Great gym, very friendly employees and polite staff. The classes are awesome and the personal trainer Thomas is awesome. Only down side is that he is too booked which brings down the customer service expected from a personal trainer like messaging you to encourage you not to miss your training session and stuff which is not his fault. He is just too booked and doesn’t have the time to do that. Apart from that, it’s awesome! I’ll always recommend if you have a fixed stable schedule!

I’ve been going to this gym for over a year, and I’m realizing how they hire younger people to work the front desk at night...they seem like teens who don’t really care to be polite or professional. This one girl working said to me “can you get out?” when I was in the locker room and they needed to close it so they could fix a toilet. That’s just plain rude. I would appreciate a higher level of customer service especially from a gym that prides itself on caring for its members. The bathrooms are also very dingy and don’t seem to be cleaned often. I like defined, and I’m going to consider switching to another club location.

Perhaps I'm feeling a bit sentimental as I'm writing this review, but I miss going to Defined Fitness off of San Mateo. Just a skip hop and a jump from where I used to live, this location never allowed me much room to stay home and take a rest day.Though not as large as some of their other locations, this Defined Fitness came fully loaded nonetheless. The business hours were great and going during the late-night hours (closes at 12 pm) allowed me to avoid the crowds and to (usually) workout interrupted; a luxury, not all gyms provide. As is the case with any busy gym, machines broke but were typically repaired within a week. Staff and trainers alike were always polite as they were knowledgeable (major plus). Aidan, in particular, was always a joy to see at the front counter and made the check-in process as painless as could be.Some people may gripe about the monthly membership fee here, however, if you consider how much money is typically spent on just eating out every month, the membership fee really isn't all that outrageous. Especially if you frequent the gym more than three times a week.

I will tell others what they want to know about gyms. It is clean, the water is clear and you can smell chlorine, which is good. Who wants to catch a bug or a fish?? Not me for sure. Lots of activities and they took our senior citizens free pass from our insurance. There are shower rooms with lockers, men and women seperate, clean and so senior or not go get it on girls and guys and get in shape or stay in shape for you! Love you, and take care of you, ALWAYS !!😁😍😎😘

Low key, no pressure staff; very nice and accommodating. Clean facility with new and clean equipment. Great pre and post workout nutrition available in the easy access refrigerators. I go here several times a week because I work close by but I still find myself driving here to workout on the weekends; even though I live on the far West side of town.

Defined Fitness on San Mateo is a really nice gym. I very much enjoy the variety of group exercise classes offered as well as the volume of weights and cardio machines available. The locker rooms are pretty nice, but the showers could be updated a bit and it would be nice to have a swim suit spinner for the patrons. Finally, I would love to have separate steam rooms for the men and the women, but that does not detract from the quality of the club.

I love the classes and most of the instructors at the McLeod location. Jonathan Gallegos, Victoria Rodriguez, Melissa Hebert, and Nick Gerich are especially amazing!!! They motivate everyone in class and provide modifications as needed. They also inspire and genuinely connect with the class with great energy and enthusiasm. Mostly, I go to this gym for these classes and I try to tell everyone I know about them as well. Its been a wonderful experience because of these individuals.

I have been going to Defined for over 10 years. They are always friendly and helpful when you need anything. I don't like that they don't supply towels, but it is what it is. They do get busy at certain times, which I avoid. I love to take spin and workout classes to change it up. I also like that they have Peeled meals there, which is super convenient.

So clean and a great atmosphere. Very upbeat and energetic, locker rooms and equipment are well maintained. And management is quick to squash ANY inappropriate comments or behavior. As a woman, that just makes me feel so much safer even though I have only had one issue like that in 8 years of working out. Love this place!
