Good equipment. Good luck playin basketball since they have a yoga class every time I go in to play ball it seems like. Small gym but gets the job done as long as you're able to go in before 5PM. You're downtown though so be prepared for a lot of snobby females and bros walking around with a smirk on they're face like "Ohhhhhhhh yeahhhhhh I may not have the soul but I got the body. F yeah boiiiiiiiiiiiiii" other then that I would recommend to a friend.

I am very passionate about my children and need to keep an eye on them on a daily routine in the middle of my workouts I check on my kids and the ladies there said that we are not allowed to be in the back for more than 5 minutes and wouldn't let me have access to my children without my wife being present since she signed them in. I'm very disappointed in my decision in signing up with this gym. My children need to work out not just have a babysitter. California family fitness is always finding ways to take more money out of your pockets. I talked to the front desk and got the run around about my cancellation fees. Some of the employees were mocking and giggling under their breath. Tried to enforce rules that are not on the contracts. Then treated my children unprofessionally one she found out I was their parent. It seemed more like retaliation because of our disagreement.

This is my Wednesday night/Saturday morning gym as it has great classes, though I wish the basketball court had blinds. A class full of women will sometimes draw a crowd of men to stop and stare into the class, which can make you uncomfortable.

1-Most employees are nice, but a few are rude. I contacted the corporate office, they didnt follow up with me.2-Cal Family Fitness pricing is bs. They started me on 85$ per month earlier this year. Now I just asked an employee and was told that the fee is 52$/month. So Ive been paying more for no reason.3-no location/branch anywhere else in CA. So good luck if you go visit LA or Bay area.4-Theres a 6-month cancellation fee that they dont tell you at the beginning.5-this location has lots of parking but downtown location has parking issues especially where theres a game and all parkings are full.6-the gym is generally very clean. Theres a digital scale in men section.7-the pool is nice too.

Joined at $52.69 a month, jumped to $74.99 and I didn't catch it for two months as I had no idea the rates had become ridiculous. Canceling is next to impossible online, even the assistant manager had trouble with the process. Really? They don't value their members if they are pulling this for extra money. I could rejoin for less per month but again the process is so idiotic to maintain the membership that it is not worth it.

I have been coming since 2001 under the previous ownership. While I miss the old crowd of people, Cal Fit has done a great job updating and maintaining this gym. I do not like how hot it is in the morning- the heat is cranked up and I don’t even feel like I need to warm up. I’m sure some folks appreciate that, I find it stifling. It’s a small gym in an old building, but Cal Fit has found a way to fit so many gym amenities inside. However, I have difficulty finding a spot on the floor for any floor exercises or stretching that I want to do—especially if you are adding any equipment. There’s a few spots but they are prime real estate. Love that they kept towel service- I am spoiled by that and expect other Cal Fits to have towel service as well. Overall, it’s an enjoyable gym and even see some of the “old timers” (the Alhambra Athletic Club members) so it still feels like my little neighborhood gym.

Love the Star-Trac machines with the flip switches for selecting weight. Really need to get a second cable machine because the one gets busy.

I’m greeted each day by the amazing employees at this location. It’s a small gym with a welcoming family vibe. The equipment was recently updated. I enjoy the towel service, steam room, and pool. Great location, phenomenal employees, and kind attendees.

I appreciate this gym for the family friendliness. Staff is great, and it doesn’t feel like a meat market. Peak times usually don’t create too much of a problem in finding an open machine. The layout is a little odd but I don’t care about that. I get a good workout and it’s a comfortable environment.

Don't go here.I was a member for a year, because it felt like I had to be (be extra careful signing any contract with them, they'll even make you pay for an extra month after you cancel). The place is pretty small, and not all that clean. The steam room is almost always broken, and the hot tub usually has a thick layer of filth floating on it. I regret the hundreds of dollars I wasted here, there's not a single reason why you shouldn't choose any other gym you're considering.
