Disappointed to find out after doing the very thing for two weeks that our 15 year who will be 16 in a month cannot be on the 3 1/2 foot side doing walking laps with me. And cannot do so until she is 18? But she is able to so in the lane pool when the swim teams aren't practicing. This will be our first and last month at Lifetime. Not what we were told during the membership walk through.

My favorite thing about Plymouth LT are the group fitness classes and instructors - the vibe here is very energetic and enthusiastic, my favorite location to take classes! The facilities are fine, but not as updated as some of the other gold level clubs (Fridley especially). Also it gets very busy and the locker rooms very crowded at peak times! Between sharing with Wayzata HS swim teams and regular classes, the lap pool is rarely available for use. As busy as this place is, it could really use separate yoga/pilates studios.

Before covid 5 starsAfter covid 5 starsEverything is kept clean regularly. Employees are always picking up or working out with someone. The members who go here are nice, try to stay out of the way and don't try to bother you to give up equipment. If you ask anyone is willing to spot you.

Dirty gym, the showers are always very dirty, I cant imagine what I'm walking on. They need to be cleaning the locker rooms and showers way more frequently especially for the traffic this gym gets during the day. I've complained to …

This is a great gym when it isn't busy. It has top end weight equipment, a pool, sauna, and a lot of cardio equipment. Unfortunately at peak hours it is so busy that it can be difficult to find a treadmill to run on which is why it lost some stars in this review. Overall it's a fine gym though as most Lifetimes are.

Kind of odd, with hardly anyone swimming! It slows down just before Holidays. They check temperature as you enter, and my temp did not appear on one station; luckily the other one worked. I have no temperature increase at all and feel great. Four people change at a time inside locker room area, which seems safe. Most not wearing masks in locker room. I will keep going since I need regular exercise,

They asked for literally everything when I was just trying to get in with a guest pass. I drove 20 minutes just to get denied in a very unprofessional manner at the door. I understand that this is mostly because of the fact that I am a teenager, as this place has a record of treating teens poorly. I was willing to pay to get in, however it’s almost as if they wanted to deny me. The lady working at around 6:45 on Monday, August 3rd was not only unhelpful, but also quite rude. A complete and total waste of a beautiful space in Plymouth.

Although this place is fantastic, the people who attend here do not have basic gym etiquette. Piles of wet towels in the showers, weights not re-racked, sweaty towels laying everywhere in the gym/weight area. It is a nuisance to bug others just to find out nobody has been working out on the equipment for awhile. Other locations are nowhere near this level of lazy.

I don't understand the negative reviews of staff and think these must be situational frustrations. I've been at the club 2 months now and the staff is the biggest selling point to me. Everyone at the front desk has greeted me with a smile every time I come. In a week every member of the staff at the kids academy greeted my daughter by name when the saw her. One week. My daughter still says "hi" to John who signed us up every time she walks by his office.Kirsten in the swim program has been extremely helpful in getting us signed up for lessons and my daughter has enjoyed them a lot. We do lessons during the day because I am an at home dad and we basically get 1 on 1 or 2 on 1 lessons.Regarding the "over crowding", it's a great club. That's why it's busy. If you're willing to be friendly you can work with others around you. I've seen a few times that the treadmills get filled up, but that's part of coming to a popular gym at a popular time. I also see folks saying they would go to another gym if one was available. There aren't any because Lifetime offers things no other gym I've been to has. Included childcare of the quality they provide sets them apart on its own.Regarding reservations, the lap pool being out of commission during high school swim practice is annoying, but there is a leisure pool that is usually available. I've never seen the whirl pools unavailable but this might be the case during special instances. And, yes, classes often reserve equipment on the fitness floor, but there are always signs posted with times of class so you can plan your workout accordingly. I've also never been pressured by a trainer and several times I've asked if I'm in their way and I've been welcomed and worked around. In short, I have been here two months, I've visited 3 other Lifetime clubs and none of them compare to the Plymouth location (even platinum clubs), and I am convinced Lifetime is what's been missing in my life. I'm a convert and I think every single at home parent needs a membership for the childcare if nothing else. The availability of an hour or two of break from kids is worth the cost alone.

One month update! All is good in the neighborhood.Feeling safe again. A big thank you to the LT staff for keeping us safe. Love see members wearing their masks when moving from one station to another. Plenty of hand sanitizers, cleaning wipes and checking temps at the door. 😷😉♥️😍🏃‍♀️🏋️‍♀️Disappointed but not surprised. We went back for the first time after the lockdown around 10:00 am. My daughters and I were the only ones wearing a mask. Yes, the staff members were wearing one but that didn't make me feel safe at all. The weight area was quite full of people and social distance was not an option. Plus, I hoped they would check temperatures at the check in desk. The treadmills were at a safe distance and we found improved sanitation stations. I just wish people could be more respectful and understanding.
