Great gym!…Staff is helpful!…It’s pricey but for the services they offer it is worth it.

I went there as a guest with a buddy of mine. The staff is alright. Some of the members are weird. This is not a gym for someone who's used to heavy lifting/ body building. It gets crowded quickly. There are better options in Philly.

Be very very careful when you cancel your membership.Make sure you do so in writing and keep the receipt. And....check to make city fitness stops charging you. I canceled mine years ago but, shame on me I hadn't checked to see if they continued to bill me.....spoiler alert. They did....for years. Finally, when my bank issued a new card they couldn't continue to steal from me. They then sent me to collections. This is when I learned they had been billing me for years...again shame on me for not realizing it.Once I did realize it, when I attempted to reach out to city fitness they could not help me at the gym where I signed up. They told me billing could help me but, only provided an email address. I wrote to billing twice in an attempt to resolve things. I could never get a response. So, I was left with no choice but, to let city fitness steal more money from me through the debt collector....a final $276.94 cash grab.....

The gym moves, reduces the amenities and eliminates classes but yet expects you to pay the same rate. They are in breach of contract but no one does anything. They install a card reader to enter the facility that doesn't work with the bar code on your phone as you were told it would. The only gym in the neighborhood is why people are here. So sad

This gyms billing policies are INSANE. My card expired, and I provided them both the new card AND my bank account information, and they’re still unable to update my billing / stop the collection calls. Your management team is a clown show.

Needs new equipment (e.g only one leg extension machine, which is frequently broken); Thrive isn't worth it (becomes repetitive and is overpriced by 50% compared to local comparable Crossfit rates); friendly staff, clean towels, clean locker rooms, sauna; fellow patrons are generally good, except for a few fitness bros who think they own the place and will occupy 2-3 pieces of equipment at once. Overall, a gym that will serve your needs, but it could use upgrades and more attention, not least as the "original" flagship gym.Update: disappointed to hear that the temporary replacement gym (as they construct a new building on original site) will be much smaller...

This gym should be renamed from City Fitness to Wallet Fitness because the only thing slimming down will be your wallet.
