Genesis Health Clubs - Aksarben

I really like the location of this Gym and I like the people who work here, but the upkeep has been sadly lacking. 3 of the 4 stair machines have been broken for more than a year and there are many other machines out of service. It seems as if nothing gets fixed here. When will you decide that the location is worth the effort to keep up the equipment. I have visited other locations and find the facilities not as accommodating, but the equipment is in much better shape.

This location provides plenty of of cardio and weights needed for my fitness goals! The locker rooms provide showers and a dry sauna too. I get plenty of locations and amenities and my rep Tyler was very knowledgeable on helping me get my fitness goals and made my membership very easy to understand. Aksarben is also a very nice area and club is clean! 10/10 recommend to my friends.

Fantastic location, right in the heart of Aksarben, with super easy access to free parking, and a nice clean facility. It wasn't super crowded when I went (around 6am), and I didn't need to wait for any equipment. It did still feel a little tight, though, as it's not a huge place. I would imagine that it could get a bit crowded pretty easily.One thing making it a little less efficient is that it seems like a lot of equipment (including half the showers) are out of order. I know they are improving clubs, maybe one at a time, and I hope this one gets some attention soon!

Not afraid of the exposure here. Probably one of the worst maintained gyms I’ve ever been in. I go here only because it’s close to my house, that’s it. Literally 5 of the 28 treadmills actually function without feeling like they’re going to break or tear your ACL. Dust caked onto everything, everywhere. Best staff member is either Michael(?) (front desk at 6am) or the young women at the front desk during the day. No one else seems to do anything. Shame they lock you into a contract knowing full well the maintenance is miserable. For as much money as this place makes, they could afford to upgrade some cable attachments - some look like they’ve been used since Nam.

The Aksarben Genesis gym is a very good gym overall, with fairly upscale facilities and equipment, and a very good staff. My trainer, Tia, is well educated in physiology and physical training. She works with me diligently to accommodate my multiple health challenges and guide me to overcome them.The only thing keeping me from giving the Aksarben location, or ANY Omaha Genesis facility Five stars is the lack of maintenance due to insufficient Genesis maintenance personnel in Omaha -- currently only one (1) person to maintain ALL locations! I also feel that the Genesis Cass St. location's (different from Aksarben) Men's locker room and showers seriously need updates. Hopefully, Genesis corporate will get its act together and rectify these matters.Even with those issues, I still rate the Genesis Aksarben gym as worthy of serious consideration. That's why I'm still a member!

This location is pretty good given it’s the smallest Genesis in town. The downfall is a different piece of equipment seems to break every week. I’ve been going here for nearly 5 weeks and haven’t seen one single machine fixed in 5 weeks. If I’m paying $40+/mo for a gym membership, it’d be nice for someone to at least attempt to get some of this equipment fixed.

I am loving the fitness classes at Genesis. Lauren, Yvette, and Markita are excellent instructors! The Aksarben location is great with knowledgeable, friendly staff. I’m often greeted by name and they are genuinely glad to help out with any questions I have. Highly recommend joining Genesis as you have access to multiple locations with a variety of weight rooms and classes within the metro area. This has been an excellent addition to enhance my healthy lifestyle!

The staff and trainers have been all awesome to work with! The locker rooms are always so clean and well kept up. It’s a great place to spend your workouts.

I was with this gym for a couple of months & in that time frame the club was always spotless & clean. Never too busy. And the staff here was always friendly and helped me with whatever i needed. Specifically, the club manager Tyler made a lasting impression. He was always super helpful fulfilling any needs i had & even though i am not a member anymore, he is still willing to assist in the future if i have any more questions or decide joining again. It was nice being treated more like a friend than a customer here!

I requested my membership be cancelled in June through the AKSARBEN gym. They said they would cancel it. Instead they put my account on a freeze. When I was charged again I called and spoke with the manager (Shane) who said he had to get my request approved through corporate and would call me back. Two weeks later when I called to check the status he lied and said he had not heard back.When I spoke to the corporate office myself I was able to resolved all issues in about 5 minutes, got my membership cancelled and found out that he had not, in fact, processed my cancellation request.If you want to cancel be prepared to be jerked around.
