Gracie Barra Tacoma

I saw a Add on my Facebook for a free trail class and uniform, I showed up and OMG was it the best thing I have ever done for my self! I signed up that same night, the staff the professors, coaches and people are so friendly and welcoming! The professor not only explained what we had to do in a way that we can all under stand but he did it slowly, step by step and fast and make sure we understood what was taught before we actually practiced. I also didn’t realize how much of a work out it was lol but when I say it’s worth it and for everyone I mean it alll ages can do it and it’s a fun work out for the whole family !

Staff are Excellent, Customer Service is A+, Facility is secure, clean and atmosphere is professional/classy. Stall / Students are respectful. Great Value / place to train. Simply the Best! A+

My daughter loves going to this class. Jiu Jitsu will strengthen and improve not only her confidence, but give her the discipline and focus more in school. She wants to get into the competitions as well.

I personally Gracie Barra Tacoma and Greg Jones As a contest prep coach. I hired Greg to work with me to add size and to help with overall condition for the upcoming bodybuilding seasons. And within the first five minutes I knew I would be taken care of, professionally with individual care and a plethora of knowledge.When he and I started, he was very open and honest about the process, that it will take time, that’ll take patience but he assured me I will get the results I wish, and I will be competition ready. An old mentor of mine one said “pressure and time make a diamond.” Greg believes in that method as well, and I trust him and Gracie Barra Tacoma regarding my bodybuilding future.I personally recommend working with these folks.Being in the fitness industry myself, it’s nice to know that someone has my back and is making sure I do my best. Greg and Gracie Barra take the mission of pushing others and helping with growth very seriously. The sky’s the limit and we’re just tapping in to my full potential.

Gracie Barra Tacoma is an excellent BJJ / Martial Arts academy. Professor Josh Calvo is a phenomenal, high level, Instructor who has the ability to explain BJJ concepts to students of all age group (young children to adults) and experience level (novice to level). Professor Josh makes it a point to check on each student individually during the class. Gracie Barra has a very organized teaching curriculum that is very transparent to students (and parents). Children’s classes are broken down by age group. The students and instructors in this school are friendly and treats everyone with respect. The monthly school dues are very affordable since they are open 6 days / week and has classes in the morning, lunchtime and evening. No hidden fees or long term contract (it’s month to month). It is worth trying their Free classes offer in their website. Going online to sign up for free class got me a FREE BJJ Gi / kimono! Highly recommended for children and adults. Very pleasantly surprised to find this school. Definitely true when they say “Jujitsu for everyone.”

Awesome people! Great training and environment. Professor is very professional, knowledgeable, humble and humorous. I came with no knowledge other than YouTube and listening to podcasts about bjj and everyone was able and willing to teach me at the lowest level and didn’t try to make me feel like a moron.

We transferred gyms to this location and it was the best decision! The professors and coaches are all amazing. Everyone is so friendly. The coaches are great with the kiddos in teaching techniques safely and encouraging them to do their best. I can't recommend jiu-jitsu enough for kids, but especially this gym! Thank you for taking such great care of my boys and pushing them to get better every class.

I enjoy Gracie Barra Tacoma. I just started my journey here. I am excited to train and learn. The staff is welcoming, friendly and encouraging. The gym is very clean and the students are respectful. Come train with this awesome family!

My son has been been really struggling with his listening and focus since covid started. Everyone at this school has been so amazing and patient with him. while other places gave up on him in a few days and just said he didn't listen well enough. Gracie Barra Tacoma has not. my son loves going. I have only great things to say about this place and all the instructors.

I just started training here at Gracie Barra Tacoma, and I am really enjoying my training here!! The staff and other trainees are very welcoming and always willing to help out and show things that I might not understand right away. Best workout I have ever been apart of. I leave every class drenched in sweat, and feeling that much more confident!!
