Planet Fitness at 2217 N Pearl St is very welcoming and clean. Staff is very friendly and professional. Actually enjoy working out at the gym and feel guilty when we have to miss a day.

The staff is always very nice and TR the past few times I’ve been there at night has been extremely welcoming, kind and helpful! Wanted to give him specifically a shout out so your management sees what an asset he is being apart of your team at the Pearl St Tacoma location.

Good music at a nice volume so you can hear your earbuds over it, or just listen to what they have playing. Most of the people going here are good about wiping down the equipment after they get done using it.Water station is available. The VIP area is nice with comfortable seating and TV as well as enough privacy to take a phone call.Tanning and Total Body Enhancement seemed to have new bulbs and the doors stayed shut.

This isn’t a one star for the location, it’s one star for the rudest employee I’ve ever encountered here. Peter should not have a customer facing position. As someone who has been in retail management for over a decade, Peters attitude isn’t it. From the moment I walked in, he wouldn’t look up from his phone or pull out his airpod. He gestured to a paper for me to write my info on, never explaining why, as this isn’t normal for this location. After my workout I asked for a hydro bed, he let me know they were down and said I could pay for one, even though I already pay for my membership. I asked to tan and he told me to scan my key card. I let him know that I hadn’t had a key card since prior to Covid and asked for a new one, at which point he rolled his eyes and said they’re not giving them out anymore. I asked how I was supposed to tan then and he told me to download the app. I quite literally tanned here earlier this week with no card or app. I asked him if this was new in the last 48 hours and he said yes. It took me over five minutes to get him to get me into the bed. He refused to help and kept raising his voice and giving me minimal information. He then assigned me to the one tanning room that already had someone in it. When I came back and asked for a new one he was rude again. He then put me in the bed for two minutes less than I asked for. I’ll be following up with management, but if you see Peter, don’t expect him to treat you with basic kindness.

Staff is great but several issues why I left.1)They do not have enough stair master machines usually full.2) They moved stair master machines 2 ft from each other, hard to keep your space if you are trying to prevent break through infections.3) good negative airflow system but fans on ceiling blow air away from this system which makes no sense the way it is set up.Would consider rejoining in spring if they fix 1,2. For now it is just not worth it, back to spin bike at home.

If you want a very chill environment and no distraction work out this is a great gym. Any time I go it's never packed and mainly all the equipment is always open. And it's 24/7 love it. On a night when I want to get in sweat and get out.

This is not so much as a review for this location but a review for a specific person. His name is Peter and the service he provided for me was nothing but exceptional. Compared to other locations, Peter's provided service was superior. His kindness and charismatic personality is what will keep me coming here!

Overall it's good place to workout. The black card membership is worth the price for what you get. They have quite a lot of cardio machines which is nice because most gyms don't have enough of those. They also have plenty of weightlifting equipment as well. The only thing I don't like is that they don't inforce the mask mandate. Also, don't go after the high schools let out. Groups of teenagers hog the weight machines and they don't wipe them down after using them.

This is a good gym. I have visited about 5 times now and decided on their classic membership. Its a great value for what they offer. First of all, the gym is always clean and there are enty of self-cleaning supplies available after you are finished with a machine. Secondly, the team members who work there have been attentive, knowledgeable, and helpful. I really enjoyed how easy it is to sign up there. It has been a nice contrast to being "sold something" every time I walk through the door. I think other can do sometimes gyms overdo that. There are plenty of machines available for compete body workouts. The free weight options are somewhat limited, but only by the weight amount, not the quantity. (For example, the free dumbbells stop at 75 lbs.. but for most of us that's okay.)There are also no free weight bench presses, but the Smith machine can be used for bench. If you are comfortable in a gym, this facility has everything you need!
