With life and career becoming hectic, I let my fitness take a backseat. It took me a long time to work around to reaching out to personal trainer and luckily Heavy Mettle immediately made me feel comfortable.Matt Ryan is an excellent trainer and runs an excellent gym. The atmosphere is relaxed but focused and I can honestly say every single workout I have done there I have enjoyed both from a fitness aspect as well as the camaraderie of the other trainers and other people working out there. After a few sessions it starts to feel like a community.The gym is well equipped and has everything a person needs in order to really make some excellent strides in fitness. They are great at checking in with you to tailor the program to your desires and goals. All 3 of the main trainers are excellent but my trainer Kevin Gaylord is truly awesome. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable about his subject matter and creates custom plans for me but he is also really excellent person who is always easy to chat with in between hard workout sets and every day we are laughing and talking about music and having a really good time.I cannot recommend this gym enough. In fact my wife will be joining me soon here after she has heard me raving about it to her.

Great gym and fantastic training. I’ve been training here for around 3 months now after a LONG time off. Matt was great in onboarding and matching me with an awesome trainer (Adrien). I had a pre-existing shoulder injury and they’ve done a fantastic job structuring my training around rebuilding strength there while also helping me make so much progress on my overall fitness. Highly recommend this gym and their programs for anyone looking to get back on track or take their fitness to the next level.

I would highly recommend. As a female, I lost 17lbs the first month and gained not only strength but mobility as well. Matt tailored a program for my fiancé and I to help us get back in a good state physically. As an added bonus, the facility is very clean and private which counts big in today’s world.

Matt is an awesome trainer. His team that works with him is great too if he’s not available and you need to get your workout in. Very knowledgeable, patient, and reliable. I’ve had some injuries to work around and he’s been super helpful in still meeting goals and finding exercises you can do that not only help the recovery but make progress around it to. Great place to workout! Oh and they just upgraded all there equipment!

Matt is an awesome personal trainer! I had a pretty bad broken ankle which took out my stamina and strength over the course of 1 1/2 years so I was nervous to get back in the gym. Matt created a great program that not only made my ankle a priority but helped me gain my strength back and then some. He’s more than willing to spend extra time with you on food and at-home workout plans as well and has a super positive attitude when you train with him. Definitely the best in Austin!

I've only been in Austin about 3 months but I knew when I arrived I would need a quality trainer because I had recently had both shoulder and hip surgery. I did a lot of research to find a place that could accommodate my post surgical needs with my desire to lift heavy as quickly as possible. Matt and his team have exceeded all my expectations. Every trainer is invested in your gains, whether they're actually training you or just happen to be in the gym that day. In all my years of training, I've never advanced so quickly or been supported so much as I have since coming to train with Heavy Mettle. I, quite literally, cannot recommend them enough.

Matt is a very good personal trainer. He took his time to get to know my goals and I started seeing results within the first month. He kicks your butt in workouts but also makes sure you’re eating healthy and eating right to see real results. I would highly recommend Matt to anyone who wants to start their fitness journey.

Best decision I've made! Matt's THE BEST trainer anywhere in town! Funny and great personality, knows what he's talking about, and will help push you to hit any goal that you want! I've been training with Matt for over 6 months now and I've dropped from a 2XL down to almost a L. I can see a lot more muscle definition and overall feel better and have energy throughout the day. Matt curates both workout routines and diet programs that you can follow for the long term! Always excited to go to the gym now! Will continue to use him as my trainer!
