Gold's Gym Austin Highland offers a full range of equipment and fitness classes at a convenient location. The gym is always clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful. It operates from early morning to late evening, providing flexibility for various schedules. Although the gym has many amenities, including a sauna and dedicated cardio areas, it suffers from significant overcrowding due to the closure of other nearby gyms.

This leads to long waits for equipment and compromised workout experiences. While the gym staff and personal trainers receive high praise, customer service regarding membership issues and facility maintenance could be improved.

  • Clean and well-maintained facility.
  • Flexible operating hours.
  • Sauna available.
  • Prompt repair of broken equipment.
  • Good customer service from personal trainers.
  • Frequent cleaning and sanitization.

Good equipment, and enjoyed that this location had the sauna in the locker room. They do need more leg machines though. That’s my only qualm.

I was out of town for the past several days so I haven’t been in since last week and haven’t had a chance to speak face to face but back today and this issue seems to have been addressed. Thank you for making my voice feel heard as a customer!

This gym is always full to the brim, if this gym was open 24/7 then you can bet your top dollar that 24/7 it would be crowded, even when there’s not a ton of people you still have to wait for equipment from the lack of essential gym equipment, two floors of cardio instead of having more squat racks or compound movement equipment/machines, it gets so badly crowded that people will sit on machines or benches to wait for something they need which in turn takes up another piece of equipment. Also, I’ve shown up when Google maps says “Usually not too busy” yet unsurprisingly it’s PACKED.

The open feel of this gym is great. It does get crowded, but try to go during off-peak times and it should be ok. I am mostly satisfied with this gym, but there are some cardio machines (ellipticals mostly) that are outdated, old, and rusty. Some of these machines sometimes work but randomly stop in the middle of a workout and they don't get fixed. This is surprising as the gym overall looks modern/new. It would be great if the pool opened back up as it was before the pandemic. If these issues were non-existent, I would give this gym 5 stars.

Completely overcrowded to the point you can't even park.and workout. Mornings and evenings seem to be over capacity. You can't dedicate yourself to a workout routine because for me I just have to go with what's available. Suana is disgusting and needs remodeling. Staff is amazing.

If you are a person that works out before getting your day started and needs to shower at the gym before heading to work, class, etc this is NOT the gym for you. Black mold in the men’s shower!

This gym does most of the things I care about right. The equipment is new and clean, with plenty of variety as well as sufficient supply of staples like free weights and cardio machines. It's nice that they post rules in various prominent areas to encourage good etiquette, too. They lose a star because equipment doesn't get fixed as quickly as it should, for instance there are more non-functioning TVs on the upstairs cardio machines than functioning ones.
