Planet Fitness

Hands down the cleanest gym I've been to. Phenomenal equipment and staff. Literally was just visiting in town for work and stopped by and was very impressed. I thought the gym had just opened with how clean it was, but they have been open for 6 years.

The only things keeping it from 5 stars for me is the lack of free weights and change in hours. Wish they'd go back to 24 hours. But I'm sure there is a reason. Reason number 2 is The smith machine is really not the best thing for bench press and shoulders. The safety aspect of working out alone is cool. But definitely not good for range of motion. I'd really love to see free benches and heavier weights. But otherwise have enjoyed the place for quite some time.

This is probably the best run planet fitness of the 9 or 10 I’ve been to. It’s clean and constantly being clean but the biggest benefit is that there are 6 smith machines whereas in most locations there are only 4. The one annoying thing is that they make you sign your name on a piece of paper if this isn’t your home location which is seemingly pointless

By far .. the best location in the Valley. Staff is beyond helpful and friendly. Great environment. Lots of equipment. On the rare occasion something is broken, it is repaired with 48 hours. Most importantly .. it is the CLEANEST gym I have ever been to.

I’ve been coming here for years, and really enjoy it. Everybody is super nice and makes sure to greet me when I arrive and tell me goodbye when I’m leaving. Machines are always clean. Ethan is the best, he knows me by name and is super friendly and personable.

I just recently canceled my membership due to the lack of free weights, as I’ve gotten so far with this gym I need to use them. As a beginner this specific PF location is great. The staff is very friendly. I never downloaded the app or got the keychain thing to sign in so I had to have them manually sign me in and they always did it without a complaint. Specifically, Camron, Elizabeth, and the guy with the amazing blonde curly hair and glasses and all very sweet. (Sorry if I spelled ur name wrong lol) They also do a great job at keeping the gym clean, including the bathrooms! I constantly see a employee walking around with their cute little cart cleaning the place up. On another note, all the machines are in great condition, none of the benches have those cracks in the leather, no squeaky machines, and I rarely ever see that sign that says the machine needs maintenance. Lastly thank you so much PF team for giving me a safe space to figure out my fitness journey. <3

I like how the showers are designed in the man’s restroom, which makes it easy to change the clothes immediately after taking a shower without finding an empty stall to dress up again. The water in the shower is also quite warm. And the staff members are quite friendly*But one thing that I wish is that the water would be more hotter

Edit2(As promised, follow-up with cancellation. Cancellation was very easy, just show up in person and sign a form. That was nice.The staff asked if it was something wrong that caused it but didn't seem prepared for an answer. I mentioned that "was a number of things" and they just said ok.As you can see by the company response, they didn't really read my review and that's kind of my point.)Edit(changed from 2 to 1 star. Just can't deal with it any more. The selling points that Planet Fitness offered just aren't there any more and I feel deceived every time I can't finish a workout. The following things that were selling points that I feel are now lacking (at least at this location, Taylorsville has always been a good experience)Effectively no:-30 minute workout-No "lunks"-Upholding PF policy (esp. COVID related)-Adequate equipment-Equipment upkeep/safety (didn't mention earlier but a few months ago I found a loose bolt in the mechanism on a machine and notified staff. Nothing was done and the machine was left in use until at least the next day.)The gym is probably 3 stars overall, for cleanliness and amenities, but the lack of service and upholding selling points are enough to change.Vasa opens a new location in 9 days. I'll move. At least with Vasa I know what to expect. Also staff actually tries to help and I'm not intentionally limited to certain workouts.In a couple weeks I'll update with cancellation experience.)Growing frustrations. Currently this place isn't what I signed up for, often feeling like a disaster. Talked to staff a bunch of times and the only thing they've actually done something about is refilling a sanitizer station after I notified them for a week (3 times)Members blatantly disregard COVID policies, removing signs on equipment or even sitting right on the signs. One regular is persistently coughing lately, and front desk staff says "yeah that's not right. Later this week I'll see what my manager says about that."There aren't enough 45lb plates. Last Saturday a guy had *20 plates* at the leg press (good for him) which left only 4 plates available that I could see. All 4, in use at one smith machine. There should probably be at least another 10 plates but maybe more.I did the "30 minute workout" the other day at 5am. *8 people* came in and sat on machines like it's their home gym and only chair in the house. 2 of them happened to choose my next station in the circuit. Not one other person did any circuit.I haven't finished a full circuit in over a year because of this issue.Here's the thing. I notified staff of all of these things. They tell me they're either understaffed, they'll "check it out", or they say they'll fix/refill but they don't. It's gotten to the point where *I'm* asking people in the 30 minute circuit area if they are doing the rotation. I'm at the point where I'm gonna change gyms. Vasa doesn't have a 30 minute circuit, but apparently neither does Planet Fitness.Oh by the way, Saturday I literally saw a guy working out in boots and jeans. The antithesis of Planet Fitness in their own gym. (But seriously why should I care about that. They were minding their own business)

Why haven’t I joined sooner!? Super clean, super amazing staff, the fact that they do free personal training instead of paying someone else $50 per session??? Uh, YES PLEASE! Never going to another gym! I love this place!

Kandice! This lady deserves to be mentioned. She usnice to everyone Over the last couple years Unless I have my kids I have very little conversations. I'm a middle aged man going through hard times and my only thing I get to do for myself is the gym. Having this young lady smile and greet me by my name lifts my spirits everytime. I know it's a small thing but I did years if this for others in hotel industry, so nice to see some young adults still have this. All the staff is amazing,. It's always clean, I don't feel like I have to have a shin tattoo or MMA background to workout. Best value of any club, tanning, massage, thanks guys, kinda the Chick Fila of gyms!!!!!
