I love this gym, i was going to go to planet fitness but when i checked out this place i got a way better vibe. everything was more professional and clean. this gym is like my 2nd home, only thing i’d change is to have more squat racks. I usually go to the squat rack in the very back and in a matter of 30 minutes i usually have 2-4 people come back there to check if anyone’s on it and i feel bad bcuz i still got like 5 more sets 😂 (only on a busy night tho that happens) but still i think there should be some more squat racks. but that’s all. i love it there.

Sam was engaging and remarkably pleasant to associate with. She is knowledgeable, thorough and lively. Staff members by far are engaging and friendly here and the environment seems sanitary and well maintained.

I've been a member for decades. Defined is a solid gym prior to 3p.m.. Sadly, though, for us, they have yet to update the San Mateo branch. Fortunatly weights are still weights; however, some are poorly marked (rubber plates). Many of the lockers in the men's room are broken. On the upside, the early morning staff is awesome.

Great gym....IF YOU WANT TO GET COVID!!!! They don't enforce mask mandates EVER and will let other members THREATEN YOU if you ask them to follow the rules! There's signage everywhere reminding people of their policy but the STAFF WONT DO ANYTHING to keep you safe!

Erica went above and beyond for our group. I would be comfortable recommending any of my friends to her establishment.

I am very impressed with this gym. I really like the old school feel of this gym. Operations Manager Matthew really has this gym looking great. I workout at the Defined Fitness Capital Club in Santa Fe and what I noticed immediately was all machines are functioning and operational to be used. Not like the Santa Fe gym where it seems like every other machine is broken. Thank you. Keep up the awesome job.

I really like Defined, but this location is okay at best. Compared to the Juan Tabo location, where I usually go, this one is rough.Definitely a smaller location overall, which makes it very cramped, especially when it's busy. There's simply isn't enough room for all the machines AND the people that want to use them. There's only a few racks and parking is always a nightmare to top it all off.

**Edit 2 in response to defined fitness response. I have called and email the manager at the McCloud location, so if your happy to help respond to the attempts at communication I have made.Edit* Two months later after multiple conversations with the manager who refused to refund the majority of the charges, because it was not defined fitness's fault, but assured me my account was closed, Defined fitness tried again to charge my account.Unless you plan to stay at this gym forever I would avoid it like the plague. They act like they never got your cancelation notice and then continue to charge you. When you call them out on it they say they never received your notice despite you giving it in writing and email.

The gym itself is fine, the cancellation process is a pain. They will try and fleece you for every penny with made up fees and cancellation problems and paperwork. You're going to end up having to block them on your credit card.

The Metro Location on McCloud has gone downhill since covid. It was great for so many years but now it's become a slum. The women's dressing room and pool area are dirty, smelly and becoming a hazard. The hot tub is rarely working, steamroom has been shut for over 2 years and the floor of the sauna recently had gum wrappers and used water bottle on the floor. Sadly, it's finally time for me to give ot up.
