Life Time Commerce in Michigan offers a luxurious gym experience with a wide range of amenities, including top-notch fitness classes, a relaxing sauna, a lap pool, and an inviting café. Families particularly love the kids' programs, which include activities like rock climbing and learning Spanish. The gym stands out for its pristine facilities and helpful staff, making it a preferred choice for those seeking a comprehensive fitness and wellness solution.

However, despite the many positives, some members have noted issues. The gym's customer service has been a concern, with reports of rude staff and inconsistent policies. Additionally, the facility often becomes overcrowded, and the presence of unsupervised teens detracts from the experience. The high membership cost and strict cancellation policies have also been points of criticism.

  • Excellent kids' programs.
  • Pristine facilities.
  • Helpful and welcoming staff.
  • Top-notch fitness classes.

I travel a lot for work and this is by far the worst Lifetime I have ever visited. Almost every machine still had weights on it. No one puts their weights back. And if they did re-rack the weights it was in the wrong location. And lifetime personal were no where to be seen on the second floor in the free weights area. I witnessed several people almost daily abusing the machines, that's why we can't have nice things. Dirty towels we're every where. Towels all over the place, no one picks up after them selves. The locker rooms were even worse. Towels on the floor every where! They have signs with the rules on them but no one followed the rules and there was no body there to enforce any of it. Gym etiquette here is awful. I am so glad to be going home. Where they know how to run a gym properly.

I was reluctant to join, based on some of the reviews, but decided to give it a try anyway. The manager I dealt with at sign-up was completely honest in answering my questions, admitted to the issues addressed in previous reviews, and outlined how they were working to avoid those issues in the future. They recently remodeled the fitness floor, which is an added bonus. i Have been a member for a month now and am very satisfied with this club.

I guess LT wants it to be so family friendly that they let rowdy teens/kids run wild! Saying it is an expensive YMCA is a fair statement. Then, the price goes up and up... so I am not happy how the place is run. 3 star for management. Then, it still has the most to offer... multiple pools, lots of work out choices, cool App, long hours. I just work out when there are less disturbances. 5 star for facility. We just had a Bday party our my teen kid and the teens had a blast. They rock climbed, played volley ball, and games. The staff are so cool and attentive. Highly recommended. 5 star for fun.I guess until there is a close enough substitute LT is still the place to be.

I used to be a regular member and cancelled due to problems with the club in 2008, rejoined in mud 2018 but am regretting the decision. The club is running down , the lockers are in terrible shape almost half the locks do not work. The pool area usally has dirty floors. Showers smell of sewage at times. The traffic in the locker room is usually loud and rude tees( it feels like a bad daycare), towels are thrown on the ground and lotsa yelling by the kids. Equipment are worn out and some do not work properly. Overall this is not the life time that opened originally. Not worth the monthly charge. Many health clubs give you better service for half the price. I am seriously thinking about cancelling again. I do not think anything will change for the better. Have discussed my concerns with the new manager but still waiting to see any changes. Disappointing.

I have been coming here at least 3 times a week for over 10 years. Best gym ever. They must mop the locker room floors, showers, and stalls every hour. Any questions or concerns I ever have are addressed promptly. No idea what some of the other people’s comments are about. There’s a wide range of ages and cultures here. As long as you’re polite, not overly aggressive, and don’t camp out on machines you should have a good time.

Consistent with all other Lifetimes. Only issue I had with visiting this club (Commerce is not my home club) is that there is a musty smell when you walk in. It is either mildew/mold from lack of cleaning or it’s in the vents. Either way it was off putting and made me concern about the air I was breathing in.

Giving only two stars for many reasons1. Expensive membership , family if 4 160$/ month2. I signed up and wanted to cancel my membership exactly a week from the date I signed up , just to find out that the 7 day cancelation is actually 6 days . They count the day that you sign up so if you sign up on Monday evening you have to come to the office and cancel on Sunday . I called following Monday and they said they won't reimbursed any of the fees and I have to give them 30 days cancalation notice ! I believe that is a scam and I lost 450$ ( first month of membership + sign in fees)3. Because I couldn't cancel we decided to sign up the kids for swimming lessons which are great but you have to pay for the membership in order to take swimming lessons which are extra. Swim lessons for two kids and membership now ends up at 300$ a month and even though we like swimming lessons we gave them cancelation notice because it's way too expensive. Unless you come every day and use it4. My goodness .... all naked ladies in changing rooms ?! That's way too much to see for my little daughter's . My kids really don't need to see your naked butt in their face !5. We joined in the summer time and the pool was beyond packed . Looked like many families with cousins would come for the whole day and you can feel like you're crashing into someone's foreign party.

The pool is constantly being closed. Apalling to pay for it.It's fine and usually clean. Unfortunately staff isn't the most motivated to provide those extra facilities you're paying for (eg. leisure pool, rock wall). Expensive amenities are often unavailable and it's a pain. Additionally, the nutrition "cleanses" they promote are "clean eating" without the science you'd expect, instead just going after trends that don't necessarily have much to back them up. This doesn't inspire confidence. However, the class instructors are helpful and highly motivated. The weight machines (and functioning cardio equip.) are great. It can be a relaxing place to workout and hop in the hot tub/steam room after for some recovery.

I would give this Lifetime location 0 stars if I could. By far the worst Lifetime in Michigan. This club is very poorly ran and the employees here just don't care about anything other than selling new memberships or up-charge classes. This is no longer a 24 hour club either, closes at midnight to 4 AM.Most cardio equipment was worn out and not working properly in some way for years until just now when they got some brand new equipment, so now only part of their cardio equipment is worn out.The advanced training section now has multiple competing bootcamp/circuit training style classes at prime usage time that cost a large extra fee, and prevent you from using the equipment there. As multiple other reviews have mentioned, this location attracts a disproportionate number of rowdy guests in the evening hours that could care less about the rules. This leads to disguising locker rooms with towels thrown all over the floor and showers, people just leaving their stuff on/under benches, and in unlocked lockers. People are in the sauna in their dirty workout clothes or street clothes, etc. It seems that many non-members sneak in during the evening hours - which leads to the problems above.

Worst thing I’ve ever done was get a membership at lifetime fitness, especially this location. Management is horrible. They treat you with no respect. Had my sunglasses stolen from this location within the blink of an eye. Everything is overpriced. Don’t buy any Protein drinks from this place, just go to the gas station across the street and get it for half the price. You can get the same thing from lifetime fitness at planet fitness for a fifth of the price. Save your money and don’t give it to this ungrateful location. Seriously. Never have I been more disappointed with management than I have been with this place. Complete joke and ripoff. 0/5 stars
