Not sure about the negative reviews - the rep clearly laid out all the fees and costs (at least mine did - maybe they were more hidden in the past) when I signed up. You get discounts based on health insurance, age, military status, etc... so the monthly costs will vary by person. It's a fantastic gym with lots to do and they plan to extend it with more goodies. Staff is very friendly, they have plenty of space, gyms scattered all over ABQ that you have access to, and lots of classes included with membership. I'm very happy with it. Just ask questions and know what you're getting into and you should be fine.

I get a discounted rate because of my health insurance, which makes the price very fair given everything Sports & Wellness has to offer. From free weights, machines, TRX, exercise bikes, treadmills, ellipticals, year round pools, hot tubs, basketball courts, classes, personal training, and more, it has everything. One negative is that there aren't a ton of classes at night, which limits my ability to use them since I work all day. Overall, I think it's the most complete gym in town.

Nice facility, but I think it's not very clean. I primarily workout at Riverpoint and find their gym much cleaner. Del Norte's ladies rooms smell bad. The classes are great with a lot of choice. The instructors are professional and treat each participant respectfully and equal unlike Riverpoint where instructors have their "friends" in class and act like high school girls.

Make sure to check your bill! Every month sports and wellness over charges us and they don't really seem to care. Client service is not great as they don't allow the individual gyms to take care of there issues, instead they make YOU contact the coorporate office instead of the individual gyms taking care of the problem. This is an ongoing occurance and NOT once have we received an apology. It's a shame because the equipment is nice and the personal trainers are great. Would not recommend....

I have been a member of this gym for over 20 years and I'm very happy with it. It can seem expensive, but if you consider all the locations you simply cannot beat the variety of classes available at any time of the day. They also have plenty of workout equipment so I honestly never have an excuse not to work out. Del Norte and Riverpoint are the nicest gyms of the four in my opinion, but I go to all of them frequently.

I have been to gyms all my life and all over the country and I have never been to a club that makes you feel like you're sitting down with a used car salesperson to sign up. They are way over priced and poor amenities. The showers don't stay a consistent water temperature, and the drinking fountains are room temperature. The staff is very kind and helpful, but definitely not worth the money. Very disappointing.

I absolutely love Del Norte. Everyone from the sales staff to trainers have been incredibly accommodating and helpful. I am reading lots of bad reviews about "nickel and diming" that has not been my experience at all. As a matter of fact, they let you charge your training sessions so you can start up and pay later. I have fallen behind on payments a few times and they even waived my late fees each time that has happened. My daughters, (who are under the age of 6) are also members. Everyone greets them politely and knows them by name every time we come in. They offer a toddler class called "Mighty Mites" and it is awesome! If I could give them 10 stars I would. My only complaint is that I cant be there more often. I highly reccommend this gym and if you had a bad experience... Im sorry!

They only care about your money. Canceling a membership is difficult and they charge you for multiple months. I called the membership manager and left a message, but she never returned my call. My husband went in to cancel, but since she wasn't there he couldn't cancel! The company who runs them wellbridge only cares about your money! They are of no assistance. Defined Fitness is a much less expensive alternative and child care is FREE unlike at SportsandWellness.

I have been a member for over 20 years and up until the last year or so, I was there almost daily for either a muscle class, a spin class, or a yoga class. Except for the latter, the quality of the classes has decreased due to their sell out to Les Mills- a canned program is NOT as motivational as an instructor who is passionate about her/his teaching. They have forced out many of the good instructors who refuse to use the canned program and the result for me has been mediocre, at best, classes.A few of the the instructors who refuse to be canned instructors are hanging in and their class attendance numbers prove that it's the quality of the instructor, not the corporate program that leads to committed participants. It is a beautiful facility, but you pay for it. The cost is increasingly more expensive, and it is beginning to feel like it's all about the profit to me. I will probably go elsewhere soon.

We had a child and weren't able to go to the gym; they said no problem, they'd put our account on hold. They did, and charged us $15/month anyway. That was maddening (they said they wouldn't charge us since we weren't using their services during that period). The real kicker though was when we decided it was overpriced and decided to quit. They make us pay through that month, and then the FOLLOWING month as well! TWO FULL MONTHS of us not even able to use the facilities (which were good, at least at the Del Norte gym). With this treatment I can say without hesitation that I won't be going back and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. It's a dishonest business.
