If there were Zero stars to give they deserve it for their racist and pitiful customer service. At the time when the national conversation should cause us to reflect on our biases and how we can treat each other with basic human dignity, they treated my son and his friend (legitimate members) as if they were criminals all because they key card (legitimate) would not scan. Can you explain why you would want to call the police because the key card doesn’t work? Without checking the account they asked them to leave and threatened to call the police. We have had membership here for years! To be clear this is not the first time the staff has profiled them. If you have crime in your establishment deal with it but not by targeting outstanding college students. They violated these young adults, traumatized them with threat of police(they are black) and made them feel like criminals. I have yet to meet the woman who did this, I suppose she is the manager but this is totally unacceptable in this community. We deserve an apology!UPDATE:I ended up looking at the reviews on this page and realize this place is pretty bad and the management just sends a generic text for every comment meaning they have no intention of doing anything about it. Your response below and to multiple other complaints show that you do not care about your customers.

The integrity of this place has fallen off within the last 5 years. Xsport use to be the best (for me) but now it’s all dirty everywhere. Locker rooms/showers really nasty looks they only clean once a day. Half the shower heads don’t work properly. Equipment dirty, old, out of order. Swimming pool water never gets drained,cleaned,restored, water looks like it came from across the street from the treatment plant on Howard.

Clearly, the workers have an attitude and hate their jobs. They have no regard for customer service. I would never recommend this filth of a location to anyone. The locker rooms are filled with toilet paper and it smells like someone ran around with a sock full of expired butter. On top of that, people get charged for no reason with no explanation. Please cancel your gym memberships here as this location is an absolute disgrace to all franchise gyms.

I understand that this gym prioritizes value for its customers. But I work out at several XSport locations, and the gyms that are frequented by primarily white clientele on the north and near north sides of the city are kept at an acceptable level of cleanliness. This location is literally filthy. Dirty q tips on the locker room floor, overflowing garbage bins, toilet paper strewn everywhere. When brought to the front desks attention, they said they would deal with it but did not. When mentioned a second time, I was told that the members here are “so dirty.” Wow, really? Hope the majority non-white patrons who use this club know that this is what the management thinks of them. Totally inexcusable even for a “value” gym chain.

Update: Now can you monitor the loud, phone-talking members??????? It’s ridiculous! I can’t even enjoy my workout!6 machines in one row “out of order.” Just one row alone, but there are more. No mats. Dirty water fountain. 2/6 out of order restroom stalls. Sigh.

Don’t waste your valuable time and money at this gym. The manager has an attitude problem and poorly trained staff. They won’t respect your membership, and will always find a way to make you pay more. I don’t recommend this gym at all!

I recently moved to the area and wanted to get a gym membership. After doing some research I finally decided on Xsport Fitness mostly because of the amenities. My wife and I are big swimmers and having the pool available was a big plus. However my first time here, I asked the worker for a little more information about all the amenities. When I told him I was interested in the pool, he told me “ooo you can go check it out for yourself but I wouldn’t go in there”. When I went to look at it I was disgusted. The water was murky and there was brown grime building up along the edges. Apparently they only clean it once a month IF THAT. Along with that the locker room was a mess and there were weights thrown all over the place in the gym. For as much as I’m paying I’m very disappointed. I live closest to the Skokie location but I’ve decided in the future to make the trip to other locations in Chicago for hopefully a cleaner gym with water that won’t give me pink eye. I’m very disappointed and I hope they can improve their cleanliness because other than that it seems like a nice gym.

DO NOT GO TO THIS GYM. I usually don’t like to leave negative reviews but I feel like I have no choice. I am extremely dissatisfied. I go to this gym almost everyday and the quality of this gym is poor. I am finally thinking about switching gyms. Many of the weight machine equipments are broken and do not get fixed in a timely manner. Literally half of all the Treadmills do not work and this has been the case for MONTHS. Not days or weeks, but months. The same treadmills that were not working back in May are still not working in August. Most of the Ellipticals do not work. Most of the Stair Machines do not work. The sauna has been broken for at least 3 days in a row. The pool is never clean. Why doesn’t the staff fix anything? It makes you wonder where the membership fees are going. They clearly aren’t putting it back into the gym. I’m paying way too much money for a gym where everything is broken. This is “supposedly” one of the nicer XSports too but as of this very moment, over the last couple of months, this place is very trashy. I’ve been a member here for over 5 years and unless management straightens things around soon, I’m going to be looking for a new gym. I cannot emphasize enough how many things are broken. I would estimate at least 30 cardio machines are inoperable and around 10 weight machines. This gym is literal trash as of this moment.

Was on the search for a gym since I recently moved to the state and came across XSport Fitness. I have always been an LA Fitness member, but this gym was a lot closer to me so I decided to join. It’s got variety of machines for sure. I recommend you workout anytime before 7 pm. After 7pm it gets packed!! Did that mistake 1 day and never again. Almost every machine was occupied and it just felt uncomfortable with so many people at the gym, specifically crowding the weight lifting area. Aside from that, it has been a different procedure every time I come with my husband. For example, one day they take our temperature, the next they don’t. One day they want my husband to sign in, since I got him the guest pass, the next day they don’t bother. It would help if everybody was on the same page. Overall, it’s a good place to get your workout done at.

I’d give a rating of zero stars if possible. Horrible customer service. Gym itself was alright. Guys at the front desk were cordial but there was a pregnant woman working the desk with such a snotty attitude. Came in with a guest after 9 and was told no guests were allowed after 9pm after being able to do so for weeks. This was never informed to me when I opened my membership. I proceed to tell her to open a membership for my guest & she sent someone else to do so. After a while of putting up with the horrible customer service I decided to cancel my membership. They would not cancel it unless I either wrote a letter explaining why or personally walked into the gym to do so. I walked into this location at about 10pm and was told that a manager had to be present in order to cancel it. There were 3 people at the desk including the pregnant woman. You’re telling me not one of you is a manager? Ridiculous. I had to go to another location on Milwaukee (niles) to close my membership. They also over charged my card. I was also charged $10 to cancel my membership completely lol So watch out for that. Worst experience ever.
