Great place to burn some calories. The machines are new, staff is nice, lockers are clean, and overall price is the cheapest. Excellent place!!?

I like this location in regards to the cleanliness and staff. But I must warn: 3 pm to 8 pm it’s packed. I have a hard time find available equipment during these hours.

Went to check-out this Planet Fitness and inquire about membership on 8/6 in the evening. A very apathetic man at the front desk did not offer to show me the club and said that there would be a $20 charge to use the club one time unless I went to the Planet Fitness web site, found this specific location, scrolled to the bottom of the page and clicked on the “day pass” hyperlink. Then, I would have to enter my email address and wait for an email to appear in my inbox and show him the email before I could check-out the club. I asked if Planet Fitness was going to spam my inbox, and the man said “probably” (at least he was as honest as he was apathetic). I actually did everything he instructed me to do right in front of him on my smartphone, and there was no link for a day pass at this location! I showed him the results on my smartphone and he just shrugged his shoulders and said I couldn’t get a day pass and would have to pay $20 or just purchase a membership outright without becoming acquainted with it first. I told him that I didn’t feel comfortable joining without checking it out first, thought $20 for an hour workout was too much, and due to his disregard for customers I would not join Planet Fitness. He just shrugged again and wished me a nice evening. I think The Dearborn Racquet and Health Club is a MUCH better option.

A lot of machines. Good staff. Pretty clean. Manager is friendly beyond sign up. Not crowded so plenty of space to get your workout in.

My home gym... Ive been to several PF's around Metro Detroit... This is by far the cleanest around... its kind of hard to find off of the street, but its located across the back lot of the Nissan Dealership where the old Toys R Us used to be

Associates that work there are not friendly at all they are rude and will actually interrupt your phone conversation to tell you that you're not allowed to talk on the phone while at the gym!? they have the worst floor manager his name is Sam - he refused to give his last name -rudest of them all he is very racist, impolite and among the things he would do is yell while talking to people if for example he sees you're talking on the phone- he did that to two girls working out on the treadmill. If you show that you dont like how he 'Sam' spoke to you he will keep stirring at you on your way in/out of the gym and Yes thats how messed up this guy is and will threaten to close your membership. This is not a friendly atmosphere if you plan to have a good time and relax while working out. I was a member at planet fitness for 8 years with no problems just recently moved to the location on Michigan Ave. in DEARBORN, MI and thats when the bad experience started due to their rude and unfriendly staff. I wouldnt go or recommend going there unless they change their staff or teach/train their staff on how to approach and speak to people.

Good equipment, friendly people, very large parking lot and clean shower's and locker rooms not to over crowded so space for workout is available safe environment also lockers provided but just to be safe and cautious I would always recommend that if you have any valuable items that are not going to be necessary during your workout leave it at your home for safe keeping

I’ve been going to Planet Fitness for seven years and have been to the Troy, Royal Oak, Redford, Southfield, and Southgate locations and have never had any issues in fact I have managed to have friendships with some of the staff but this location is the worst. I’ve always heard people complaining about their “Judgement Free” policy but I always stood up for them since they really have most of what I need to stay/get in shape (I even trained for a bikini fitness competition here, well other locations) and the staff at those locations were supportive and excited for me. This location apparently had an issue with my half gallon (well made and reusable) water jug, told me it was intimidating and that it doesn’t fit their image. I get they have a rule against the flimsy one gallon jugs but I didn’t really see an issue with mine? I’m also a 5’ 3” blonde girl who has never caused any issues there. They then told me I can’t have it because it doesn’t fit in the cup holders on the cardio machines and that it’s a “tripping hazard” which doesn’t make sense because there’s no cup holders over by the free weights and everyone sets their bottles on the floor no matter what size. Anyway, I joined a new gym and cancelled my membership there, good riddance.

I was talked to for having a water bottle that was too large. I carry a 103 oz (3 qt) container with me throughout the day to make sure I am drinking enough water. The staff approached me in the middle of a run to let me know that the bottle was “intimidating” and had a stigma associated to body builders. If you look at me, I am anything but a body builder and I am a 32 year old 30 lbs overweight man. I am trying to get back into shape after my doctor discussed my physical blood results. The doctor also mentioned that I need to drink half my body weight (in ounces) of water each day...thus the 103 oz container. I get the “gymtimidation” thing, but this was not bothering anybody. I am not sure I will keep my membership there. Really disappointed because planet fitness’s idea is great but the staff and policies suck.Also, I don’t want to drink water out of the water fountains. I take my water from home and like drinking that; I don’t trust public water after Flint’s water issues. I don’t want to hear some BS response that there are drinking fountains available to fill a smaller container. It is ironic that a fitness center discriminated against hydration. Don’t want to hear that it is a trip hazard...it was touching the treadmill with 10+ feet of space to walk.

I've never joined a gym before and I'm very impressed with Planet Fitness and the staff at the desk on how helpful they are.I am however not impressed with their Fitness instructor or Tech he wasn't very personable he didn't seem to care about my workout needs he never checked on me again.
