I have to admit when I first moved joined I thought the gym was awesome compared to the planet fitness I left to join. It's really close to my apt and in a great location. But after a couple of months I started to notice things that were out of place that shouldn't be for the money being paid. Water fountains were always broken or spewed out warm water, the bathrooms stalls were always dirty, stair masters were broken, tv in free weight section broken, and the sauna/pool area hasn't been the cleanest either. Is there anything preventing me from lifting weights or attaining my physical goals, no. Sure its crowded right after work but in the morning or evening around 8 it clears out. They could use an additional squat rack though. I give three stars because at the end of the day its not like they held a gun to my head and made me pay every month, and the staff is friendly and seems to know what they're doing, but I will be cancelling my membership today and using my school gym and pool for free instead.

I am a current customer of this 24 hr location and I thought to give my opinion about this place to help other people in Houston to find the right gym,So far this gym is a disgrace. The weight room is ALWAYS a cluster. You can't find the dumb bells you're looking for because NO ONE re racks anything. I haven't even seen a single employee re rack anything or help keep the weight room clean. I've worked in gyms for 6+ years and this is just sad to see. You're "free weight area" is too small and insufficient. The layout makes it get very crowded easily. You have more machines and cardio equipment than you could possibly need. I don't see how your trainers can manage with such limited spaceYour equipment is neglected. Cables stick or are broken constantly. Your handles to the attachments on your Cable Crossover are 2 screws away from busting off completely. This gym is basically the new Gold's Gym stereotypical meat market. As far as classes go, I have no clueI don't even go into your locker rooms. The only thing good about this gym is the front desk staff and the sales team. They do a good job about staying on top of things.

I'm there 4:30 am - 5:30 am weekdays, so a crowd isn't a problem for me.I know what I'm going for, have my routine planned, work out and head home. Straight forward. If you're like that, it'll work for you. If you're a fad person that wants all the fancy stuff, this place isn't for you. A gym is for sweating and working hard. Not for watching TV, looking pretty, relaxing, or wasting time socializing. It's a gym, not a country club. With all it's equipment, it serves it's purpose.Like all other gyms, this place also has those annoying douchebags who curl on the squat rack or don't return the equipment to their place after they're done. Basic gym etiquette. But it's taken a bit too far while I'm there. I often have to search around for a certain weight or ask if someone is using the barbell with four plates on it. If the problem wasn't that bad, I'd give this place a higher score.

I love the classes at this gym but the equipment is terrible. The sound system never works and they tell us that they are replacing it and then they put a bandaid on it and call it a day. It is still broke! Still broke! How many times can you tell a person that something is not working and they still don't do anything about it. I pay a lot of money to 24 hour you could at least get the equipment and sound system working.

Here it goes: last night (1/26/2014) I went to this gym around 9:30pm. 4 out of 6 men's showers are out of service, and the steam room is out of service. I have to wait for nearly 40mins to shower after swimming. This is insane, ain't it? If I got other friends, I won't ever let them come near 24 hour fitness, if they have to, then definitely not this location. Coz it sucks to pay for services that are actually unavailable when you need them. 24 hour fitness never tells ppl to pay less membership fees, but they do lots of times degrade the promised services available. I am not sad at all, I just lost faith in 24 hour fitness, and I will pass along my experience to everyone I know to make sure that my friends are not experiencing the horrible services 24 hours fitness trying to make $$$ off.PERIOD.

I have to preface this review by saying I have the luxury of visiting the gym during off-peak hours. I go anywhere between 8am and 2pm. If I could only go after work like most people, I might have to knock down a few stars for lack of parking, lack of working machines, etc.I love their group exercise classes. My favorite is Jeremy's boot camp on Thursdays at noon. I also hear that some of the spin instructors are awesome, but I have yet to try a spin class at 24. Unlike Define, you aren't required to clip in, so there is no extra cost to rent shoes. I think it should be a requirement to wipe down the mat (in the group X room) with some antibacterial something after you use it. It often smells like butt. Some of the cardio machines are broken and aren't always fixed in a timely manner, but during off-peak hours, I can just hop on another machine.I like the setup of the gym and how the cardio stuff is on one side, and the weights are on another. I do wish they had more squat racks and free weights. It's always a challenge trying to find them.

Have been a member for 2 years (pre paid 2 year membership). The gym is too busy, parking is horrible and they DO NOT maintain the equipment well! Water fountains, stair masters, treadmills, etc. always broken! I don't get it, they are making good money (always busy) and yet they refuse to maintain the equipment. The place is mostly run by inexperienced young "managers". I hope they put someone experienced in charge who can take care of the place!

I've been a member of 24 hour fitness in many locations between many cities, and the customer service at this one is the worst I've experienced. No one ever greets me "hello" or "goodbye" and there's no warmth to the staff interactions. For example, my roommate recently signed up for a trial membership and was turned away very rudely at the front desk because he came when there was no membership consultants present. I understand if there are policies and restrictions for the trial membership but the lady at the counter didn't explain why there was a restriction, didn't sympathize with us at all about the situation, and then gave us the cold shoulder/stared at us blankly when we tried to get more information. She later told me, "I've seen him come in with you before," accusing me of trying to sneak my roommate into the gym even though we had walked straight to the counter to ask her about how he was supposed to redeem the trial membership. The next day, the manager did call me to hear my side of the story but he said the lady at the counter told him we called her a racist, which wasn't true. This whole situation makes my blood boil every time I think about it and was the last straw that prompted me to write this review.

This is a nice gym, but it's usually very crowded. The equipment is fairly nice. The locker rooms are nice, the showers are pretty awesome actually. Would be awesome if it wasn't so crowded, but given the location...it makes sense.

They use fingerprint for your membership! I may quit because of that. The gym is new, however because of so many people its useless. Their is a line of people waiting for the shower! Also with no free lockers. I need to find a better gym.I only use it for the shower when my water is out
