Started coming here to get top rope and lead climbing experience. Been loving the gym. Great routes, challenging boulder problems, and nice staff. Just finished the lead class with Brandon, can't recommend it enough he was an awesome teacher. Feeling well educated on how to stay safe while climbing lead.

One of the Top 2 climbing gyms in Portland. They have rope climbing (including autobelays) and bouldering. The have a diverse set of climbing walls: standard walls, bolted sections, slabs and a unique tiled wall with really tricky textured holds. Great for people who want to practice for outdoor climbing.Crash pads in the bouldering section are one of the softest I have seen in the climbing gyms, it feels like a spring mattress sometimes making the fall less scary for beginnersThe only downside is the place can’t handle too much crowd. It gets busy very quickly.

I've been bouldering for a little while now, decided to take the next step and attend a belay class. First time at PRG I was blown away by the facilities, the overall vibe, and especially Brandon and Molly who taught the session - incredibly informative and they created a fun environment for us to learn new skills and take our climbing to new heights!

The atmosphere and people at Portland rock gym are my favorite. Took the lead clinic class with Dan and he was extremely knowledgeable, personable, and made the class a great experience! 10/10 do recommend

I took an intro course here and Brandon (the instructor) was extremely helpful and straight to the point. Since then I have gone bouldering a few times and the facility is just amazing and the people are so nice. I would highly recommend coming here if you are new to rock climbing or bouldering

I took an intro class and a private lesson with Dan and he is such a great instructor! He's a wealth of safety and technique information, easy to talk to (even when asking really novice questions), and just overall fun. PRG is a great climbing gym with excellent staff - I'm looking forward to trying out some of the classes, particularly yoga.

PRG is the best! The staff and other climbers are always so kind, communicative, and willing to help. I’m a pretty new climber, and it’s been so nice having one of my first experiences be at such a welcoming, safe place where everyone is very open and approachable! :)(Also whoever is in charge of the music is doing an amazing job. Five stars just for the jams.)

Great gym for climbers of all skill levels. It was the first place I tried rope climbing and I had a blast. Almost year later, there's still always a new challenge when I go.I've taken many of the classes they offer, and can recommend them all. The lead climbing class is a great value for anyone who wants to get into outdoor climbing. Staff and members are always friendly. Dan is the best - I've taken a few lessons with him over the last year and its made me a much stronger and more confident climber.
