Scam warning!! Free 5 sessions with a trainer was a scam. The trainer tried so hard to cancel every time After the first session and lied he would reschedule but never did until I see him at the gym. Then he would be like “oh! I thought I already rescheduled” when he actually didn’t reach me again. When I told about this to the manager, he said the trainer wasn’t in a good position of his life. Well, that’s not my problem and the manager should have been managing what their trainers do. Maybe the manager was the part of it. Who knows.The whole thing made me feel so uncomfortable to go to the location knowing that someone is trying hard to avoid me. Anyone wants to join this location, rethink.

This was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had with staff at such a “highly rated” business. Manager finally called me back after several attempts to get my account straightened out to the month to month plan after his assistant messed up my paperwork and then ignored me after several attempts of trying to contact him to fix it. Then I tell the manager I just want to cancel everything and didn’t get funds pulled from my account for two months straight, now all the sudden you’re pulling funds again out of the blue? That makes no sense at all. This has been the biggest headache I’ve ever had to deal with and nobody can seem to just fix the simple issue of CANCELING. I have so many texts from the employees who helped me to “fix” this stating it was done and yet nothing has been done. CAN SOMEONE JUST FIX THIS ALREADY

Clean gym with nice equipment. I’ve been going here for almost a year regularly and have never had an issue. Friendly staff and management. Have recommend this location to many friends and coworkers.

Genesis at Aksarben has been a safe space to stay healthy over a difficult 2020. The team has gone above and beyond to maintain a workout space that is comfortable, healthy, and respectful of safety precautions.The staff here is great! They are always friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I’ve never had a bad day at the Aksarben Village Genesis Gym.The facility is very accommodating to all levels of fitness and individual focus. I’ve never felt out of place. There’s a space and style of workout here for everyone.

Genesis in general has some of the worst customer service we have experienced. We started back in March trying to get pricing and information at the Tara Plaza location, we couldn’t get anyone to call us back for a week. Finally were able to set up an appointment and the guy didn’t show up. We then went to the Shadow Lake location and had the same experience, called the guy there and never got a call back. Finally went to the Aksarben location and Tyler got us an appointment right away, my husband got signed up and Tyler gave us 3 months of free membership for me. We also got set up with one of the personal trainers, we were told this person was the district trainer, well he cancelled on us twice an hour before our 6 am meeting. After my free pass expired we have been trying to get me added to my husbands account for over a week, called back and they said it would be another week before I can be added. This is the worst experience we have ever had with any gym, however I will acknowledge the front desk people are always super nice and polite, but something needs to change with management and their fitness advisers.

We switched from Planet Fitness to Genesis purely due to the convenient location in Aksarben. I have been a little disappointed since switching. A lot of the machines (cardio and weight) are broken on a regular basis. It also doesn't seem as clean as other gyms I have been to. These seem like issues that could easily be addressed. We will keep going due to the location, but I have not been overly impressed so far.

The gym is good enough, but not for the money. And who knows what they use our dues for. They have 4 stair masters for over a year now 3 of them have been broken. And the last working one is out of service now. Almost all of their cable accessories are ripping and frayed. Bent caribeeners on machines waiting to snap. Locker doors fall off if you open them. Think twice before you sign the contract, you will have to pay $300 to leave a gym with broken equipment.

If it was possible to give 0 stars, I would. The communication between staff, and professionalism at this location is abysmal. I called last month before my bill date to give my 30 day notice to put my account of freeze. Twice I called, and both times no notes were recorded on my account the conversation had happened. I purposely made sure to call before my bill date, so this month I would only be charged for the freeze, not the full amount. Two days after going through the freeze process with a sales associate, the sales manager had called to re go through the freeze process because of course, no notes were on my account. Fast forward to today, and I was charged the full amount instead of the freeze amount. I called and spoke to the sales manager, and she says she has no record of my phone calls with the sales associate last month, and refunding my full charge today “is out of her hands”. Having worked as a sales associate at a gym myself, that statement is completely false. Instead of admitting there was lack of communication and documentation on the side of the staff, she continuously was not helpful and unwilling to work with me. Do not join this location, they only care about your money and NOT their members!

So far this has been the best location for Genesis! It is clean and orderly. There are tons of different cardio machines and feel like I get a lot of privacy from others when I work out! Also, there are tons of windows, so it is bright with natural light as you workout!

Horrible customer service.I signed a contract, 6 days later I requested to cancel as I was not impressed by the gym and had a employment change. I started this request on September 30 and still have no resolution. No answers, just so-so will call you back. Then I call that person because they do not call me. Then I get told to another person will call me back. Still no call so I call them. Get told the same thing again. Still no call.And now I have been charged for the membership that I am not using and do not plan to use without receiving resolution. In my experience, be very careful because they are happy to call daily when they want you to sign up but if there’s an issue they don’t want to resolve it.
