is amazing!! Add to it the low cost and it is a home run.We searched high and low for a gym that provided quality time for our 3 year old while my wife and I workout. EDGE Kids was it!We signed up because of the kids program, and due to the pandemic the kids club is closed. Therefore, there is no one to watch/teach our daughter when we are working out.We froze our membership for the first few months that we were allowed to, hoping things would open up. I completely understand why EDGE kids is currently closed, and I am not arguing that. However, by closing EDGE Kids, EDGE Club is removing the exact reason we signed up for the club. If there was no kids option, we would have never signed up. EDGE changed the deal, but they are still requiring payment. I receive numbers to call, and email addresses to send my story to, but nothing has been done. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I do not need a generic sympathy response with an email to send this to. I need action. Either freeze my membership until the kids club opens, or allow me to cancel because YOU changed the deal that got me to join.

I just wanna warn people to stay away from this club, because it is very very easy to join them, but very hard to cancel, they keep charging your credit card.J order cancel 3 months before, but they keep charging you until finish year period take annual fee. Then i thought that is it, i surprised with new charges for this month too, when asked , they said need 1 month notice of cancelation, i asked him check my email from 3 months ago, and he just ignore with no answer at all.I will not surprise if they keep charging me for next few months too.Feel like they robbing me.

Updated review. The Edge is a large gym with lots of modern equipment and classes to choose from. It's clean and very affordable and most of the staff is friendly and highly experienced. I had a cancellation issue that management resolved for me. Just follow protocol to avoid issues. Other than that, it's a great gym.

So I've updated my review because not only have they entirely renovated the place, the staff has always been friendly and helpful. I feel like they have a lot to offer. The things that bother me are things that would only be solved by moving to a bigger space. The stretching area can be really small when it's crowded. I think this gym is a good middle ground for the crossroads of affordability and quality. Minor things I think the gym could improve on would be something like getting almond milk for smoothie options, it kinda blows my mind they don't have dairy free milk options in today's fitness and health crazed world. One thing I would also like to see would be more of a presence of employees available for help around the gym. I think someone should be monitoring so they can be of assistance if someone is struggling or has a question. All in all, I really like this gym and will continue to use it as long as I'm living in Norwalk.

Terrible management that pushes its trainers for $$$ over any other type of customer service. If you are using equipment, the trainers have the right given by the manager to take it from you without hesitation which means that MANY times the equipment I was using was literally just taken from me half way through a set. When I complained to the management about it, I was then told that those are the rules of the club and that I had no right to be put off. ?????!!!!!???? Also, the manager David Wegerzyn cancelled my membership and my husband's claiming that he was acting as my trainer... he didn't bother to check that we were married and on the same membership. If I can't workout with my husband giving tips, who is more knowledgeable with more expertise than their own staff, then what is the point of working out together? Homophobic ignorance in 2018? I have no time or patience for that. Oh, did I mention that they kept charging us for months after they cancelled the memberships? This is a total shame of a business run by about 12 brain cells.

I've been going to this gym for a little over a year now. I go 5 times a week in the mornings before work, and I've had a great experience each time. The Edge fitness has a great set of equipment, friendly staff, and great atmosphere. It doesn't feel too crowded or too deserted. The locker rooms are clean, and there are also fitness classes that included in most packages. In terms of price, this gym is towards the affordable end (and there are often special offers, depending on how they find you).
