Gold's Gym Austin Highland offers a full range of equipment and fitness classes at a convenient location. The gym is always clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful. It operates from early morning to late evening, providing flexibility for various schedules. Although the gym has many amenities, including a sauna and dedicated cardio areas, it suffers from significant overcrowding due to the closure of other nearby gyms.

This leads to long waits for equipment and compromised workout experiences. While the gym staff and personal trainers receive high praise, customer service regarding membership issues and facility maintenance could be improved.

Pros:

  • Convenient location with ample facilities.
  • Friendly and helpful staff.
  • Wide range of fitness equipment.
  • Dedicated cardio areas and fitness classes.
  • Clean and well-maintained facility.
  • Flexible operating hours.
  • Sauna available.
  • Prompt repair of broken equipment.
  • Good customer service from personal trainers.
  • Frequent cleaning and sanitization.

Cons:

  • Severe overcrowding at peak times.
  • Long wait times for equipment.
  • Issues with customer service and membership cancellation.

Its always busy. Youll be waiting to get on at least one piece of equipment for like 5-10mins, when the machines break they take forever to fix it, no pool even though theres a giant sign outside that says pool. Also the organization of where machines are placed is kinda weird and doesnt really flow.

Brian at the desk is so friendly and kind as well as the rest of the staff. Gold’s Gym is always clean, from equipment to restrooms. Love this location! :)

This is one of the worst Gold’s in Austin, which is saying a lot because few are good. It’s worn, dated, the sauna is dark and smelly. If you like to lift go to a real gym like Lift ATX, Big Tex or Los Campeones. When the new Los Campeones open close by they’ll take hundreds of members from here.

This is definitely one of the better maintained gyms I’ve seen. They are cleaning constantly and keep things neat. Staff is super friendly. They have all the equipment you need. When equipment is broken it seems to be fixed within a reasonable amount of time.

There's a good selection of equipment. I wish they would add one more bench and one more a glute machine. Like any gym it's packed during rush hour. Clients at least when I go have good cleaning habits and seem to respect the equipment. Cleaning staff seems to do a good job keeping the place looking good. No serious complaints.

Golds is nice gym! It’s not too crowded and has everything you need to get big in this gym!

Overcrowded AF! Golds went bankrupt and some private equity company bought them out and closed half the gyms forcing everyone in the area to this gym. It’s 9pm on a Tuesday and there is only 1 parking spot in this gym and a line for most of the equipment! They should at least take the equipment from the closed down gyms and put it in the empty studios here. Next they will say “because of overcrowding we’re gonna raise everyone’s membership. 😤

Highland was my favorite gym to use. Ever since the closing of the two golds gyms near this one, it has become packed no matter what time of day you go. It’s literally like the 5-6pm rush through out the day.

Great gym - good selection of equipment. People wipe down the equipment regularly and are polite. Friendly staff. But the music is way too loud otherwise five stars
