I am an employee, well lets consider this open and honest review my resignation, so former employee. To start, you have amazing employees in Duante, Francis, Rick, Jacob, The Janitorial staff, Jamie and the new employees Deborah and Demetri, unfortunately this staff is powerless to evoke change, change we would all like to see not just for the work enviroment but for whats most important, our customers because this is our community a community that has taken steps towards positive changes in their lives and i don't think its fair to them to have to deal with being treated like this.Since starting at this company a few months ago I have seen customers day in and day out be lied to, mistreated and conned out of money to fill a few employees pockets. Some employee will not honor the lower enrollment specials on basic and premium memberships and upsell customers as a way for them to circumvent "higher enrollment fees" which seems like a nice thing to the customer, unbeknownst to them there is generally a lower fee in the computer system, and actually about 20 different membership options to choose from.day after day customers come in to cancel or downgrade but were never told there are fees to do so, even though they are told to downgrade a month after so they can pay less and beat the system. SHADY.... cost $49 to downgrade, you are told 30 days because thats how long it takes for the commission to show up on their check, in reality it's California state law that says you have the right to cancel within 5 days and will be fully refunded, why wait 30 days? oh yeah commission thats right. These employess also have a habit of signing your contracts without you knowing and randomly manually charging customers cards for payment, no email, no call, no letter, no you, just your card info being used sporadically throughout the month. Even though the owner of the company has been sued for this previously not to mention for many other reasons.Front desk employees are supposed to alert you of a balance being no alerts are sent to customers, but usually they are too busy sitting or on their phones or wandering the gym talking to friends to notice, so later when they check the check-ins and see a balance they just manually attempt to charge you.... bad businessI have over 10 years in upper management experience, i have been an operations manager for large tech companies and oversaw over 200 employees over 3 states, and never have I seen a company so horribly run. I was a member of this gym long before an employee, and saw the rapid decline, saw a need and reached out, thought I could make a change. And I will.....I have reached out to a consumer rights lawyer and will shortly be sending the company a letter of intent regarding the shady business practices not only at this location but from reading reviews ALL locations, next step is a civil suit to ensure customers are justily reimbursed for any and all wrongdoings. If you are interested in joining this lawsuit please feel free to message me, I have over the past 2 months collected documentation and evidence to back my claims, have customer statements and statements from past employees. I have made attempts to make changes but they go unheard and the shady practices continue. Also the machines are always broken, corporate is cheap and slow so they will always be broken, elevator is broken which is against the law being there is no handicap access and we have elderly and handicapped customers who are members through their insurance, the price online can always be honored in store, gym will always be unorganized because we are understaffed, again corporate is cheap, most of us who open and close never get a break sorry if you see us standing at the desk, we want to pick up and wipe down equiptment and actually do something because standing one spot is suuuuuuper boring but, we also have to make sure we alert customers of balances, make sure no one sneaks in, be available to assist customers with questions and issues etc. well at least a few of us do.see my yelp review

Large gym with friendly staff and plenty of machines. There should be more power racks for squats and such, more barbells too, but overall it's a good facility. In addition their prices are very reasonable. For a low monthly rate you can have access to any of their gyms, all over Northern CA.

Good gym as far as equipment goes. However I have been going there for 10 years and it has been going downhill ever since it was Gold's Gym. They covered up the spa. The steam room is always broken in the men's locker room. There is never any towels Kleenex or paper towels. The group Bike classes, Pilates and kickboxing, are shut down. Instead they force you to upgrade your membership for their group fit classes.

This gym has changed ownership at least 3 different times since I've been a member (roughly 3 years). The equipment is often out of service and the equipment that is working, tends be pretty filthy. I pay 25 bucks a month for an elite type membership. It is supposed to include, classes, tanning beds, hydro maasage bed, however; all of those services that I pay for have been removed. When I spoke to the people at the front desk, I told them I wanted to downgrade my membership to the 10 bucks a month. I was told it would cost me 50 dollars to do so. I asked them how they could seriously charge me the 25 a month when they have taken away all the services that I am paying for, on top of charging me the 50 to downgrade. I was told they can justify this because they offer evo fit at a discounted price. BS answer. I was pissed. I will be calling their corporate office to downgrade soon.

Some of their treadmills have issues with its brakes and would abruptly stop which would cause you to slip or trip. This is pretty prevalent among the Fitness evolution treadmills at multiple locations. Either I am too heavy for the treadmills or they just need to be fixed. I notified some of the people at front desk but seems like nothing has been done to fix it. Oh well, what do you expect from a gym that you pay only $10/month for. Guess I can't complain too much but i just wanted to throw this out there for ya'll.

I've been going to this gym location, under different ownership, for over 9 years. It has one of the best layouts in Sacramento. The current ownership started off good with maintenance and equipment upgrades to go along with the best pricing in the area. Although the pricing has stayed the same the overall quality is going down. I would rather pay a little more for my membership to improve quality, then to have to deal with the gym in its current state.

Don't waist your time and money on a place that now has cancel their evening group classes because the A/C has been broken since almost 3 months. Can you imagine that under this summer temperatures? They said they will fix it, but it's still broken. And just told you that they are ordering parts and working on it, but it cost $25,000 to repair it. So, it's better for the owner to continue charging your monthly without fixing what is needed. I would like to see why "the owner" doesn't answer this reviews when we are telling the truth.

The worst gym ever!!! I have sent 3 emails in the last month to get a refund on training that I never received. This is my second review, because not one person has gotten back to me. I would never pay for training with this company again. They are unprofessional and irresponsible. I am now having to sue them for $250. How ridiculous is that?! They are basically thieves, they take your money and give you crap service. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra few dollars for a quality gym.

Gym use to be awesome up until recently they moved things around made it more crowded (literally working out on bench and when I stand up I bump into soemone.) Basically they try to make the gym more for who take their classes because they give them a bigger area to work in verses everyone else who have to suffer. On top of that the classes are only two hours a day. Another thing is men's sauna is more like a refrigerator I get more of a sweat sitting in my car on a rainy day. Also locker is a mess 60% broken, 30% empty but locked, 10 being used by current people working out. However they say it will be fixed soon but i highly doubt that since I was told that last year.

bathrooms dirty, staff are rude and lazy if you ask a question.Especially the young man who works most nights not the one with braces who is actually really nice and helpful. The one with the beard.Always turns tv's off a hour early even if you are watching . Ask for a channel change and he acts like he can't although every other person working will.It may take 5 hrs but they will.Everything is constantly breaking.Way too crowded and they play the music like it's a night club super loud and annoying. Also the weekend hours suck closing at 8 pm that's lame.Wish there was a closer gym to me I'd go there
