It Keeps Going . Stop Golds you are pathetic. After robbing my bank account they say you have to mail your cancellation in. After a brief call after a 60 dollar deduction from my bank account I guy picks up and claims “he is going to make an exception “ for me to cancel my membership and sorry for the inconvenience. Zero empathy I’m just a check In Which he agreed . He mentioned that the Richmond Golds Gyms are franchised go there is no one to voice your feedback too if needed so I resorted to Google . At least RVA can get some honesty on the matter . If you glance a couple posts below you will see a reply that they sent offering to “review” my account . This “review” does nothing but allow them to start reciting contractual obligtions in which they are trained to do. Long story short Golds Gym Richmond is a scam. Dont shoot the messenger . Blessings

If you ever have to end your membership good luck. Made a few attempts to go in and end my membership during the week and on weekends. Me and my girlfriend kept being told that the manager had to be there for us to cancel and that he was not in. Now that I've moved to a different state they're telling me I have to mail them that we want to cancel and they "might" back log my payments to the letters date. Honestly don't even trust the company to report when they actually get the letter. I shouldn't be charged because the manager only works 5 hour shifts and doesn't always come in.

This was my first time trying Gold’s Gym. Location and cost were my initial reasons for choosing Gold’s Gym. Staff was very helpful and showed me around the gym prior to my workout. They answered all my questions. Facility had a variety of equipment to utilize and lots of duplicates to help eliminate the wait. They offer several classes throughout the day and provide a schedule ahead of time for those who wish to plan out their workouts. I would recommend this gym to anyone who isn’t looking for the big gym feel and price but still want the amenities and service.

I started going to the lunch GGX classes about a month or so ago and they are AMAZING!! The instructors (especially Kelsey Foster and Stacie Haygood) are wonderful, they make you feel so welcomed into each class and push you when you feel like walking out! They sincerely care about what they do and it shows in the classes they teach! They also take the extra time to answer questions or to show you a move you are struggling with. I wouldn't have the success in my weight loss journey if it wasn't for these classes or these two wonderful ladies! The other staff of the gym is also great! You are always greeted with a warm smile upon entering and the same smile when you leave! You never walk in here and feel not welcomed! Hats off to the gym and the instructors of the GGX classes!!

Went in there today to get a membeership, The girl that helped me (Bre I think was her name) was very nice! She gave me a tour of the gym and described the different types of memberships and fees in detail. Everyone seemed nice and the facility was very clean. Can't wait to start working out there!

This was a great place to work and the people are very friendly. Kieran in the Kids Club is a fantastic manager and is great with the kiddos. Check out the Kids Club and your kids will have a blast; with video games, puzzles, movies, board games, coloring and more! They are always getting new things for the Kids Club so there is also something to do for every age.

I do not normally review businesses online but my experience at Gold's Gym in Mechanicsville was so bad that this is much needed. I will start at the beginning about my experience about this gym from Hell. I desperately warn you not to give these people your credit card information. Read below to see why.I decided to join a gym and heard about the gym's $10 a month "no contract" deal. I joined the gym and went a total of three times before my credit card expired and they told me in order to continue to work out there, I had to renew my information with the gym. I decided to not renew because of the gym being dirty and the staff being very unpleasant. I left the gym and joined the YMCA, which is a much better gym by the way. I call to cancel my membership, but they tell me it needs to be done in person. I go in person and they tell me that the manager has to be present, which he wasn't. I give up and decide to just not give the gym my new credit card information.I am currently a student at Virginia Tech and one day I got an email saying that I owed $160 to Gold's Gym, which I had not even walked inside in more than 9 months because I was not allowed to and I was a member of the YMCA. I call the credit card company and they say to deal with manager of the gym so I call the manager. I soon learned that Gold's Gym is nothing but a bureaucracy where no one can give you an answer, but instead they refer you to others that also don't have an answer. I get no where with the manager, Billy Morgan, so I decide to go to the gym in person one weekend when I came home. All Billy Morgan did was give me the email address of his boss, so I emailed him the issue. I still have not gotten a response, more than a month later. When I was home for a weekend, me and my roommate from VT go to the gym and try to fix the issue. When I get to the gym, I cannot be helped because "no one is currently at the gym that can help you with your problem". I explain it needs to be fixed that day because I would be returning to VT the next day. The staff becomes extremely rude and finally calls the assistant manager, Eric. Eric is the most unpleasant person I have ever had to deal with in a business setting. He started off all fake and acting like I was right and should not have to pay the full $160 to the gym. I then tell him that I would be willing to pay $30 just to get the problem solved, but he wouldn't accept it. He said I had to pay because it lays out a clause in the contract I signed. I said "I thought this was a "no contract" gym?" He then tells me that it was an agreement and not a contract and then the man tries to explain to me the difference. A 30 year old man lying to my face and trying to back himself out of a corner. My roommate realizes that I am being screwed so he speaks up and tries to negotiate with Eric. Eric becomes even more rude to him after he realized that my roommate was bringing up solid points, including that he wasn't a member of the gym, yet I was being charged for 9 months where I didn't go to the gym once. Eric becomes so angry that he is now yelling at my roommate and tells him he is going to call the police on him for trespassing. He decided to help me finish dealing with the issue instead of leaving. Eric told someone to call the police, and about 10 minutes later, there were 6 police cars outside of the gym. I couldn't even believe it. It was like my friend and I went into the gym to shoot people and not fix an issue that I shouldn't have even had in the first place. The police question Eric and my roommate, and soon figure out that there was no need to call the police. The police leave after they ask Eric what happened. By the way, he lied to the police and said that my roommate was cursing out him and the employees, screaming, and verbally assaulting people. All of these are lies and I couldn't believe I was watching this man lie to the police. In the end I had to pay the money and got no where. This was the most unethical business practice I have ever seen, and I don't want you to experience what I did.

I have been a member of this gym for a year and have had nothing but a good experience here! I take my daughter to the Kids Club while I work out for 2 hours and she has always had a great time. Kieran, Trisha, and Raelynn especially have made me feel very secure that my daughter is taken care of while I'm not there. They have gotten to know her very well and don't treat her as just another number. She is played and interacted with (coloring, puzzles, games) and on days where it may be a little harder for her to watch me go, she is cuddled and reassured. I love those girls and have even asked one to babysit for me outside of the club, that's how much I trust them! When school is out or on the weekends that I bring my older 3 children (age 5, 7, 8) they have a good time playing video games and watching movies. Billy, the manager, is also very friendly and has gotten to know my daughter as well. He takes the time to talk to you and make you feel at home. I have enjoyed exercise classes (Pump, RPM, Sprint, Barre) with Desiree, Lauren, Esther, and Stacy. They are all very encouraging and push you when you really need it. I feel that for a smaller gym, it truly has everything you could want!!
