Many businesses have catchy slogans that is only a marketing ploy with no meaningful backing behind it. The slogan for Gracie Barra is "Jiu-Jiutsu For Everyone." As a complete beginner to the world of Jiu Jitsu, I chose Gracie Barra Tacoma for its location, credentials, and professionalism. After several weeks of training, I know I’ve made an excellent choice; the staff, coaches, and classmates have made this transition and learning curve an enjoyable and exciting process. I love this gym! Super new to jiu jitsu or any form of martial arts training for that matter and was a little nervous. However, everyone here has been so welcoming! Coach Alline was so helpful in getting me started.

I came here one year ago having never have been involved in any kind of martial arts and it’s been a great year. It changed my life. I make sure I get enough sleep and eat clean so that I can be in my top form every day for class. Professor Josh, Professor Abel, and Coach Alilne provide a safe, clean, and welcoming environment. That resonates throughout the students. It’s a family.

The more experienced students are skilled and are willing to work with you to share their knowledge and encourage you. The gym itself is clean and welcoming.
