The staff is wonderful and the classes are just what I need for a great cardio on the run workout. I enjoy all Gold's gym has to offer.

I was a guest at this gym, using my travel pass. I brought my two children, age 3 and 6 months old. I was very disappointed in their childcare facility. The facility, including the floors and the restroom were very dirty!! I was not greeted or given instruction into their childcare policies. I did not feel like the childcare workers were attentive, as they were both sitting on a bench away from the childcare. If you need to bring your children with you to workout, I would not recommend this facility.

The Gold's Gym EQUIPMENT is pretty well overall. Unfortunately, I was misinformed about the conditions of the contract by one of the staff members. As a result, I was dealing with having to pay $40/ month for something I did not initially sign up for. There was no way to get out of the contract unless I paid off the entire years worth of payments. I was also told that Gold's Gym is the only gym with a sauna which is INCORRECT. Luckily, I survived my year with this gym but noticed they were still withdrawing the $20 biweekly payment. After i spoke to an employee, he told me that I have to MANUALLY cancel the contract and was paying the same $40/month but without the contract (which was also never discussed with me). AFTER I CANCELLED MY CONTRACT ONLINE, I got a notification stating that I still have to pay one more month JUST BECAUSE I did not notify my cancellations a month prior. All of this was said to make sure you know what you are getting into with this gym. Quite frankly, there are much cheaper gyms in Waco that provide the same equipment without the hassle of a contract or excessive fees for members/guests.

I love all of the evening classes: Body Step, RPM, Body Pump, and Body Combat. The best part is that they start after 5 pm, which gives me and probably many others a chance to get an awesome workout after working all day. The evening instructors(Holly Hubbard, Kiersten Schwinn, Elisabeth Avila Luevanos, Amy Russell) just to name a few are very motivating and always make your workout exciting. I miss body attack and wish they would bring it back in the evening. Maybe for the new year that will be one of the new class added to the schedule. There also used to be a Body Step on Mondays at 6 pm, please please bring it back.

Dear Golds Gym WacoI used to be a cocky, little arrogant personal trainer, fitness professional and manager just like you. I used to have free access to all the hot gyms around town. And yes, just like you all, I used to get tired of saying hello to every single person that came in. I'm not going to lie, I used to shut people down right in their tracks when people wanted to chat it up with me.But now that I am a customer, I realize a few things. There are clients all over your gym, just like me, that leave it all on your floor every single time they come in. Yes, they bypass chattin it with the staff so that they can stay focus on their mission. But make no mistake about it every single time a person just like me comes in they are establishing a very personal relationship with your facility. So when one of you members, gets hurt or injured through no fault of his/her own because of your facilities negligence, defective or faulty equipment, the very least you can do is offer up an apology to your member.Apologies are the super glue of life. It can repair just about anything, only if you can set aside your muscle head ego to do it.In this life, when you deny someone an apology, you will remember it at time you beg forgiveness.R 2.0

I closed my account with an ex employee named Sean... I provided proof of relocation which was hours away from the closest Gold's gym ( I also was laid off suffering financial hardship) and was told that that allowed me to break a contract. He told me he successfully submitted all documentation and the account was closed. We shook hands and parted ways. Years have gone by and no charges on my account. No bills. No calls. No notices. Now 3 years later I am preparing for our twins to be born with a wife about to be put on bedrest and I get a notification from my bank showing that we are in the negative for a $900+ charge. Golds gym charged my account. We called the corporate office. Because they had the wrong address they refused to assist us. They referred us back to the opening branch. We called and spoke to our operations manager. Told her everything and she told us that she had only recently taken over and cannot help us but it was so wrong and she was so sorry. She cancelled the account and told us that we had to speak to cooperate. We called the department for billing and asked for their manager. We were told 2 times by two employees that we had to talk with them first, then that we were not allowed to hold for a manager. We informed them we had multiple auto drafts pending that would accumulate fees at the bank and it was time sensitive! They offered to transfer to a voicemail or hang up. Those are our options. I asked for the complaint department of corporate to which another employee responded " I am corporate" and hung up on us. I called again 4 times. No call back. My 6 month pregnant wife with twins who cannot be stressed was in tears having a panic attack which almost caused her to be hospitalized. Our rent is due and multiple charges are pending which will incure fees. We provided the employee name and date of cancellation and were berated and finally told if we didn't have a confirmation code (that was never provided) from their employee who was let go for obvious reasons that we were STILL under contract (they told us 2 year but now somehow it was 4 with no paperwork to prove so) and continue to be charged. We have since closed the account and reported the charges and will be taking them to small claims court and counter seeing for damages and pain and suffering if this is not fixed. I am disgusted and appalled.

I come from a family of athletes. My father was a professional baseball player, my sister is a usa winter olympian and I was a semi-professional ballet dancer. At 51, last summer I found myself out of shape and overweight. I started coming to Golds first on the treadmill and then eventually into the step aerobics classes. I like classes more than working out alone and have taught ballet myself so this is a good fit for me and is the class that keeps my legs in shape as well as the weight off. I also take the body pump class with my husband. It is fun to go together as well as we both wanted to strengthen our core and arms for water skiing that we both enjoy on the weekends. He also attends the spin class that he really enjoys. I also changed my diet to protein, fruits and veggies and am now back into my 4's and 6's.The teachers are encouraging, challenging and take the time to welcome you in like a family. Each teacher has a different style, personality and something different to offer. My husband and I are enjoying being a part of Golds gym at this season of our lives.

Gold's is a great place to work out, with lots of cardio and hammer strength equipment. They have a daycare for those with little ones which seems to be well staffed. Gold's does suffer from large crowds at peak times and a few people there with the "meat head" mentality.Would recommend if you can deal with large crowds and sharing equipment at times.

Friendly and educated staff every day no matter what time of day. Clean gym with plenty of equipment. Totally worth it.
