Life Time Commerce in Michigan offers a luxurious gym experience with a wide range of amenities, including top-notch fitness classes, a relaxing sauna, a lap pool, and an inviting café. Families particularly love the kids' programs, which include activities like rock climbing and learning Spanish. The gym stands out for its pristine facilities and helpful staff, making it a preferred choice for those seeking a comprehensive fitness and wellness solution.

However, despite the many positives, some members have noted issues. The gym's customer service has been a concern, with reports of rude staff and inconsistent policies. Additionally, the facility often becomes overcrowded, and the presence of unsupervised teens detracts from the experience. The high membership cost and strict cancellation policies have also been points of criticism.

The 'manager' who planned the Daddy Daughter Dance did a terrible job last night. We were ripped off.• charged 10 additional per daughter to attend a 'tea party' that we were told would include snacks...nothing was there. No drinks. Towards the end Marconi's Pizza came by and dropped off about a dozen pizzas and they said they were donating it! No drinks......no structure....and then paint for making a huge mess with the girls party dresses? Ridiculous rip off.• The dance used obnoxiously loud screaming DJs that kept playing rap and beat music instead of children's songs...the dinner was not fit for little girls and non-health nuts to want to eat. No butter with rolls? Extreme shortages of dessert cupcakes the size of a quarter...nothing to drink except water and lemonade that tasted terrible. Ridiculous. I was embarrassed. Never again. Who plans these ridiculous over priced activities? Wake up. Never again Life Time Fitness.

Basically the only reason I still work out here is because I really like Jamile the Zumba and Barre (which I wish there was an actual barre for this class) instructor. I just feel like for paying top price, the gym should be kept a lot cleaner. The bathroom, ecspecially the stalls are disgusting. I also think the water from the fountain should be a lot colder, half the time it's warm and not refreshing while working out.

EDIT FROM PREVIOUS 1 Star RatingI had an issue with my membership. I signed up over the phone and was not told i needed to notify them 30 days before i cancelled. I assumed that because it was month to month that I just had to submit my request before my payment. That is not the case.I called corporate and did not get the results I desired but after working with the GM and the team at the club my issue was resolved. Frank, Danielle, Mike, and the Business Manager were helpful.

When I joined the fitness, I was told that the Racquettball courts are available for everyone. However the fact of the matter is it is available only for few people who has ability to reserve courts well advance with admin rights to the website. all the courts are booked completely even before they are available for booking for general customers. I feel I am cheated as they did not reveal this when I joined the club. I am disappointed that there is no zero rating available for me to choose here.

After being a member at this gym for over 8 years I have finally come to the point that enough is enough. I understand that this is a busy location this facility is under staffed to say the least. To start off the only reason I am still a member at this gym when my dues have gone from $39.95 in October of 2008 and steadily risen every so often, currently at $59(I am currently 26 and aware that it is going to go up again on my borthday if not sooner) is because they offer many different amenities such as a basketball court, towels, indoor pool, indoor lap pool, indoor jacquizzi, outdoor pool for the summer, steam room, sauna, and a full workout area(these are the ones that I use, I know there are others as well). The care of the gym as a whole has declined in every aspect. To start off, the men's locker room is always in all kinds of disarray. The garbage bins are not only full but over flowing. You are lucky to have clean towels readily available. The dirty/used towel bins are always filled beyond the granite tops. Used towels are all over the place. The showers have used towels and trash left everywhere. There have been times where the toilet paper was missing in the stalls. Last but not least the bags used to take your wet clothes home are sometimes all gone and we have to ask the attendants at the towel desk multiple times until a new roll is put in the appropriate place. These unsanitary conditions make me question why I even come here to begin with.Out of the two basketball courts one is almost always taken by a league and the other seems to always be busy with different miscalaneous things such as birthday parties or 4 children being taught karate. I understand that these members are entitled to the use of the basketball court just like I am but when it comes to the point that I can almost never use the courts it makes it very frustrating. The workout are upstairs has many different issues. To start off, once again the unsanitary conditions of the machines never being wiped down. Used towels being left everywhere. Weights are never put back where they belong. It has taken me over ten minutes to find a matching set of dumbbells. The racks of weights always seem to be empty even on slow days such as Saturday's. The weights plates used for bench presses and other workout are never organized and most of the time the plates are left on the ground instead of put back on the appropriate racks. The classes that are held throughout the workout floor have made it difficult to even have a full workout. I have even noticed that there have been classes that were held on the normal gym floor instead of in the classrooms that are locked and unused at times. The members that throw the weights to the ground are never asked to follow any of the posted rules. Last but not least there have been multiple occasions where groups of kids or teenagers were upstairs just causing a disturbance. These are just some of the problems that I have witnessed with my own eyes. Had my membership been $10 a month I could understand these issues being acceptable but for a gym of this scale to be in this condition is unacceptable.I am currently looking at other options and debating if I am going to go to an alternate local gym that offers of these similar amenities but actually care about the members as a whole and take care of their establishment.Hopefully Lifetime is able to get their act together as I would like to continue using this gym. When I first enrolled this wasn't just a local gym but a fitness center that cared about its reputation and about its members. Honestly speaking as a entrepreneur myself it isn't hard to fix these issues but it will take a few additional people on staff to make sure these items are taken care of regularly.

I've been a member here for years and I am getting sick of paying $69 a month for this place. It's dirty, disgusting and poorly managed. A lot of other people have the same complaints as I do...just continue reading the reviews. The locker rooms are a mess, so is the weight floor and basically everything else. No one cleans...no one puts their weights back....lifetime reserves much of the equipment for their programs during the after work rush. This place is a joke...the only reason I am still a member is because my job pays for most of my gym membership. I would leave in a heartbeat if they didn't.

I was concerned renewing my membership here after being spoiled by the (not really affordable for me) diamond club, but finding when I visited the Troy location (to do the rock climbing wall with my teenage daughter) that it felt more like an overpriced YMCA. Fortunately, that hasn't been my experience at this location at all. It is expensive, but at nearly 100$ less p/month than Bloomfield, I still feel like I'm getting a beautiful, relaxing atmosphere where I can zone in on my workout and zone out the world. It has a ton of great amenities, it's kept - not perfect - but clean and sanitary, and the vast majority of the people there are actually there to work out. Yes, it's a bit amusing when someone is stalking you in the parking lot for your space so they don't have to walk so far to go exercise, but that's just people being people. And yes, it gets crowded during peak hours, which is why they're called peak hours. (Hint: Google will tell you when these normally are.)Long story short: You're getting what you pay for here.Except the shower heads. They suck. :-)

If you're just going there to continue your workouts - whether it be lifting, running, walking, swimming, basketball, or even the aerobics room - then you're going to have a great time. Great facility if you've got your own agenda, and a great place to stay fit.My only qualm is the locker room. It needs to be cleaned more often, and towels definitely need to be washed more.

The pool and water slides are unbeatable in the summer AND winter if you have kids. I've also been very impressed with the aquatics staff, who taught my 3yo daughter to swim in just 6 months. We're happy to have such a strong swimmer at such a young age, and have friends at other gyms and dedicated swim school that haven't had the same results. It can get crowded in the family locker room, and people don't always clean up after themselves, but those are the only real negatives I've experienced here.

The gym itself is great. It's clean, the locker rooms are nice and there are tons of amenities. I enjoy the pool in the summer time even though it does get pretty packed. The big problem I have with this gym is all the Chaldean children and teens running around unsupervised. The boys take up the basketball courts and hallways. They are always cursing and trying to start fights. Earlier this week they were starting to fight right next to the front desk. The staff ignored it as I broke up the fight. The girls are always sitting around in the locker room as they sit on their phones and gossip. The gym is NOT a daycare. Parents need to stop dropping the kids off alone because none of them are obviously mature enough to be there alone. Lifetime does nothing about this. They should have a 18+ rule. It's starting to get very irritating and I'm looking into other gyms. The $130 a month is not worth it.
