Been going to this place and the gg express in belmead. Belmead is alor nicer. New road waco...broken machinery and way too often, no paper towels..in any of the dispensers..for days back to back. This place needs a manager.

I enjoy my time here. The staff is great and extremely helpful. They keep the gym clean and they have lots of different classes to choose from.

No more punching bags... And bathroom stall door has been broke off the hinges for about a month. Gym has potential just needs some updates and equipment could stand to be worked on. Ok gym but if a la fitness showed up in town it would hurt this place pretty bad

The gym is verynice and well taken care of, all the people are very kind that work there. They have free weights, a hot tub, pool, sonna, aerobics mations and so much more. There is even an all women's section that has everything as well but for only women.

BEWARE OF FRAUDULENT BILLING PRACTICES!!! I paid cash periodically to maintain a positive balance of $100 or more to avoid having my credit card billed. I started receiving calls stating my card denied the charges (card had been canceled years before) . Cassie at the local gym verified that I was a month ahead and couldn't figure why they were doing that and would get it corrected. I continued to get calls until I told them to cancel my membership. I was subsequently turned in to a debt collector that will now be wasting their time and resources trying to collect this non-debt. BEWARE!!!

I signed up for a 3 day free pass online, and I was greeted & let in by a staff member at the front desk the day that I activated it. Upon my 3rd day at this gym on my 3 day trial, I wasn’t greeted pleasantly. The Young lady at the front desk was VERY rude and unfriendly. Then as I proceeded to workout...my workout was interrupted by an extremely rude & beligereant male sales representative who came into the women’s locker room to inform me that he’s seen me in the gym before. I proceeded to tell him that I have a guest pass and I’m on my third day. He then tried to tell me that I came to that specific location on January 5th and I informed him that I didn’t. I told him I’ve only been in Waco for a week due to work, this is my first time ever coming to Waco & if it wasn’t for work purposes then there’s no reason I’d even be here. I also told him that I visited a location in Corpus Christi, Tx back in January which is why he’s seeing that entry from me then. He informed me that because I wasn’t from the area, I couldn’t workout here, but if I did want to workout he told me I had to sign up for the $50 membership or pay for a guess pass that costs $16.50 for one day which is insane, especially since they close at midnight, the gym is small, and staff is ignorant of their own policies and rules. They’ll also try to lie and say the free pass is only good for one day when it clearly says it’s good for 3 days in fine print. Instead of giving me the courtesy of finishing my workout since I was already let in by the front desk associate, the sales rep gave me the ultimatum of purchasing the guest pass or membership. He was very aggressive, confrontational, he had unprofessional tone and demeanor, and was also short spoken with me and kept repeating himself in an aggravated tone. After having this experience, I would NEVER get a membership here. I’ve worked at a gym myself before, so I know the ins and outs of the gym environment, and how to treat members and/potential members. With this being said, I did not sign up for the membership nor did I pay for a guess pass. I travel w/my job, I was interested in getting a membership originally but not anymore. I will take my business elsewhere.

Average [overcrowded and overpriced]I’m a medical professional and military veteran [regularly lifted and ran since my teens]. I’ve been working out here for the last couple of years, but am unsure if I will renew my membership. The location on New Road used to be open 24hrs/day Mon-Fri. They have recently discontinued the early morning hours. This is extremely frustrating given the cost of membership as it forces member to work out during already overcrowded peak hours. Obviously this will get worse now due to the restricted hours and the fact it’s January. I have left multiple messages with the gym manager, Randall, and even stopped by to try and speak with him about this. I prepaid for a year upfront and am essentially going to be out two months of gym dues because the new hours are not conducive to my work schedule. I feel this is no different than a breach of contract. Anyway, two weeks later, I’ve yet to receive a response, call, or follow-up of any kind. This gives you an idea of what type of customer service you can expect from management once you sign up.If you are new to working out and are unsure of your commitment level, I would recommend Planet Fitness. It has better maintained equipment and the dues are much more reasonable. They have plenty of excellent cardio equipment, decent amt of dumbbells, and weight machines (plus they are actually open 24hrs/day). The downside is they don’t have barbells which prevent you from barbell bench pressing, squatting, or deadlifting. The cardio equipment at Gold’s is ok if the gym is empty; otherwise it’s a gamble. I’ve found that some of the treadmills “skip” if I am sprinting. Also some of the weight machines have torn pads with cushioning exposed. Sweat gets absorbed into the cushion and not only smells disgusting but can be a potential source of staph infection. For gym regulars who need a 24hr gym, I’d recommend stacking a PF membership with either Gym X or Underground Performance. If you don’t need a 24hr gym and are ok fighting the crowds, I’d still stack a PF membership with golds just to have access to better cardio equipment. Good luck; I’m still hoping a 24 hr Fitness opens up in Waco.

The is literally no way I would ever step foot in this gym. The manager Randall has ruined the image of the gym for me by contacting me 6 times, after I have left multiple messages with multiple staff members to not be contacted by anyone. The recruiting salespeople at Gold's are some of the most unprofessional salespeople I have ever met, solely in their attempt to recruit me by pestering me over and over. I am in sales, and I laugh every time anyone from this gym tries to contact me, as it only worsens my view of this gym, every single time. I have told everyone who I know that works out in Waco how unprofessional and annoying your staff is, and how awesome the staff at Planet Fitness is in my opinion.... multiple times. I called the corporate office about the manager and employees, as they do not seem to take no for an answer, and continue to keep you on their lead sheet despite multiple attempts to tell them to take you off. The fact that multiple people on the staff... the manager Randall and Graham... just pester people non stop to sign up isn't following up on leads, its just sad. They really need better leadership, and sales training. I will continue to happily work out at Planet Fitness, where I don't get harassed non stop. And I have heard from multiple other people that this is the case for them as well. I have left multiple messages for Randall and have NEVER heard back from him. I will be calling the Corporate office this morning as soon as they open.
